Erica could see the look on their face, they were happy to hear that.

“My son is engaged?” Mrs Bertram gasped

“isn’t it a good thing?” Aurelio replied his mom

“What do you mean good? Super great” she replied clapping her hands.

His father had a smile on his face, a very happy one and so did his grandpa.

“Well Aurelio has grown to be a man. Erica, you really worked on him” his grandpa said and she returned a smile.

“When is the wedding holding? It’s going to be the best ever in the city. Everyone will hear of this wedding” Mr Bertram replied

“The wedding….” Erica said lowly

She hasn’t thought of it yet, “Uhm, Aurelio…” she called him raising her brows at him.

“Next week, weekend would be the best” he replied and her eyes went wide open

“Who plans wedding in a week??” she asked him almost aloud.

“This family” Mr Bertram replied with a side smile

“Exactly, it isn’t hard is it? I’ll help with the dress, you will definitely look so good that day that my son Aurelio won’t be able to recognize you” she assured her with a smile

“And I’ll do most of the spending, the most expensive and fancy hotel will be used that day. I’m gonna rent it out” Mr Bertram replied

“ I know you all will do something about it” Aurelio laughed

“So Aurelio, why do you want to marry her?” Mr Maynard asked him

Erica was a little confused at his question.

“Why? Are you still asking me grandpa? Erica has given me a reason to live, she’s my life… why wouldn’t I?” he replied his father

“ Of course I know that, she is already and I am grateful to her for that, my grandson isn’t that crazy creature anymore.. and you know what I mean” Mr Maynard smirked at him while Aurelio laughed out

“ I am so happy for the both of you, you’ve got yourself a woman that can make good meals, I think I’ll be coming over frequently” his father laughed and they all did same too

“Erica isn’t just a wife material, she is mother material.. it’s obvious to me” Lala replied

“Thank you so much” Erica gave a smile

How would she express her gratitude, she was more than thankful she got into the right family.

She left a family that found her unworthy to be called theirs and got into a family that accepted her with so much joy.

They all had breakfast together with happy smiles on their face. Mrs Camila never stopped talking about how she will take care of her grandkids and how she will pamper them.

Mr Bertram on the other hand kept talking about how he will send his grand kids abroad, Mr Maynard talking about their protection. Everyone of them said something while Erica just sat down to listen and smile.

As soon as they were done eating, Aurelio stood up first “Really a good meal, the best so far” Mrs Bertram said

“I’ll be coming here more often honey” her husband replied her and she clicked her tongue.

“We’ll see about that” she replied

There was so much joy in the atmosphere “Uhm honey, I’ll be leaving now” Aurelio said to Erica as he walked to her and pecked her forehead

“Thanks for the meal” he said with a smile and she smiled too shaking her head.

“I owe you” he added and turned to his parents

“So dad, mom and grandpa.. see you another time” he said with a low bow at them and then he made his way to the door

“Erica, aren’t you going too?” his mom asked her.

By this time, Aurelio already left the house. Erica sighed and shrugged “Well I will, I’ll go get dressed” she said and stood up from her seat as she made her way up the foyer.

“Alright then” Mr Bertram replied.

Erica happily walked through the hallway. She kept smiling nonstop and finally got to her doorstep, then slowly turned the door knob open.

As soon as she got in, the first thing she did was to take off her clothes and then she walked into her bathroom Humming sweet sounds lowly.

She stepped into the Shower as she closed the glass door slowly behind her. She slowly closed her eyes and turned on the shower, allowing the water flow down from her head to her toes as she imagined her parents facial expression when they find out that the girl they loathe and always rejected is the same girl, wife of a CEO and a mob boss.

She laughed lowly and ran her hands through her hair

“Be like boom!”

Few minutes later. She stepped out of the bath and Stepped on the rug in the bathroom to dry her feet.

The towel was tied around her chest and another was around her head to dry her hair. She stretched out her arms as she inhaled deeply, then looked around her room.

Aurelio isn’t home this time, she’s going to pick her clothes herself, Good enough for her. They already went shopping to get clothes.

She strolled to her the door of her walk-in closet and turned the door knob open.

A smile slowly appeared on her face and then she took slow steps further to explore.

She got to where her gowns were hung and slowly moved her fingers on them.

“No, I think something more simple and sweet is okay” she said to herself and turned to reach for second option.

About a few minutes later, she stepped out of her walk-in closet dressed up in a White long high waist pants on a purple long sleeve crop shirt, she wore a white bracelet around her left hand and a silver necklace around her neck then a shining silver stilettos.

Erica walked to her dressing table and wore some big earrings, brushed her hair and used her body spray before she walked out of her room with a white shoulder bag.

As soon as she got back to the massive living room, her father in law, Mr Bertram saw her and gasped “beautiful! Really ready for the day” he said immediately and his wife turned to her too

“Oh my! You’re going to work sweetheart? You should not right? You’re pregnant” she said

“Oh no Lala, I am not heavily pregnant please let me work, just for sometime..I need to be seeing his face you know” she smiled knowing Mrs. Bertram understood her and she did.

