Chapter 4
For a few days after that, the kiss I gave her tormented me. Every night, I vividly remember kissing her while touching my heart to feel how loud its pulse is, something like it is going to burst out of my chest. Yet, no matter how much amusement I had, the discussion we had where she would talk to me instead of passing me by as if I didn't exist on the planet didn't happen. If I was like wind back then, it now appears that not even Elijah Holmes has ever existed in the world, and only a wonderful Yavana Estes has the capability to perform that to me!
I stood at the doorway right off the bat so I wouldn't miss her passing. I will not let her keep ignoring me. I wanted to threaten her by telling that I had bought her ballet shoes and that it was now her obligation to talk to me, but if I do that, she may simply hit me with the shoe I was proud of, and she might never talk to me again. I'm at a loss on what to do. It was still early in the morning, but instead of preparing for the fight, this was the first thing that sprang to my mind.
My arms were crossed, as were my legs, and I stood with my head and arm against the door, letting out a big sigh that made you think I was burdening the environment. When Stephen Sy abruptly put his hand on my shoulder and chuckled at me, I looked around. I glared at him since he was suppressing a laugh and seemed to be mocking me. He licked his tongue once he had suppressed his laughing and was breathing normally.
"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. How can you not be bothered by your unrequited love when, instead of flirting with her, you're here now, depressing yourself and waiting for grace to rain from the sky? Why don't you go to their house now that you've claimed you've already gone there? " When he said it to me, I looked at him as though his advice was pointless. Yavana tossed me out of their house when I kissed her and after that I returned looking like this since then. Sometimes I don't know who the traitor was that provided my pals the brain.
I abruptly altered my position as I heard the commotion of the ballet dancers, which signified that they were on their way. I made some adjustments to what I was wearing. I haven't changed out of my workout clothes yet since I would like her to see me fresh. I even cleaned the dirt from my clothing to ensure they were clean, given the fact that there was no dirt on them. I also fixed my hair and finally met them, but when I walked out, Yavana was not there, just her friends. I wanted to ask one of her buddies, but they were rushing in since their instructor was also arriving.
I peeked even further at where her friends passed to make sure she wasn't left walking so I didn't spot her immediately away, but even after I stared at their path for a few seconds, there was no trace of her. I probably wouldn't have left that position if Stephen hadn't just touched me. Stephen pointed towards Albert, and I was even more disappointed not to see Yavana since Albert had to drag me back to practice. I went in, thinking she may be late.
Regardless of the fact that we were practicing, my mind was only flying in whether she had arrived. Albert hit me nineteen times, up from nine before because I was distracted. I can't say sorry for Yavana because I don't feel sorry for what happened. I'm pleased with what I did when I kissed her.
I was laying on the boxing ring, trying to catch my breath, and sweat was streaming down every part of my body. I couldn't rise up even if I wanted to since I had just closed my eyes. I didn't open my eyes when our door opened. I did not even bother to see who had come or exited. I just let my ears listen when I heard the murmurs.
"Is Elijah available?"
I felt like a corpse standing in the pit and jumping out of the ring when I heard Yavana's weak and gentle voice. I raced like a child to see my mother, who had returned from the market with a greeting gift. My companions pushed me while laughing and because of the force of their push on me, I held Yavana in both of her arms.
"WHY ARE YOU SEARCHING FOR ME?" Because I was so eager to talk to her, my voice became louder, which caused my buddies to giggle. Albert was also fighting back a smile, perhaps because he was delighted that while I was waiting for Yavana, it was also giving fruit little by little.
She looked at the men behind me and, despite my sweat, she yanked my hand away. As we went, she held my hand while I walked behind her, and I observed how she did so. It's as if we have our own universe, and we're headed to a destination that only the two of us will know. As she kicks my foot, I snap back to reality. The time was perfect for me because I had already removed my boxing gloves before she dragged me.
When we came to a full halt, she pulled something from her bag, and I was frightened that she would return the ballet shoes to me, despite the fact that I had no intention of taking them and it"s okay if she would never speak to me again. It was enough for me to leave her with something I knew she'd cherish.
When I was ready to tell her that she didn't have to do what we agreed about and that she didn't have to return the shoes to me, she suddenly brought out a bento box, and I couldn't believe what I saw since it was right in front of me. Her ear reddened as she averted her gaze from mine.
