They're engaged

Erica fell to the bed with Aurelio beside her, he held her so tight in his hands and pulled her more closer to himself while she rested her head on his chest giggling lowly.

“I never knew you could be this childish” she laughed at him.

He laughed to and replied “I guess there’s a time for everything and that was the time” he replied raising a brow at her with a side smile.

She inhaled deeply as she slowly closed her eyes “promise me you won’t go back to the hotel” Aurelio said to her

“I won’t and I promise” she replied with a look of sincerity on her face

Aurelio kissed her forehead and rubbed his hands on her arms stroking her gently.

“I told you, you will not be able to get mad at me” Erica laughed lowly

“ Well you are right” he replied

“So how did it go in the headquarters, you got what you wanted from your parents right?” she asked him.

“Hmm yes I did, the announcement was made already.. I’ll do the finishing which tomorrow, I had to come see you” he replied

“Oh yeah before I forget, you would be coming with me to the company tomorrow, like I said.. you are Mrs CEO” he said to her

She raised her head up a little bit to look at his face and saw he was serious..

“ Really? I know nothing about how you run your company” she replied with a low laugh

“You might not know anything about it yet but trust me, with time you will know all about it and even if you don’t, it’s okay if I can just keep seeing your face” he replied with a shrug

“But I might leave earlier before you, and I don’t want you to rush to the company. You can come anytime you want to, you are always welcomed” he replied her

“Wow… thanks” she smiled.

Erica pictured herself already how she would work in majestically into the mighty and beautiful company her fiance manages now with staffs all around looking at her..

What’s that feeling going to be like?

It’s definitely a new her.

“Why should you thank me, it’s your right. Your position and you will get it” he replied and before she could say anything again, he spoke up

“You should sleep, you already had enough for today.. I hope you ate well honey” he said to her ears softly

“ Yes I did, thanks love” she smiled

“I really wish you would keep calling me those sweet names” Aurelio said but with a pleading look

Erica only laughed and pull him more closer “I want to sleep now” she replied

“Fine, I’ll cuddle you to sleep” he replied and stroked her smooth arms as she slowly drifted off to sleep.

The Next Day.

Erica already got up from the bed as early as possible. Yes, she left Aurelio on the bed and went down to the kitchen to make breakfast, she has to be the woman that she is.

Recently, she had Always been eating meals the maid prepares for her, but this time she prefers to make her meal herself and let everyone eat it.

She walked down the hallway and could see some maids around. No single one of them saw her and didn’t greet.

It's either she return a waving hand at them or she smile and reply them.

And just as she got to the kitchen, a maid was standing by the door and bowed her head at her.

“Good morning Ma, breakfast would be ready soon” she said to her and Erica chuckled

“Really? No it shouldn’t” she smiled and walked in to the kitchen for the first time

Yes it was her first time, she wasn’t just amazed at the size, she was amazed at the beauty, it was a complete kitchen with complete kitchen utensils, applications and all.

“Mrs Aurelio?” Mrs Davis, the female Butler called her surprised to see her in the kitchen

“Oh hi ma’am” Erica greeted her with a low bow

“Oh dear, you don’t have to do that” she said immediately to her

“ No, why shouldn’t I?” Erica replied and walked in to the kitchen.

All the maids around began to wonder what she was looking for in the kitchen.

“My dear do you need anything?” Mrs Davis asked her

“Nope, I just need the kitchen” she replied as she walked to the cooker and ran her fingers on it with a smile.

“Is everything okay?”

“Did you clean it so well?” maids began to ask themselves

Erica could hear them and laughed

“Why don’t you all go relax while I make breakfast?” she smiled

Their eyes went wide immediately out of fear.

No, that is like signing their own Death warrant. They won’t just lose their job. They would get something they don’t even imagine to receive from Mr. Maynard and Mr. Bertram.

All of them rushed to high, immediately begging her “Ma? Please did we do anything you can just tell us than for you to say this” they pleaded one by one.

Erica wasn’t just taking aback. She felt like laughing out.

“But what’s wrong? I don’t get anything!” she laughed lowly

“All I am saying is I want to make breakfast myself, Y’all been trying, Or I don’t know how long you’ve been working for him, but all I’m saying is let me make Breakfast today by myself all alone, please. That’s all” she smiled.

They were all so surprised, she was the first lady they would ever see this way in the mansion.

“Ma?” Mrs Davis asked her

“And ma’am it’s Erica please” Erica said to her with a smile

“But Ma, Please, I don’t think that’s a good idea” one of them said

“Oh how? Explain” Erica replied

“Mr Aurelio might get it all wrong and punish us” she said already sweating

“Oh, you mean that? Hmm…Don’t worry, he won’t, I will let him know I was the one that requested for it. so you all should please go sit back and let me make breakfast” Erica smiled as she looked round the kitchen.

