LUCIAN'S POV,
Was it the way my blood ran cold when I saw how Tyler held her or the way she strolled up to me and slapped me across the face, I couldn't really tell but I stood still too shock to say a word and too surprised that she was drunk to make a move.
"Ruby!!!", Athena called out her name in shock, she was scared of what Ruby's actions towards me might cause and afraid of what would happen to her friend. Ruby wobbled on her feet and Tyler came forward to hold her steady.
"I'm sorry sir, I'm really sorry sir", Athena said, bowing her head slightly before me. I was upset but it wasn't because she slapped me, it was because Tyler arms were around her.
"She had a little too much to drink", Tyler said grinning at me. She looked up at me again and all I could see in her eyes were hate and disgust. My wolf growled when his arms tightened around her.
"I promise this won't happen again,", Athena, the manager, kept blabbing and apologizing but I wasn't interested in her apology, I was interested in why and how Ruby ended up with him. He must have noticed how hard I glared at his arms because he casually began to stroke her shoulders as if they were well acquainted.
"I'm certain Mr Lucian can't be upset, it was just a simple mistake from a drunk employee". Tyler said, pinning me with a stare.
I couldn't stand him, we have been enemies since we were both born, our packs had been rival since as far back as history is concerned. I glare back at him but he rather found it amusing and kept smiling.
"Miss Athena". I called out without taking my eyes away from Tyler.
"Yes Sir", she replied eagerly.
"Can you escort this woman out from here before I lose my patience". She nodded immediately, and took the murmuring Ruby from Tyler's grasp, escorting her towards the elevator. Ruby cursed at me before she was shoved in and the door slid shut.
"What are you doing here?". I asked angrily.
"I got an invitation from Scar". He replied coyly, enjoying how he ruined my mood.
"You don't belong here, this territory belongs to blood stone. You know that better than anyone else".
"Well, I couldn't turn down an invitation from the influencial Scar". He headed back to his room and was about to slam the door shut when I quickly shoved my feet in-between, preventing the door from closing. His wolf flashed across his face, to another person they would have cowered in fear but we are both Alpha's and until one of us is defeated, we both cannot bow in each other's presence.
"Now, you're the one overstepping your boundaries". He growled.
"Do you know her?".
"Who?", He looked at me confused and then suddenly smiled. "You mean Ruby?"
"You know her name". I grumbled within me while my wolf craved to dig it's claws into his throat.
"She's my fiancee", I stumbled back a bit, giving him the chance to slam the door shut in my face. The first woman my wolf chooses as my mate is engaged to my arch enemy. I had hoped that her fiancee was a human then it would have been so much easier to get rid of him but now it was more complicated than that.
"Lucian!". Someone called me, I turned around still a bit dazed from the discovery to find the bald headed, Scar stepping out from the room besides me. He was dressed in a black suit, shoes and a white tie to match, although a gangster, scar believed in appearing like a business man in front of his clients.
"Lucian", he clapped his hands on my shoulder, "I heard about what happened, silly employees, you never can trust them with your VIP'S. That's why I don't allow the regular staff atttend to my VIP's".
"She's a regular?".
"Yes, they treat VIP clients the way they treat those noisy teenagers downstairs".
"Did you employe her?".
"No, my manager handles the regular staff's", his expression changed. "Why are you asking?".
"Nothing". I said sharply and bluntly to get him off my trail.
"I would see to it that she is fired".
"No, it's fine, you don't need to do that". He raised an eyebrow at me, surprised at my decision.
"It's the first time you are so benevolent". I glared at him and he must have taken the que because he went silent immediately on the matter.
"The auction is downstairs, please follow me and I would show you".
"Why is he here?".
"Who? Oh you mean Tyler?".
"Yes".
"He has an item to pick up".
"Does he have a fiancee?".
"I don't know, he never mentioned anything like that but I think he has been going around with a human lately".
"Really?". I felt downcast that he had told me the truth.
"Is everything alright Lucian?, you don't seem or sound like your usual self today".
"I'm fine. Let's go, I don't have all day". He nodded and went towards Tyler's door to knock.
"What are you doing?'. I asked, angry that nothing was going my way today.
"I think he should come with us and just pick everything once and for all".
"Scar, I know you are well aware of....".
"It's been years Lucian, you don't even know what started the fight. Don't you think it's high time you both let this feud go, you would make really great friends you know".
"I will advise not to over step your boundaries, vampires and werewolves aren't the same Scar, stick to your coffins and I would...", Tyler's door squeaked open and his head peeked out while his remaining body stayed hidden behind the door. Our eyes met and we both frowed. I huffed at what Scar had said, we hated each other so much already that even the mere sight of ourselves gave us sleepless nights.
"I thought I heard something. Scar, I have been waiting".
"I'm so sorry Tyler but the item is almost ready, a few minutes more and it would be done". Scar said looking at his watch.
"Alright, send for me when it's time", he was about to close the door but Scar was quick to stop him.
"Actually, you could come with us right now".
"Us? As in you and him", he had refered to me with such venom.in his eyes.
"Yes, we're headed in the same direction after all".
"No, I think I'll pass", he slammed the door shut immediately.
"Well!", Scar remarked turning to look at my embarrassed face, "at least we tried".
I hissed loudly and headed for the elevator.
"That's not the way Lucian,.have you forgotten already, it's underground". He called after me and I stopped immediately, turned around and made for the opposite direction while he chuckled at my clumsy mistake. Scar looked and sounded like a normal, middle aged man when he was around us but we all knew that he was more of a vampire the moment he stepped away from us.
He led me down the hall and towards a door at the far end of the room, in front of the door, a small screen was glued to it. It turned on when we approached and scanned his face, after it had confirmed that it was him, the door opened and we stepped in, immediately slamming itself shut and sealed after us.
