Chapter 10 Fortunately, I didn't call him

After Annie had everything prepared, Carl sent his assistant Thomas to pick her up. Annie carried her bag and got into a Maybach. She thought Thomas would take her directly to Carl's house, but he unexpectedly took her to a shopping mall.

Several stylists and makeup artists surrounded her, putting up her long hair and giving her exquisite makeup. The expensive evening dress seemed tailor-made for her body without any flaws. In addition, she wore a diamond necklace worth millions of dollars around her neck which made her look noble and elegant.

Looking at herself in the mirror, shining brightly with glamourous beauty, felt strange to Annie; it was not like herself but more like Annika. If Brandon saw this version of herself, he might think that she was deliberately imitating Annika.

She smiled with a bit of bitterness at the thought of it all.

After the transformation was complete, Thomas quickly sent Annie to Pacha Nightclub - New York's most prominent gold-digging spot, where only rich people came here either for fun or business purposes. It mainly focused on privacy with no monitoring cameras installed anywhere, making it difficult even if there were any present.

Many wealthy men liked doing dirty things here as well.

Carl chose such a place because he probably wanted to play with Annie directly until she died from exhaustion or something similar happened.

Annie's heart raced faster than an elevator ascending when she realized what could happen soon enough after being violated by someone else. As the elevator approached its top floor level speedily, she steadied herself while clutching onto the bag tightly before following Thomas out of the elevator towards their private room door.

Thomas pulled out a VIP card and swiped it across an automatic door that slowly opened wide, revealing dim lighting inside, along with soothing music playing softly in the background.

This surprised Annie since Carl’s taste should have been more nightclub-like, but the decoration here was high-end and elegant, with fresh and refined music that made people feel comfortable.

As Annie stood at the door looking around, a broad and powerful hand suddenly wrapped around her waist. Carl hugged her into his arms, lowered his head to kiss her cheek gently while saying: "Baby, you look so beautiful today."

She felt nauseous and wanted to vomit as she turned away from him, trying to avoid his touch. However, she accidentally saw a man sitting on the sofa area.

He wore a white shirt with an open collar revealing seductive clavicles. His small arm muscles were strong while his fingers had distinct bones holding onto a tall glass of wine which shone like blood under dim lighting reflecting off it, making it seem like he was staring at her with crimson eyes.

Annie didn't expect Brandon would be here, too; she was surprised. She thought Brandon wasn't in the same circle as Carl since Mr Ross came from an ancient wealthy family, whereas MacDonald Inc was just an upstart compared to Mr Ross's status.

However, these two extreme people unexpectedly met each other privately in such entertainment venues.

Annie suddenly felt fortunate that day when she didn’t call Brandon because not only would she have lost face but also faced rejection mercilessly by him. After all, how could Brandon offend his good friend for someone like her?

But...why did he look at her with such eyes? Was it because he saw another man kissing her, which made him angry?

While Annie pondered over this question randomly in mind, the man suddenly withdrew his gaze indifferently as if it were just a casual glance earlier on.

Annie's heart trembled slightly; after all, how could someone as cold-blooded as Brandon care about whether or not someone else kissed her?

She also looked away from him, focusing solely on dealing with Carl: "Mr.MacDonald, why did you bring me to such a place?"

Carl pinched her face affectionately and said: "I'll introduce you to some friends first, then we can play something exciting."

Annie's face changed slightly upon hearing this; it seemed like she had to find a way to escape quickly.
