Let me go!

LEONE

Lynette seemed pissed during dinner when I used my legs to climb on her skin, and she continuously frowned at me while trying not to make it obvious to our parents that something was going on. It made it funnier and more cute to watch her try hard to stop me.

She ended up leaving the dinner table first before every other person, and I didn't get to see her till the day ended. Waking up the next morning felt the same even if I had thought that it would feel different, but I was certain for sure that Lynette was going nowhere and neither was I. It felt so good.

The cold glare she gave me when I said I wanted to accompany them to the mall, made me chuckle because she was trying hard to make me stay away from her. And I certainly was not planning to do that.

When we all entered the car, Lynne intentionally sat on the seat beside the chauffeur and was extremely quiet throughout the journey, which compromised the situation of I and Raquel having a short discussion about myself.

I wanted to make her say something at all cost, and I had to think of something random that would be normal to talk about. I lied that Isabella asked about her that morning, when she had not even woken up by the time I went to check up on her.

It didn't do much to gain her attention since she just laughed it away, and I decided to get her phone number myself because I knew that she wouldn't give me so easily.

By the time I alighted from the car at a bus stop, I inserted a wrapped paper that had my phone number on it into her hair. I wanted her to call me.

Since the wedding was just hours away, Dad told me that he had his usual designer tailor a suit for me. As much as I hated the idea of wearing a suit to his wedding, I decided to go get the suit and also pick some other clothes for myself.

While I was checking out other outfits for myself, I waited for Lynette's call but it seemed like she wasn't going to call anytime soon. I left the designer's company after I had everything sorted out for myself, and took a cab to the beach where I was meeting my friends. We were having a surfing competition together.

I had so much fun trying hard to keep up with pace because the waves seemed even more fierce, and I won second place by the time we were done with the usual guy in first place. I checked my phone, again and again, to see if Lynette was going to call me, and it seemed like she was not interested in that

We all had a cold shower and left together to a club towards evening, to celebrate Jack's birthday, who was one of us in a grand style.

I left the party before everyone else and went to the motor shop to pick up my car which had been parked there for over three days when it developed a fault. I had not driven miles away from where I picked up the car, when a heavy rain started all of a sudden and had people running helter-skelter.

It was raining heavily coupled with the fierce wind that was blowing, which made me park my car at some random street when it got difficult to see the road clearly because of the rain.

The next call that had me driving through the situation I had avoided, was Lynn, who told me that she was trapped in some random coffee shop. It had me in tension, and I drove so fast to go and pick her up while using the car map.

.….^.....

"You should have called earlier. You are going to be sick at this rate," I scolded the moment I carried her into the car, and thanked the lady at the coffee shop who said that she was not ready to leave, when I offered to drop her to her place too.

"I didn't know the rain was going to fall!" Lynette defended herself, and I just shook my head because I didn't want us to argue when she seemed to be running a fever already.

"Just calm down and relax, okay. I'll drive us home once," I assured her and got behind the wheels immediately. My phone was ringing nonstop and also Lynette's, who could not even pick up her phone.

I knew that it was probably from Dad.

Her fever had gotten worse by the time we got home, and some maids were waiting to pick her up from my car after we both got home.

Lynette's Mum and Dad were standing in the living room by the time I entered, and he demanded to know what happened instantly. I had nothing much to say, and just said that I picked her by the road that led to our house.

Isabella ran out of the door when she heard my voice, and hugged me tightly telling me that she was now healthy enough to play. She asked about Lynette, and I told her that she was running a fever because of the rain.

The doctor came a few minutes later to attend to Lynette who had been taken to her room, and Isabella later came to my room to tell me that she was placed on medications already.

I was so bothered about her but I didn't want to go to see how she was doing, because it would seem weird that a cold person like myself, cared about a stepsister that I claimed to have just met.

There were more preparations going on for the wedding the next day at the mansion, and it got both couples so busy that they were stuck at home throughout.

Isabella innocently did the job of telling me how well Lynn was improving in health, and told me about the clothes, shoes, painting palette, and other things that she got for her.

I dropped quite a number of texts for Lynette since I had her phone number already, and there was no reply till the end of the day which really frustrated me.

The day ended and I didn't see Lynette until the next day, that was the day fixed for their wedding. The wedding was going to be held at one of the biggest resorts in the city, which was owned by one of Dad's business partners, according to him.

I sat in the perfect place in the hall to disguise myself from being noticed by any random family member who could recognize me, and the only thought that bothered me was when Lynette would arrive at the wedding that had started.

I didn't see her in the morning before leaving home, and everyone seemed to have arrived at the wedding hall except her.

Bored by whatever was going on before the crowd on the stage, I stood up and came out of the hall to look for Lynette. I decided to call and ask her where she was, but the phone was ringing nonstop with no receiver to pick up.

And just when I was about to give up finding her, I saw a figure that looked exactly like her enter one of the rooms in the right corner of the hall extension. I walked to check what room it was, and it was labeled; dressing room.

"These same manners!" Lynette yelled the moment I pushed the door open and entered, which made me smirk when I saw the expression on her face through the mirror she was standing before. She had her shirt off already, and she was left in tiny underwear. Her angry tone was a shred of evidence to know that she was doing fine.

"You should always lock the doors, remember," I sassed, "And I do not think you should hide from me like this. I mean, you are mine," I teased with a jeering tone, and she frowned.

"What?! I'm sure the sign outside read 'Ladies dressing room'. Get out now!" She yelled at my face, and I moved closer to her the more she screamed. I wanted to see what she would do.

"I do not think you want to draw people's attention to this place, and explain why the children of the couples getting married are in the same room," I threatened lightly with a mischievous grin on my face, and she sneered at me while retreating the more I came closer.

Suddenly, I grabbed her by the waist and pushed her against the wall while guiding her back with my second hand. There was barely any space between us, and I could see how erratic her heart was beating. She struggled to hold eye contact.

"Why are you playing hard to get? It is so obvious that we still have feelings for one another," I asked her seriously.

"Let me go, Leone! I don't have any feelings for you. That is in the past," She gritted her teeth and I lowered my breath to her neck like I was going to do something, which made her fight back to prevent me from doing anything.

"Stop lying. I can see that you still do. You cannot hide it."

"I do not love you, Leone, nor do I have any feelings for you. It would just be nice if you let me be!" She frowned and spat angrily at me, with her beautiful eyes glaring so fiercely like she was going to shoot laser beams at me. Her words got to me in the wrong way and hurt me, but I wasn't going to back down easily.

"I do not care if you don't like me anymore. I'll have to try even harder. You don't have feelings for me?" I cocked my head still holding her body to the wall, as a malicious grin spread across my lips, "Then I'll just have to make you fall for me again."
