Bigger problem (2)..
Lucas sat on the chair beside Max, checking his vitals. Max has shown a drastic recovery from yesterday. He was pleased with Max's progress, noting that his vitals were stable and within normal range. The drastic recovery from the previous day was a promising sign, indicating that Max's condition was improving rapidly. He took a moment to review Max's medical chart, making note of any changes in his treatment plan. With continued care and attention, there was every reason to believe that Max would make a full recovery. He turned to Max with a smile, offering words of encouragement and reassurance. "You're doing great, Alpha," he said. "If your progress continues in this way, you will be back on your feet in a few days." Max nodded, feeling grateful for the support and care he was receiving.
"What happened? Did you find the culprit who shot me?" Max asked Alvin.
Alvin hesitated before answering, unsure of how to break the news to Max. "We found the person who pulled the trigger," he finally said in a low voice.
"But it wasn't just one person. It was a group of them, all working together." Max was shocked, but he never showed it on his face as he tried to process the information.
"Where is he now?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Alvin sighed heavily before continuing. "It seems like they were hired by someone to take you out," he explained, his tone grave.
"We're still trying to figure out who that someone is." Max felt a cold sweat break out on his forehead as he realized the gravity of the situation.
He had always known that being an Alpha came with its fair share of risks, but he never thought it would come to this.
As Alvin continued to fill him in on the details of the investigation, Max could not help but wonder who would have tried to Kill him. Max remained focused on finding out who had killed him and why. With each passing moment, he grew more determined to solve this mystery and put an end to whoever was responsible for his pain and suffering.
"Why did it take so long for me to heal?" He questioned Lucas.
"Do you want to rest, or can I explain to you?" Lucas hesitated for some time. Max nodded for him to continue. Lucas took a deep breath before launching into his explanation. He spoke slowly and clearly, taking care to ensure that Max understood everything he was saying.
"You suffered a severe head injury and were shot in the back with a gun; the bullet is made of silver dipped in wolfsbane. When Alvin found you in the forest, you were barely conscious and bleeding profusely. He quickly called for an ambulance and stayed by your side until help arrived. The doctors were able to stabilize you, but it was clear that your recovery would be a long and difficult process. You spent the first month in the hospital undergoing treatment and you did not wake up. We brought you back to your quarters." Max groaned as he tried to move his arms and legs. He wanted to understand what they had given him for not healing and being on the brink of death. Jane brought a chair next to his bed and put her hand on his hand to bring him back from his thoughts.
"Though silver water and wolfbane drained from your body, there was something that halted your healing power. Perhaps it was a curse or a spell that had been cast on you. I could not shake the feeling that there was something dark and sinister lurking within you, preventing you from fully recovering. As we searched for answers, I stumbled upon an ancient book that spoke of a powerful artifact that could break any curse or enchantment." Jane took a deep breath before continuing.
"The Book is named as 'Amulet of Light,' it had the spells to dispel the darkest of magic. We found the cure for the dark magic inside you, which can be dispelled using the fated mates' blood. Fated mates were considered the ultimate bond, unbreakable and eternal. But now, their blood held the power to break even the strongest of spells. We needed your fated mate's blood to dispel the magic. "
"Lilly was your fated mate, we requested for her blood and told her to keep it a secret. We made the tea with all the ingredients and added Lilly's blood to it. " Jane said to Max.
"But I did not work for two months until we made a blood tea with some other blood." Lucas handed him the blood bag, which he took from his assistant.
"Lilly's blood was changed to this bag and I unknowably made tea. Sorry, Alpha we made a mistake which helped you to wake up from your coma." Lucas bowed his head to Alpha.
Max hesitantly looked at the blood bag as Lucas explained, "This bag came from one of the members of our pack who met with an accident in the Red blood pack."
"Lilly is not your fated mate" Jane words hit Max like a phang in his heart.
