Chapter 6
Gabriella swallowed painfully before she spoke. Whenever Sam's skin came in contact with hers, she felt something like a jolt of electricity which made her shiver. Staying sane whenever their bodies were in contact was something she's been trying to put up with tonight.
"Bu....but I didn't come with a change of clothes."
"I'll give you one of my shirts to sleep in and I'll have a dress delivered for you very early tomorrow."
Gabby heaved a sigh and looked into his pleading eyes. "You want me to stay don't you?"
He instantly replied with a nod.
"A sleepover it is then." She smiled.
Samuel picked Gabriella up, he spun her around which earned a chuckle from her before he finally made her sit on the kitchen counter.
He kissed her right cheek. "Thank you!"
Gabby ran her fingers through his soft, silky hair. "I should be the one thanking you for everything. I'm really grateful, not only for today but for every other help you've rendered to me."
"You're a very busy person and you still make time for me. You tutor and mentor me, you also listen to all my rants and worries and you give the best advice."
"My life has never been the same since I met you." She confessed to Sam who had a proud smile on his face.
"The same goes for me too. There's just something about you that makes me go crazy every time."
"Oh please!" She blushed.
"I'm serious. And don't think you're the only one having goosebumps or feeling shivers whenever our body comes in contact. I feel them too." He admitted.
Gabriella blushed even more.
"Maybe it's time we define whatever is going on between us and perhaps try to give it a label" Samuel voiced out, his eyes not leaving Gabby's own, not wanting to miss her reaction.
"A label?" She whispered and he nodded.
This was something Gabby had secretly asked herself. To her, it wasn't clear if She and Samuel were an item because it felt like they already were. But so she won't end up heartbroken, she always reminded herself that neither them never made anything official.
And hearing Samuel voice out her thoughts made her pretty nervous.
She had always wanted them to discuss their relationship and now that it was happening, she didn't know why she was internally chickening out.
"I want you to be mine, Gab. Please, be my girlfriend"
Gabriella was shocked by how direct, sincere and confident Sam was.
"Don't you think you're too good for me?"
Samuel shook his head.
"I mean, you can have any woman of your dreams. Me on the other hand, I'm just Gabriella King, an average college student who has almost nothing to offer you not to talk of how clumsy I am and how quick I am to fuck things up."
"You're too good for me Samuel and I don't even think I'm worthy of you."
Sam cupped Gabby's face in his hands. He could tell she was holding back tears.
Gabby liked Sam very much. She just felt she needed to clear the air. He has to be a hundred percent sure he wants her before they get into anything serious.
"If you knew me before our path crossed, you would notice I've been happier, I've been less of a workaholic and it's all because of you, Gabby."
"I've known you only for a couple of months and it seems like we've been friends since forever. To be honest, I've never felt what I feel for you with anyone else. Not even the mother of my daughter who I thought I was head over heels for."
"If you're thinking I'll cheat on you or get tired of you and move on to another woman then you're wrong because you and I are meant for each other. I know it and I can feel it. I can even see it in your eyes, you love me as much as I do."
"I don't want to hear you speak oddly about yourself again because you're born worthy and it would be a great honour for me to call you my girlfriend."
"I'm not perfect either but I know the two of us will make a great team."
He wiped a tear that was about to roll down Gabby's right eye.
"It's okay if you need time to think about it, I'll understand. But please don't say NO. I don't think I'll be able to bear such heartbreak." He completed, looking at her expectantly- waiting for her to say something.
"Okay." She whispered.
Sam wrinkled his eyebrow. "You'll think about it?"
She shook her head and said shyly. "I accept to be your girlfriend."
Samuel's lips slowly curved into a smile before politely connecting it to Gabby's own.
It took awhile for her to respond but she eventually gave in to the passionate kiss.
She felt Sam smile against her lips when she let her guard down and gave him entrance to explore every inch of her mouth.
Kissing him, in reality, was far better than kissing him in fantasy.
After they pulled away, Samuel placed a long kiss on Gabriella's forehead. "Thank you!" He muttered.
"Thank you too for choosing me." She smiled. "I'm very good at making awful decisions but replying to your message on that crappy site is definitely an achievement I'm proud of."
Sam chuckled. "I noticed. You sounded angry in your first reply which was after 24 hours I think."
Gabby laughed. "I was pissed when you asked me for directions on how to use the site. I mean the site was so popular that there were tutorials everywhere."
Samuel scratched the back of his head shyly. "My best friend was tired of me moping around and keeping to myself so he signed me up."
"I asked about four people for help that night and only two of you replied. The other person replied immediately, calling me a dummy."
"I sort of gave up on the site and blamed Evan for signing me up to a site full of snubs. Then, your reply came the next day and the rest is history."
"Sorry about that," Gabby uttered with a sad smile.
"It's fine. Looking back, it's all worth it."
The duo talked some more before retiring to the bedroom to call it a night.
The suite had only one master bedroom which of course belonged to sam. It was exquisitely decorated that Gabby couldn't help but awe. It gave such a comforting homey feeling.
"No wonder you spend so much time here." She turned to Sam who was standing right beside her. He was indeed a man with great taste.
Sam chuckled. "My bedroom at home is pretty much the same as this. I just happen to spend more time here because it's closer to my office and I can monitor the hotel."
"Remember that spot?" Sam asked as he snuck his left arm around Gabby's waist and directed her attention to a golden brown sofa on the other side of the room.
"Of course I do." She smiled. It was his favourite spot for their facetime.
"So what do we do now?" Gabby asked.
"Anything you want. We can cuddle and entertain ourselves with some movies. Or we can talk all through the night. You know I don't get tired when it comes to making conversations with you." He answered.
"Sounds good but I would love to take a shower first."
"I can help you take a shower if you don't mind." He said with a genuine smile, obviously joking but he wouldn't dare refuse her offer if she said YES.
"Oh, really?" She countered ignoring the blush that was slowly creeping to her cheeks.
"Yes ma'am, I don't say what I don't mean."
"Just a shower and nothing more. You promise?" She dared, shyly biting her lips in the process. She could see Sam's eyes slowly turning to that of desire.
He caressed her crimson red cheek with a slight smile on his face. "You're such a tease, babe. But don't worry, I give you my word."
"This is going to be one of the best showers you've taken in a while." He whispered with a husky voice which made the tiny hairs at the back of Gabby's head stand erect.
