Chapter 7. Poor thing

POV Marchel.

I saw her face-to-face with Robert. There's not a bit of feeling that makes me want to help her or just let her be free from an arrogant human-like Robert, it doesn't mean that if I let her then I'll just shut up and just walk away.

No, even though I'm just silent, I still have to pay attention and eavesdrop on what they're talking about. Several times Cynthia tried to avoid Robert but still the man did not want to give in and instead continued to taunt Cynthia with various taunts.

"Can you step aside? I'm leaving for work and can't just take care of you." I heard Cynthia start to fight back, it was true that the woman was going to work but Robert kept bothering her making me want to help Cynthia get out of there.

But it was difficult, just moving my feet felt so heavy. Robert continued to taunt Cynthia without stopping. I let her and only watched from a distance.

Even though I'm a little sorry but I don't want to get too involved in their affairs, I don't want my plan to fail and Cynthia knows if I'm following her.

After I saw that the woman was free from Robert, she walked to her workplace and immediately I followed behind. I know that Cynthia seems to realize that she is being followed but I try not to be seen in front of her.

I also saw that Hana was there, I didn't want to communicate with her just yet for fear that Cynthia would realize that and instead make my plan fail. I let her into her workplace and then I called Hana to come see me without Cynthia's knowledge.

"How is everything safe?" I asked Hana who was beside me, I occasionally looked at Cynthia who was still busy with work, she looked tired and lethargic but I don't know I didn't care a bit about her because all I cared about now were my children.

"Nothing hurt her, I've taken care of everything so you don't need to worry, Marcel. Since you've been following her?" Hana turned her head, she looked at Cynthia from behind the frosted glass.

"Yes, I followed her because I wanted to know what she was doing after she left for work. I also wanted to make sure of something, while on the street I saw her being disturbed by Robert." I told Hana everything about what happened to Cynthia, from Robert who often bothered her.

"You didn't help her?" I shook my head.

"You are mean!" Hana looked at me with an annoyed look, I don't understand why she could say that. I looked at her with a look that was difficult to decipher, feeling that I was not wrong for letting Robert bother Cynthia and I didn't help her.

"Then what should I do? I don't know what to do when Robert bothers Cynthia, I do have the intention to help that woman but it feels very strange for me to help someone."

"You have to learn how to help someone like her, Marcel. What if Cynthia is bothered by Robert again? What if something unexpected happens?" I rolled my eyes lazily, I wasn't worried about Cynthia at all when she was being bullied by Robert.

"Like I have to learn how to help someone, it's not that I don't want to help him but I just don't want to get too involved that's all."

"But still!"

"Still what? I'm always wrong, I'm not evil but more like I don't care because it's none of my business, I don't want to interfere that's all, am I wrong?" Hana took a deep breath, arguing with me might never end, more precisely, we shouldn't argue.

"Then what?" she asked.

"I want to monitor it from here, that's fine, right?"

"Up to you." Hana then left me alone, she was annoyed with me for not helping Cynthia when she was being bullied by Robert. However, I felt innocent, because I didn't want to get involved in Cynthia's problems.

It's been hours, I've been waiting for Cynthia to come home but the woman hasn't come back and she's starting to get bored. I also called Hana several times and asked when they would close but Hana completely ignored me.

Marcel is forced to wait with boredom, he does all this to know everything, and he will not just give up even if he has to wait a little longer.

"When will she be back? I've been waiting here for almost twelve hours." I tried to get Hana to open her voice, I couldn't wait any longer because I was bored.

"Just wait, you'll find out what time we close, don't ask too many questions." Hana looked at me with a cynical look, I could only exhale lazily because that woman made me have to wait.

"But waiting for her is like I'm waiting for something uncertain!" I was getting annoyed but Hana didn't even care about what I said, of course, I was getting annoyed. I quickly left the place with mixed feelings, between annoyed and tired of waiting for that woman.

From a distance, I could see Cynthia getting ready to go home. I wanted to approach that woman but it was so difficult for me to do. Yes, it's not as easy as turning the palm of my hand, I can't possibly just approach her.

I looked closer and behind was Hana who seemed to give a code that I shouldn't get too close to Cynthia and could only see her from a distance. I obeyed, I didn't demand more than what was given at all.

After a while of walking, I couldn't think at all what to do after that, I didn't know what to do at all because it felt like a dead end when confronted by Cynthia even though we could be said to be quite far apart.

I watched every movement without her suspecting it, I didn't want to confuse her or even feel that someone was following her and had bad intentions because I had to keep my distance as much as possible to stay safe.

Realizing that Cynthia began to feel that I was following her, I immediately stopped and hid so that the woman would not find me. I didn't want her to know that I was following her earlier. However, when I turned around Cynthia had not walked yet, she seemed to be waiting for someone making me wonder who she was waiting for.

"Whoever's following me, get out or I'll look for you until I find you!" Suddenly cold sweat started to break out, I thought Cynthia knew where I was but she was still an idiot.
