As soon as Kayler realized that I was looking at him, he walked quickly towards the entrance of the house.

"Kayler is here," I informed Gadreel, but he didn't react surprised, which made me understand something else. I stood still and looked at him. "...you knew, you knew that Kayler was listening to everything."

"Carolina, it's time for that idiot to leave you alone once and for all. All he does is hurt you. It's better for him to find out that you're getting rid of him."

I rolled my eyes and headed towards the door. Kayler was already coming in.

"What are you doing here?" I snapped, but Kayler brushed past me and went straight to the kitchen in search of Gadreel.

Damn it.

I hurried to catch up, and Kayler landed a strong punch on Gadreel, causing him to fall.

"I'm not going to allow you to deceive Carolina, you idiot, and I'm not going to allow you to take her away from me."

"What a jerk!" I exclaimed. "The only one who pushed me away from you was you," I confronted him. Kayler looked hurt the entire time, he seemed tired and in need of love or affection, it was evident in his appearance. Just for that moment, my walls came down, and seeing him in such a state, I gave him a tight hug. Kayler didn't hesitate to reciprocate the embrace; being in his arms made me feel alive again. My body longs for his, I miss his smell, his hair, everything about him. I don't know why I hugged him, I'm so confused. I heard him sobbing against my neck, it pained me to see him so broken, he didn't even care about breaking down in front of Gadreel, who, upon witnessing the scene, stormed out of the kitchen in a fury.

Why did things have to turn out like this? Why? We were so happy.

"Don't leave me," he whispered, holding onto me as if he feared letting go, as if he knew that if he let go, he wouldn't be able to hold me anymore. I swallowed hard at his words. "Carolina, I love you. I just want to be with you. I can't sleep, I can't eat, I can't do anything if I'm not with you. All I want is your forgiveness. It's the only thing I desire right now," he sobbed even more. He seemed like a little child, and it made me feel bad, vulnerable, it made me feel like I was the one in the wrong. But it wasn't like that; he made many mistakes. Like the time when he thought Rafael and I had been intimate, he left without letting me explain... which was hard for me because it was the result of a violation, and he wasn't there for me.

I closed my eyes because remembering those times hurts.

I immediately pulled away from Kayler.

"I'm sorry, I don't know why I hugged you," I admitted. "It was just an impulse."

"Your body, your soul yearn for me, Carolina. You can't be without me either. Together, we complete each other, we need each other to live," he said, and I didn't look at him. "Please... by doing this, you make me feel loved. You still love me, I know it," he raised his hand and caressed my chin, lifting my gaze. His eyes were red, yet he still managed to look sexy, that arrogant...

It may be true, but as you may have heard a few minutes ago, I will do everything possible to make sure that no longer remains the case. I will free myself.

"Never," he clenched my jaw and approached me savagely. "Do you hear me? You will never be able to get rid of me. You are mine, and that will never change."

"You can't stop it."

"Of course, I can," he smirked maliciously. "Try it, and you'll realize it's in vain. I won't give up, Carolina. I know you'll come back to me." He grabbed my hips and sat me on the countertop, spreading my legs and pulling me fiercely towards his body. "Because you can't resist me," he whispered in my neck. "Since you want to play dirty, I'll do the same, darling. Don't complain later." He gave me a kiss on the cheek; I thought he would kiss me on the lips, but he didn't. The idiot left me wanting more, gave me one last look, and left.

I felt emptiness when he left, but also relief because I don't know what would have happened if he had stayed. I searched for Gadreel in the house, but he wasn't there. He probably left to feel even worse. I just hope he comes back soon.

At night, I took my car and went to the town. I need to restock my kitchen; I hardly have anything. I also need a job urgently. I can't continue in this situation. When I arrived at the supermarket, I took a cart and started putting the necessary items in it. When I came out and put the bags in the car, I encountered a group of guys on a corner.

I could recognize Kayler among them. Is he following me? It wouldn't surprise me. At that moment, three girls arrived. They were wearing mini skirts and tops, almost naked. I felt anger when one of them approached Kayler and hugged him, but even more anger when Kayler held her by the waist and pulled her closer. Kayler's gaze turned towards me.

He's bothering me, I know it. I started the car and drove off, right where they were. When they noticed, they moved out of the way. I wouldn't give him the satisfaction of seeing me upset.

He's an idiot. Does he think that by acting like that, I will go back to him? Although deep down, I want to go back and confront him for holding that girl like that.

Breathe, Carolina, breathe. I drove calmly home when the anger passed. When I arrived, I saw Gadreel at the entrance. I parked the car and got out. He wasn't wearing a shirt, only pants and military boots.

"Gadreel?" I called his attention because he was facing away. The guy turned around and smiled sadly at me.

"Carolina, I was waiting for you."

"Why did you leave like that?"

"You needed to be alone with him."

"It wasn't necessary for you to leave. Nothing happened," I scratched my neck nervously.

"I know, I know you're very resentful, and you won't give in easily. That's why I want to propose a deal to you," he took my hands. "If you're truly willing to forget about Kayler Brown and your wolf side, there's a chance to do it."

I swallowed hard.

"You just have to wait for the full moon at the end of the month; we will make you free again."

"We?" I wanted to know.

He nodded.

Then I looked at the sky, where several fallen angels were flying over the house. In that moment, I questioned whether I could trust them because fallen angels are demons, and demons don't have feelings. They are experts in seduction and lies.

"Who are they?" I asked.

"They're my brothers," he replied. "They're on my side now. Are you willing?"

I remained silent because, although a part of me wanted to forget and leave, finally being free, another part didn't want to do it. That part just wanted to run to Kayler and go back to him. The question was: which part would I listen to?