“Wow! Love” she smiled and turned her face away with a broad smile on her face.

“I already scheduled a meeting with Dr Regal, he is out family doctor so tomorrow we’ll be going for check-up on you and your baby” she said to Erica.

“Okay sure” Erica replied and walked down the stairs

“Yeah, before you Leave..I have a gift for you” Mr Maynard said to her and stood up from his seat.

Erica tilted her head to the left and folded her lips in “Ohh okay” she smiled

“Come with me dearie” he said to her and walked out of the house with her.

She was expectant

Curious

And nervous..

She walked beside him and Mr and Mrs Bertram were following them behind till they got to the garage.

Erica could feel her heart pounding heavily, what could it be??

“Open it” he ordered the guards beside and slowly the doors were lifted up revealing a white Maserati GranTurismo parked and waiting for the owner.

“Grand.. grandpa…?” she stuttered

Her eyes slowly went open “it is yours dear” he replied and passed the keys to her.

“Oh my goodness!! Are you for real? Is this mine??” she screamed as she pulled him to a hug immediately

“oh dear” Mrs Camila smiled

“yes it’s yours” Mr Maynard replied and she slowly and shakily accepted the key..

“I would he forever grateful” she said to him already breaking down in tears

“oh c’mon don’t cry dear, you shouldn’t go to the company with a puffy eyes or Aurelio would scold me” Mr Bertram said to her as she chuckled and wiped her eyes.

“You should try it out, you should even go with it today” Mr Maynard said and she walked to the car gawking at it.

“Mr—” she was cut short

“ah ah, no more words.. you’re running late, he’s your driver if you need him and you should get going. It’s just a gift so no more words” Mr Maynard replied.

She nodded her head and immediately went into the driver seat to explore, “this is amusing” she said lowly and went to the backseat

“I’ll drool later” she laughed as her driver then walked in and drove her away

“byeee” she waved at them behind.

She was more than comfortable in the car, the atmosphere was cool and was smelling nice.

She took out her lip gloss from her bag and used a little on her lips.

Meanwhile,

Ronald had left Texas after he lost his job, he kept looking for jobs there but he got none and then he came over to Los Angeles then heard of BerCam Paragon groups and thought of coming over to try his luck.

He pulled his car to a halt before the company and was about stepping out but then he heard a horn from behind.

He looked behind and Could see the white Maserati horning from behind, immediately he drove away to park more better.

The security guards could notice who was in the car, the valet too could see and some of the employees could.

One of the security men walked to the car door where she was seated and opened it slowly making way for her to step out.

Ronald had parked more properly and was about going in to the company before he heard

“Madam Erica, welcome” the security guy said to her as she stepped out of the car in a dark shade.

She gave a side smile “you can call me Mrs Erica or Mrs Aurelio” she replied and slowly walked away

Ronald raised his brows.. “Erica?” he only knows one Erica.

And the one he was looking at doesn’t look like the one he knows.

He watched her walk in to the company majestically cat walking with her hair bouncing on her shoulders.

“Good morning ma” a staff greeted

“welcome ma”

“morning all” she smiled at the employees she could see and waved her hands.

Ronald walked in and that was when she just took off her shades.

He could only see her side view and became confused.

“Erica?” he thought for a minute

“No not possible” he laughed and adjusted himself as he walked past her to the receptionist.

Erica on the other hand didn’t notice him either because she was talking with a staff.

“he is in his office, the 6th floor ma’am” the female staff said to him

“Okay thanks” Erica replied as she turned to leave.

“You’re here for an interview right?” the receptionist asked Ronald

“Yeah” he replied

“6th floor, that’s the CEO office sir” she said to him and then he walked away to the elevator.

About minutes later, Erica stepped out of the elevator and made her way to his office, she got to the door and knocked gently.

“It’s open” she heard Aurelio’s voice from inside and then she stepped in with a smile.

“Honey…” she smiled at him and could see a broad smile appear on Aurelio’s face.

He pulled his chair back and made his way to her.

“Wow wow wow” he smiled

“Honey you’ve got perfect curves that I’m afraid other men are seeing” he said as she chuckled and wrapped her hands around his neck

Not so long, they heard a knock on the door.

“Oh expecting anyone?” She asked him

“Yeah come sit, I can stand and attend to him. He’s applying for a job” Aurelio replied

“oh attend to him while I look round your office” she replied as she walked to his table and kept her bag down

“you look beautiful anyways” he added

“thanks handsome” she replied and he chuckled

“come in” Aurelio said and slowly the door went open revealing Ronald with his big envelope.

“Good morning Sir” Ronald bowed his head immediately

“Come in please” Aurelio replied and gestured him to seat down while he leaned on the table.

Ronald saw Erica by the book shelf holding a book in her hand.

“Honey do you read all these books?” Erica asked him

“Yeah I do” he replied

“ you should focus on him, I don’t want to disturb you” she replied. Aurelio smiled and turned to Ronald.

“So your name?” he asked Ronald

“Ronald Don” he replied and Erica’s eyes went wide open, she turned around immediately that Ronald turned to her too.

“Erica??” he gasped shocked to see his ex.
