Chapter 2 She’s Married
Chapter 2 She’s Married
“No woman has dared to say such things to Mr. Grant!” The assistant’s eyes widened in shock while he thought, “Is this woman crazy?”
Although Janae was smiling as she stood in front of Freddie, her heart was actually jumping in her throat. However, once she decided to do something, she would never waver.
Therefore, Janae straightened her back and forced herself to face the man’s dignified gaze.
“Janae Frost?”
Freddie’s thin lips slowly parted, and his charming voice enunciated her name.
Janae clenched her fists bravely. “Yes.”
Freddie stared at the woman in front of him, his cold face was expressionless. Then, he turned to glance at his assistant and said something surprising, “Give me her information.”
Meanwhile, Janae pursed her lips tightly and suppressed the joy in her heart, waiting for the man’s final decision.
The assistant didn’t dare to disobey Freddie’s orders and immediately handed him all of Janae’s information.
A few minutes later, he uttered casually, “Okay.”
At that moment, Janae finally heaved a sigh of relief.
He had agreed!
Marrying Freddie was a win-win decision. At least, they would benefit from each other without complicating things. Neither did they need the so-called love.
As for Kolten, she would make him drown in remorse.
The registration procedure was quickly completed. By the time Janae left the registrar office with Freddie, she had a marriage certificate in her hand.
Never had she expected that getting married was so effortless.
The sunlight was glaring, but it could not be compared with the dazzling man beside her.
“Um… Mr. Grant, can I talk to you for a few minutes?” Janae called out to him. There was a hint of nervousness in her voice. Even after getting her marriage certificate, she still felt distant from him. Nevertheless, it seemed to be a good thing.
Freddie frowned because of the way she’d addressed him. The impassiveness in his eyes disappeared in a flash, then he replied, “Okay.”
Janae took a few quick steps and followed him into the car.
“What did you want to talk about?” He looked at her with a deep gaze, and his posture of leaning against the seat appeared very noble.
“We’re legally husband and wife now, but… I don’t want to make it public for the time being.” Janae lowered her head and rubbed her fingertips as she spoke carefully.
“Why?” Instead of refusing directly, he inquired in a low voice.
“I want to solve some personal matters privately. It won’t take long!”
While listening to her explanation, Freddie smiled meaningfully. His response was extremely dangerous. “Sure, but I’ll give you three months at most.”
“I’ll send someone to pick you up tomorrow.”
“Pick me up?” Janae didn’t have time to react and looked at him in confusion.
“You’re Mrs. Grant now, so we should be living under the same roof.” As he glanced at the marriage certificate in Janae’s hand, his words carried a deeper meaning.
Janae thought for a moment and didn’t seem to have any reason to object, hence she nodded obediently. “I agree.”
After that, she got out of the car at the intersection and watched as the black Bentley drove out of her sight. She felt as if she was on cloud nine. She had gotten married just like that, and the fact that it was to a distinguished man was simply icing on top.
With a hammering heart and surging emotions, Janae braced herself and then took a taxi home after calming down. She still had many things to do!
In the interim, Freddie’s car drove towards an intersection.
He casually flipped open the newspaper and instructed his assistant, “You can tell the old master that I’m married now. Also, check if something has happened to Janae recently.”
If he was not mistaken, he remembered that Janae was the best actress who made a name for herself two years ago, widely known as the goddess of the entertainment industry. Nevertheless, she had somehow retired in her prime and had an affair with the young master of Glory Entertainment, Kolten Jacobson.
Freddie wondered what Janae’s motive was in taking the initiative to marry him.
Thinking of her appearance earlier, however, a smile formed on his face.
