CHAPTER 7
Three months later
I had been street fighting for a few months now and let me just say my wolf was dead on.
He hadn't been kidding when he said that street fighting would help our technique. I was more alert now. My senses had heightened incredibly and it was rare that anyone could even touch me in a fight, wolf or human.
My stamina was off the charts and I had gained so much muscle I looked like a different person.
On top of the street fighting I had been training non-stop. We had been into four territories of rogues so far running sometimes twenty or thirty miles until we came across one. All of them were cowering with fear by the time we left. My wolf had grown and was huge now, maybe around five and a half feet tall. All the fights we were winning had also quadrupled his strength.
Girls were throwing themselves at me, humans and wolves alike. I hated it. They made me think of what a slut Ashley was.
I wanted a girl that saved herself for me. A girl that truly cared. Not some blonde bimbo who couldn't keep her legs closed long enough to step out of a damn car. I mean sure I was no virgin, yeah the nerd actually got some, but I wasn't a player and even if it turned out she wasn't a virgin I at least wanted her to have self respect.
I personally took no pride in breaking girls' hearts so it had only been a select few and half the time it was against my better judgment. The ones I slept with were nice girls who actually held themselves to a higher standard. They told me I wasn't like other guys and actually cared which is why they chose me.
We all knew we would find our mates one day and normally I would try to remain friends so they wouldn't feel like I took advantage of them. I was never popular and the friends I did have I cherished.
I didn't like to think about any of my friends from my old pack, the pack I was a part of before I met Ashley. It wasn't the best but I had met some decent people. Most of the pack had been wiped out and I didn't want to believe that they were dead.
Especially Jack and Marie. They were a mated couple and two of the nicest people I had ever met. They stuck up for me when no one else would. If I could have anyone as beta I would want it to be Jack. He was the most loyal person I would ever meet. Anyway, that's depressing so next subject.
I was currently finishing a street fight. The guy I was fighting was supposed to be the strongest there was. I guess they hadn't met me. He came towards me several times and I dodged him. It was child's play now that I had improved. He went in for a punch and I grabbed his fist not even using a fourth of my strength. It wouldn't be fair since he was human. My wolf also informed me that there may be times when I wouldn't have my full strength like if I was bound with silver or infected with wolfsbane, I needed to be prepared for anything.
He crumbled to the floor and I let him up not really wanting the fight to end this quickly. He stared at me and I could smell his fear. This was my favorite part.
He got up and prepared to come at me with everything he had. I just stood there waiting. When he got close enough I punched him once in the gut and he went flying. His back hit a brick wall and it cracked from the impact. Yeah I know but I couldn't use my full strength, the humans would get suspicious.
They stared at me and I just gave them a nonchalant look. Someone called an ambulance for the guy and no one said a word as I collected my money.
Lucky for me the building he flew into was old and abandoned or I would probably have to pay for it. I had already had to pay to get the sidewalk repaved and a couple roofs redone. The people never questioned me though.
I went back to my apartment after running the perimeter. My wolf had told me even though we were in human territory we still had to be on alert. Any weres around he wanted to know about it.
"Any rogue fighting before we call it a night?" I asked him.
"No, we must save strength so eat plenty and sleep."
"Why?" I asked curiously.
"Because we are ready to take our rightful position. You will need it."