“Where do I start?” she muttered

The maids weren’t just surprised, they were happy to see she is this kind of person and they really want to learn from her.

“No we won’t seat back, we will watch you and learn from you” one of them said

“Yes and assist too” another added

Erica gave a broad smile and shrugged her shoulders. “Alright then, in that case, Let’s cook” She smiled

“And what are we making?” one of them asked happily

“Hmmm, different meals, let’s start with Eggs Benedict” she replied

“Wow, what’s it like” a maid asked and one by one they laughed

“You won’t blame me, I am not a kitchen maid so I don’t know most of your recipes” she replied with a pout

“Well, its okay, we learn Everyday just as some of you here don’t know how to clean the way she does, Eggs Benedict is a brunch specialty consisting of hot buttered English muffins, Canadian-style bacon, and poached eggs topped with a rich Hollandaise sauce” Erica explained

“Mouth watering already” she replied

“Yep, it can be topped with roasted potatoes, but then..let’s make it” Erica clapped her hands.

“I’ll be right back” she said as she left the kitchen with her phone to keep it in the dining room.

Aurelio’s mom was ready in the living room and Erica didn’t notice. As soon as she dropped her phone, she went back to the kitchen immediately and picked up an apron to wear.

“so for the Hollandaise Sauce, we’ll need 4 egg yolks, 3 ½ tablespoons lemon juice, 1 tablespoon water, ⅛ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 pinch ground white pepper, 1 teaspoon hot water, or more as needed , 1 cup butter, melted” she said as all of them went one by one to get what she requested for

“Can I have the salt, distilled white vinegar, 8 eggs strips, 8 Canadian-style bacon, 4 English muffins, split 2 tablespoons butter, softened” she said

“ Yes ma’am, coming right away”

“Sorry I don’t know where all these are yet” she laughed

In less than 30 minutes, she was done with that and moved on to the next meal.

Aurelio was in his room, He had just left the bathroom. He noticed the bed was empty when he woke up and he knew probably she already went downstairs.

In no time he dressed up in his suits, ready for the day’s work and then he stepped out of his room.

After walking through the hallway, he finally got down the foyer But was surprised to see his mum seated in the living room.

“Mom? What you doing here? Where’s Erica?” He asked immediately

His mum said nothing but to smile and then she pointed at the kitchen.

Aurelio raised his brows “kitchen? Why kitchen?!!” He half yelled that some of the maids could hear and jerk in fear.

Erica had him too, and then she stopped what she was doing to leave the kitchen going to see him.

He saw her standing in apron, and then his eyes went wide.

“What are you doing in that??” He exclaimed

“What? Why you making a fuss? Do you think I won’t cook again because I’m pregnant? I am not even heavily pregnant” she replied clicking her tongue.

He said nothing but sniff in. He knew something was smelling and it was a very beautiful aroma

“What’s cooking?” He smiled and Erica laughed

“I am making breakfast, I chose to..so don’t yell or do whatever to the maids okay hunny bunny?” She winked at him

His mum laughed Lowly and that was when Erica saw her.

“Oh my goodness, Lala” she smiled and went to her for a hug

“Oh dear, you shouldn’t have bothered, you were busy” she smiled as she hugged Erica

“Yes, I was busy, but at least I need to greet you” She replied

“Aurelio…you don’t disturb her. She’s busy, OK?” she said to him.

Erica went back to him and crossed her hands around his neck to whisper into his ears.

“Come sit down, I’m making breakfast for you” she said to him and slowly a side smile appeared on his face

“Really?” he smiled and walked to the dining while she went back to the kitchen.

Mr Bertram and Mr Maynard already arrived home and it was a surprise because no one was expecting the both of them.

They love the smell of the aroma. The atmosphere was just many so good.

Erica was done and brought the dishes out of the kitchen with the help of other maids.

She already prepared Quiche Lorraine I, Fiddlehead and Bacon Omelette,French Toast and Bananas Foster Belgian Waffles.

“And a cup of black coffee for you honey” she said to Aurelio placing it before him.

There was no one around that didn’t smile

“I am so happy I’m alive to see this” Mr Maynard said

Erica took a seat beside Aurelio and pulled a glass of water to herself and that was when Aurelio’s father noticed the ring in her finger.

“Wait a minute!” he gasped and tapped his wife beside him.

“You’re engaged??” he asked seeing another Ring in Aurelio’s finger

“Yes, and that is what I was about to say to you all”

“THEY’RE ENGAGED!!” Aurelio’s mom dramatically screamed happily.
