Chapter 1

Abella Medici sat at the dining table, staring at the Wilson family members in front of her, feeling all sorts of mixed emotions.

She used to be the eldest daughter of the Wilson family. But a few months back, a routine hospital check-up revealed that her blood type didn't match the Wilson family's.

It turned out Abella wasn't actually a Wilson, which left everyone in shock.

The Wilsons started searching for their real daughter and quickly found her—Isla Wilson.

They also tracked down Abella's biological parents. The people claiming to be Abella's parents called the Wilson Mansion, saying they wanted to take Abella home.

So, this meal in front of Abella was probably her last one at the Wilson Mansion.

Her adoptive dad, Jeff Wilson, served her some food, "Go on, have some more. You might not get such good food after going back home."

Yesterday, Jeff found out that Abella's biological parents lived in a really poor area, and neither of them had a job.

He figured life would be tough for Abella once she went back to her real home.

But Abella put down her fork and said calmly, "I'm full."

She stood up and left, her departure as clean and decisive as if she had never felt any connection to this house.

Her adoptive mom, Skylar Wilson, was immediately displeased, "That ungrateful brat! Jeff is worried you won't get good food with your biological parents!"

"Mom, calm down. Abella probably doesn't want to go back to the countryside and is feeling agitated right now..." said Isla, the biological daughter the Wilson family had found.

Yesterday, she overheard that Abella's original family was very poor. Not only were her parents unemployed, but there were also five unmarried brothers and a seriously ill grandmother at home.

The burden on the family was unimaginable!

Isla's sense of superiority surged, and she couldn't help but get up and say, "I'll go see her off!"

At the dining table, Jeff gave Skylar a reproachful look, "After all, Abella was once our child!"

Skylar sneered, "Every time I think about how we treated Abella like a treasure all these years while Isla suffered outside, it feels like a knife in my heart."

Abella walked to the living room, picked up the backpack on the sofa, and prepared to leave.

Isla immediately caught up, "Abella, October 1st is my engagement party with Remy Johnson. Will you come?"

Her eyes were full of expectation, but her tone couldn't hide her pride and show-off.

Everyone knew that the Wilson family and the Johnson family had a marriage agreement.

If Jeff hadn't found Isla, the one engaged to Remy would have been Abella.

"Remy is such an excellent boy, and he's very good to me. If it weren't for me being found by Mom and Dad, the one engaged to him would be you! You won't blame me for that, will you?" Isla said, eyelids fluttering with a falsely innocent look.

Abella smiled faintly, "Thanks to you, the trash has found its rightful place."

She added, "I was just thinking of throwing Remy into the recycling bin, but I didn't expect you to come and pick him up so soon."

Isla was about to snap back when she saw Skylar coming over. So, she immediately looked aggrieved like a little rabbit, her eyes red.

Skylar came to the living room and happened to see this scene, getting angry, "Abella! How can you talk to Isla like that! Can't you speak properly?"

"I think I'm right." Abella's lips curved slightly, "But you, you should go see an eye doctor."

Skylar had spent a month with Isla and still hadn't seen through Isla's seemingly innocent but actually cunning nature. Her eyesight was really bad!

Skylar trembled with anger.

"Abella, I'll give you the necklace Mom and Dad gave me, my favorite one. After all, we're sisters, and who knows when we'll see each other again after this." Isla, pretending to be all sweet, ran up to grab Abella, but only managed to touch her backpack.

To everyone's shock, a sapphire necklace fell out of Abella's backpack!

Everyone was stunned.

Isla covered her mouth, "How could this be?"

The sapphire necklace she was supposedly going to give to Abella, how did it end up in Abella's backpack before it actually happened?

Abella smiled slightly. Was this an attempt to frame her for theft?

"How did Isla's necklace end up with you?" Skylar couldn't believe her eyes and shouted, "Jeff, come and see! Abella dared to take Isla's necklace before leaving. We raised a thief all these years!"

Jeff came over, looking stunned, "What's going on?"

"It's okay, Mom and Dad." Isla hurriedly tried to smooth things over, saying, "This necklace was meant for Abella. Whether I give it to her or she takes it herself, it's the same!"

"How is that the same? If you give it to Abella, then it is a gift! But if Abella takes it herself, then she is a thief!" Skylar was furious, "Abella, instead of learning good things from others, you learned to be a thief!"

"Mom, you can't say that about Abella!" Isla picked up the sapphire necklace from the ground and kindly handed it to Abella, "Abella, don't take Mom's words to heart. I know you took this necklace to plan for the future, right? I heard your situation over there isn't good. This necklace might come in handy in the future. Take it!"

Several maids couldn't help but speak up,

"Ms. Wilson, you're too kind! This necklace is worth a hundred thousand dollars!"

"This was specially designed for you by Mr. and Mrs. Wilson! It's unique in the world, only one of its kind!"

"It even has your name engraved on it, Ms. Isla Wilson!"

"Ms. Wilson loves this necklace so much, but now she's giving it to Ms. Medici."

"Ms. Medici stole your favorite jewelry, but you didn't blame her."

"Ms. Medici had such a bad attitude just now, but you're still so kind to her. Your heart is too good!"

Listening to the praise around her, Isla raised her gaze, "Abella needs it more than I do!"

The people around couldn't help but compare the two sisters.

Abella, except for her good looks, really couldn't compare to Isla in any other way!

Skylar snatched the necklace from Isla's hand, saying painfully, "You silly child, her family is a bottomless pit. Even ten necklaces wouldn't be enough!"

Saying this, Skylar looked at Abella with disgust, "We've raised you all these years, and we've done our best! This necklace is a gift for Isla, don't even think about it! Before I call the police, you better leave here quickly!"

"Mom!" Isla heard this and anxiously said, "Abella's biological parents are unemployed, and there are five brothers to marry off, plus a seriously ill grandmother for Abella to take care of. Selling this necklace could get some money. Abella needs it more than I do."

Several maids were moved by Isla's kindness. She was really too sensible and kind!

"Mom, since you gave me this necklace, I have the right to dispose of it!" Isla willfully snatched the necklace back from Skylar's hand and presented it to Abella like a treasure, "Abella, take it. I won't blame you for stealing. It was meant for you."

Abella raised her eyes, her long lashes casting shadows as she looked at her with interest.

Isla was emphasizing that Abella had stolen the necklace.

Isla only had these few tricks up her sleeve, couldn't she come up with something more sophisticated?
