So we're toxic?

A few days later

After the wonderful evening I'd spent with Austin's friends, today was the big day, when my classes would start, and I was looking forward to it. I'd exchanged numbers with Eleanor, and we'd talked a lot during the days we hadn't seen each other.

I arranged to meet her at the university entrance, and just as arranged, she arrived and took me by the arm and showed me around the campus. A while later, we went out to look for our group, who I think will also be my friends.

When Eleanor showed them to me from afar, I was happy and went on my way, but I hadn't paid attention to a certain person who was there with them.

"I can't believe it," I said as soon as I approached the boys and the big head rolled his eyes.

"I say the same thing," he said.

"Hey Cassy, are you calm?" said Austin, teasing me.

"Why would I be? You've never seen me stressed, little cousin," I said, smiling yellow.

"I'm calm today, no problem." he said, raising his hands.

"I said she's unbearable," said Zac, grumbling.

"Shut up, you!" I practically shouted at him.

The whole group held its breath when I said that to Zac, that asshole was driving me crazy, and I didn't even know him properly. He drove me crazy, he brought out a negative side in me, a side that I just hated.

"What? Big head?" Harry decided to open his mouth and laugh, making me laugh softly too. Harry was one of my cousin's friends. He was handsome, had the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen and a charming smile.

But one of the things that caught my eye about him was his hair, which was brown and long and had thick, curly waves. Harry was tall and very, very attractive, but the fact that he was the pick-up type put me off any attachment to him.

"Yeah, big head. Tell me why is that in your hair?" I said, referring to the full-length bleached lock in his hair. Even though I thought it was charming, I was going to tease him, and he didn't need to know what I was thinking.

"It's none of your business, you abusive girl," said Zac.

"Well, guys, I think we'd better avoid a fight," Eleanor said, "Austin, why don't you introduce Zac to your cousin?" My newest friend, Eleanor, said to try and smooth over the argument that was brewing there.

"I think so too," said Liam, somewhat seriously.

"Oh, that's fine," said Austin a little awkwardly. "Cassy, this is Zac and brother, this is my much-loved cousin," my cousin said as he introduced us, and I crossed my arms.

"Unfortunately, I already know that one!" I said as I nodded and pointed at Zac.

"Forget me, girl!" he said and snorted.

"Impossible," I said to him.

"Why? Did you fall in love?" he said with a smile. What a beautiful smile.

"Ugly things, you know, you don't forget them easily because it's a nightmare, and it's hard to get them out of your head," I said, turning towards my cousin "Austin, please sleep in my room tonight? Because I think I'm going to have a very unpleasant nightmare!" I said provocatively, and the boys laughed, along with Eleanor.

"What's so funny? Do you see any clowns here?" he said, and I saw how red his face was, it had made him very angry.

"Enough, we'll stop and Cassy, leave him alone," said Austin.

"All right, just because you asked me to," I said at last. I was exhausted from fighting with Zac. This wasn't normal, we were like two children at the height of childishness.

"I'd like a hug too, is that okay?" said Harry, making me laugh.

"Come here, beautiful, give me that hug." I said to him, and he literally ran towards me, making me laugh and squeeze him in my arms.

"Austin my friend, what a cousin... I love this girl!" said Ash, Austin's friend and Eleanor's boyfriend.

"Unbearable." said Zac quietly, but everyone heard him.

"It'll work out..." said Jack, and I stared at him. I thought he was super cute with his rosy cheeks.

"Yes, it will, and a lot of fighting. Because this guy thinks he's going to talk to me like he talks to the girls he hangs out with," I said.

"Cassy, I think you'd better stop fighting," said my friend, and I looked at her "I wanted to ask you to join the dance group because in three months we're going to have a performance. We haven't chosen who's going to be the leader yet, and we need a solo couple. Maybe you'll pass the tests." Eleanor said happily to me.

"Cassy dances? You're kidding!" Austin laughs and looks at me, giving me a communicative look.

"She dances that badly?" Zac sneers and smiles sarcastically.

"No, she dances like hell, my family's all winners, my cousin's cat sings, dances, does theater. She's amazing." And there was my cousin, advertising me without knowing if I wanted everyone to know.

"So you see Cassy, please, the auditions? It's in five days!" said Eleanor.

"I don't know, it's been a while since I've been involved in these things," I said, feeling a sense of dread wash over me.

"Go on Cassy, the interesting thing is that you'll get on more." Liam smiled sympathetically at me.

"But what about the cheerleader here at school?" I asked.

"She didn't pass the first tests, they thought she was quite vulgar in the dances she performed. Jack said.

"And who would be my date, if I passed and took part?" I asked and heard someone cough and looked at my cousin, who was puffing out his chest.

"Your handsome cousin here." I hadn't been to these kinds of events for a while, but knowing that Austin would be there helped me a lot!

"Then I'll do it." I said and they shouted in celebration.

"Really?" asks Eleanor.

"Very seriously, then I think you'd better start preparing me," I say, and she jumps up and comes over to me and hugs me.

Being here away from everything I was used to made me nervous. The news is scary and frightening. However, the new news brings good things and one of them was the friendship I was creating with that circle of people, and even though that asshole Zac is part of it, I'm happy there, very happy.
