Chapter 3

The fresher's party had started in full and dancers, smokers, and strippers were already popping champagne right before Jessica's face. She was not used to all these things happening here. All she wanted to see was the chancellor and the chancellor had passed his speech and left.

Jessica was no longer enjoying Pete, she was looking for an opportunity to leave but every chance she had to leave paved another chance for her recognition.

Meanwhile, Ray and his friends alongside her roommate were laughing at her from a distance as she was hiding herself from the students around.

Nassani was seated opposite Ann in a round chair, Eric was seated opposite Bethel also in a round chair. Ray was the only guy seated alone without a babe opposite him. Ray was the finest guy in the school and also rich because his father was a famous business tycoon in the city yet he had no girlfriend. Well, girls used to hover around him because of his money coupled with his cuteness but his rude attitude always makes ladies distant themselves from him. Ray always calls himself 'Mr. Fine boy. He always sees the girls around him to be inferior.

" Look at that poor girl hiding her identity from people," Ray said and laughed so hard before being taken from his cup. Nassani and Eric also laughed alongside their girlfriends.

Bethel was the only person that likes Jessica among them. Bethel likes Jessica so much because she had once tasted poverty before a rich woman helped her. She knew how it feels to be bullied and rejected, unlike others who were grown with silver spoons. Bethel wished her friends could raise Jessica to their standard since she was now part of her roommates but she was afraid to suggest. Her friends might reject her even her boyfriend, Eric, might also reject her so she had to keep quiet.

While the party was going smoothly, Ann suggested, "Let's play a game, guys".

"That's a very good idea, Ann. You are not as selfish as others " Ray applauded Ann for her suggestion. Ray had been alone in his seat. He had been looking for a means to draw attention to himself but it wasn't working for his friends were busy with their babes. He was happy to hear Ann make this suggestion. At least, he would be included.

"What type of game?" Nassani asked Ann and puffed a larger area of smoke into the air.

Ann was gyrating her head as she was thinking of the possible game they could play when Bethel suggested, " Truth or dare"

" that's perfect," Ann said and clapped her hands once.

" Nassani are you okay with it?" Ann asked, "Yes, of course! ". " Eric?" She waved her hands at Eric, " yes". Ray also agreed. Ray moved his chair nearest to them and they made a small piece of paper where their names were written. The papers were scattered on the floor and they started picking them one after the other to know the order of their game.

Nassani started first. He dared to kiss Ann in front of everyone and he did. Eric was asked to tell the number of girls he had slept with before he met Bethel and he also did.

It was Bethel's turn to play the game. While everyone was curiously waiting for Bethel, bethel laughed so hard. She giggled and shot a glimpse at Jessica in her seat. She was very happy because she now had the chance to level up the poor girl.

" Truth or dare?" Bethel asked Ray.

" dare" Ray spoke.

" if you fail to comply? " They all echoed.

" then I will give out my father's company" Ray promised.

" I dare you to walk to Jessica and tell her you love her. And you must make her love you within two months" Bethel spoke, lightning up the party with laughter.

Ray was annoyed but he hide his feelings. He regretted why he chose to play the game in the first place. Jessica was a girl he hated, she was nothing nearer to his standard. Ray had created a level where everyone on the campus sees him as a god of the campus, how will he explain to his remaining students that it was just a game? But then, it was just a game and not real - he encouraged himself. He must have to go to secure his father's company which was at stake.

A round of applause from his friends made him stand up from his chair hesitatingly and moved towards Jessica. Bethel finally paved the way for her wish.

Jessica was about to leave her seat when she saw Ray walking up to her. Shiver ran through her spine and her breath was stuck in her throat. She didn't want to be bullied among these multitudes but just before she take her pause on the round table, Ray blocked her way and sat down opposite her.

She taught Ray was there to mock her again, little did she know that things had taken an unexpected turn.

" what do you want? Please leave now, I am tired of your bully" Jessica interjected and spoke with a tremble in her voice more or less like sobbing.

"Hey, calm down, I am not here to bully you, I am just here for a brief discussion. Will you mind giving me part of your time?" Ray asked with a little form of ego in his voice.

" what do you have to say other than insult me?" Jessica said and took a deep breath.

"Hey, don't shout at me, I am here to help you " Ray pronounced.

" I don't need your help, Ray, I am okay and I am not a beggar" Jessica spilled hot.

" I don't care if you beg me or not all I ask from you is to date me for two months," Ray said barely whispering, and looked behind him to meet Bethel's thumb up.

" date you for two weeks? Who do you think you are? Dating me would be a help for you and not me. besides, I can't date a spoiled brat like you, I am sorry " Jessica stood up with a hiss and walked out of the party house leaving Ray on the seat embarrassingly.
