Medical camp
I hurried over to check on Kathy. She was smiling and sad at the same time.
She went down to the kitchen and brought some cookies and juice. "Mother went out to gossip with other ladies. Because of Brandon, our relationship has remained a secret to others to this day. Since we were in the same club yesterday, I fear Ria could believe I drugged her." Kathy spoke in a dull tone.
"I don't think she will take your name. Even if she did, you were on the dance floor, and you could not have drugged them," I assured her.
"Did you watch it?" she asked me. "I had a glance; she is Alpha's daughter. If we stay there longer than a minute, we will be punished for recording or watching." I told her as I sat on her bed.
"It's good that we got out in time," she said.
"Let's watch it," Kathy suggested. "It's p... adult content. I cannot watch with you."
"Come on, we are adults, and we can watch my ex-boyfriend screwing his new girl publicly." She wiggled her eyebrows. Finally, after a long debate, we decided to watch it.
The video started playing, and I immediately regretted my decision. It was disgusting and humiliating to watch. We could hear heavy breathing and moaning. I could not believe that Ria would do something like this, and I felt sick to my stomach. It could be Kathy' was only running in my mind. Kathy seemed to be filled with sadness, but I could not bear to look at the screen anymore. "I can't watch this," I said, standing up from the couch. "Me too," Kathy said as she followed me out.
Brandon suddenly emerged out of nowhere and pulled Kathy. I followed them in a hurry.
I ran after Brandon and Kathy as fast as I could, my heart pounding with anticipation. I had no idea what he was planning to do, but I knew it was not good.
When I finally caught up to them, they were standing in a dark alleyway, illuminated only by the dim light of the street lamp above them.
"How did you switch the glasses?" Brandon questioned.
Kathy's eyes widened in shock as she heard the question. She had been avoiding talking about Brandon, her boyfriend since the day he cheated on her with Ria. She knew what Ria was doing but it still made her angry.
"When did you end up with Ria?" Kathy asked again, trying to keep her voice calm.
Brandon shifted uncomfortably and looked away before answering. "It was a few weeks ago," he said quietly. "I didn't mean for it to happen, but Ria was so persistent." He glanced at Kathy, looking almost guilty, which only made Kathy's anger grow even more.
Kathy clenched her fists and took a deep breath before replying. "Do you still love me? Or is this just some kind of game for Ria?"
Brandon seemed taken aback by the directness of the question and he hesitated before answering. "Yes," he finally said earnestly. "I do still love you, Kathy."
Kathy felt a wave of relief wash over her and she let out a relieved sigh before allowing herself to smile at him weakly. Despite everything that had happened between them lately, Brandon still had the nerve to make her a fool.
"No, I don't love you anymore," Kathy said and started walking away. Brandon pulled her and slammed her against the wall.
Kathy was shaking with fear as Brandon held her tightly in his arms. His face was twisted with rage and he shouted at her in a menacing voice.
"You think you can just come to the club and ruin my life? You think you can just take everything away from me like that?" he spat out between gritted teeth.
Kathy looked up at Brandon, her eyes wide with fear. She had no idea what he was talking about, but she could feel his anger radiating from him in waves.
"I did not do anything," Ria managed to choke out. "I was just drinking and dancing, nothing more."
"You need to stay away from Ria," he said coldly. "She doesn't need anyone ruining her life the way you almost ruined mine."
"I did not do anything." Brandon’s grip on her tightened
Kathy started to cry and begged for mercy, but Brandon only laughed and tightened his grip on her. He then looked directly at me and sneered. "For someone who cares so much about this girl, why don't you do something? Or are you too scared?"
My heart raced as anger coursed through me. In an instant, all my fear evaporated and was replaced by a determination to save Kathy from this monster's clutches. Without thinking twice, I stepped forward and punched Brandon hard in the face.
He staggered backward, releasing Kathy from his grasp in the process. She quickly ran towards me as Brandon cursed and shouted threats at us both before finally running away into the night.
We stayed there for a few minutes more until we both regained our composure enough to talk about what had just happened. We eventually shared a hug before heading back home together in silence - both of us were just grateful to have made it out of that situation alive.
We walked in silence for a while until we reached my home. "Thanks for coming with me," she said before hugging me goodbye. As I walked up to my home, I could not help but wonder why I had agreed to walk home.
Days filled like pages in a book. Soon it was time to go to the medical camp. My aunt helped pack my bags for three days of camp. The camp is in a small village near my pack's borders. Kathy joined us, and we started with our team of medics. During the day, we would trek through the forest, learning about medicinal plants and how to treat common injuries. Kathy was a natural at this, and she quickly became a valuable member of our team.
As the sun set, we would return to camp and set up our medical station. People from all over the village would come to us for check-ups and treatment. It was hard work, but incredibly rewarding. The villagers were so grateful for our help that they would cook us huge feasts every night. We ate like kings and queens, with plates piled high with delicious local dishes. As we sat around the fire, enjoying the warmth and camaraderie of our group, I felt a deep sense of satisfaction. This was what being a part of a pack was all about - helping others and working together towards a common goal. I knew that when we returned home, we would be stronger and more united than ever before.
I and Kathy shared a room. On our last day, we decided to go on a hike on a nearby mountain. The scenery was breathtaking, with lush greenery and a cool breeze blowing through the trees. As we climbed higher, the view became even more spectacular. We stopped to take pictures and catch our breath, admiring the beauty of nature around us. It was a peaceful moment, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. As we descended back down the mountain, we talked about our experiences at the day camp and how rewarding it was to help people in need. We both agreed that we would love to do it again in the future. The memories of our trip will stay with us forever, reminding us of the importance of giving back to our community and appreciating the simple pleasures in life.
The next day, as we were getting ready to head home, a group ran over to ask for assistance. A collision between two trucks resulted in four injuries. While Marcus began to tend to their wounds, a lot of blood was lost. I decided to give my blood since one of the recipients had my blood type and was a person. After the donation, Marcus was able to stop the bleeding and stabilize the injured individuals. We called for an ambulance, and within minutes, they arrived to transport the patients to the hospital.
They were about to enter the ambulance. Kathy walked towards a man in a daze. The person also took a few steps toward her; it was like they were pulled toward each other. As they got closer, Kathy recognized the man as her "mate". They embraced each other tightly, kissing each other faces. The ambulance attendants looked on in confusion but gave them a moment to reunite. Kathy and her mate caught up on time during the ride to the hospital, sharing stories. It turned out that he had been living in Harvest moon pack and had just returned to town for a visit to a store when the accident happened. The coincidence of them being in the same place at the same time was surreal. As they arrived at the hospital, they promised to get married and made plans for a family reunion. The accident may have been unfortunate, but it brought Mates together.
