Chapter 3 The little maid
Oh no! He recognized me! Ava felt a sudden tightness in her chest as she realized why he was so angry - this man never touched women!
The place where he bit down on her neck burned hotly while every ache and pain on her body seemed more pronounced than ever before.
"Honey, what happened?" Kylie asked worriedly. "This is our new maid Ava."
Kylie tried to explain herself quickly since things weren't looking good for them anymore. She even glared at Ava angrily thinking how much of a slutty womanizer this man must be if he couldn't tell one woman apart from another!
**"A maid?" **
Dominic looked down at Ava condescendingly while trying to figure out what was going on here.
Facing such an intimidating man made Ava feel nervous but she bravely lifted up the right side of her face which revealed the long scar running across it."Mr. Harrington, you've got the wrong person. I don't know you. I'm just a maid here."
Dominic finally saw the scar on Ava's face, which ran from her cheek to her chin and was hideous enough to ruin any beauty she might have had.
He frowned slightly but then asked,"Then why did you run away?"
"I didn't run away, Mr. Harrington. I just wanted to go back to the kitchen and work."
Dominic stared at her for a few seconds before realizing that he must have mistaken Kylie for Ava earlier.
**"But now that you're here, stay put." **
"Yes, Mr. Harrington." Ava turned around and went back into the kitchen.
**Kylie rushed in after her and warned,"Ava, let me warn you - don't try anything funny with my **Honey again!"
Ava looked at Kylie calmly,"I won't do anything like that if you release Mrs. Foster."
**"The mission isn't over yet! And besides, I've already told him that you're just a maid here. If he doesn't see you around anymore it'll raise suspicions!" **
Recalling Dominic's condescending gaze just now, Ava still felt palpitations and didn't want to stay here.
But thinking of Mrs. Foster, she had no other choice.
"Kylie, you better use all your tricks to quickly take over Mrs. Harrington's position and make sure I don't stay here to watch you make a fool of yourself."
"..."
Looking at Ava's clean and transparent eyes, Kylie really wanted to poke them out. How could an ugly woman have such beautiful eyes? Even if the eyes were beautiful, they couldn't hide the scar on her face. An ugly woman was an ugly woman.
"Ugly freak!" Kylie proudly cursed before swaying her hips out and instructing the housekeeper outside, "Arrange Ava in the smallest maid room and let her do the dirtiest and most tiring work!"
Ava returned to the maid room and sat in front of the mirror looking at the long scar on her face. In fact, she was The Bennett family's only daughter.
