CHAPTER 5- Rage And Rejection

Rage and Rejection.

Xavier's POV

I stormed through the front door of my ancestral home, my frustration and anger palpable. The encounter with Marcus had only added fuel to the fire that burned within me. Despite his genuine concern, I couldn't bring myself to confide in him. The pain that gnawed at my heart was unbearable, and I couldn't bear to share my vulnerability with anyone, not even my closest friend.

I shut Marcus out with an icy glare, silencing any further questions. The weight of rejection pressed heavily upon my shoulders with each step I took towards my room. As an Alpha, I couldn't understand how my supposed mate could dare to reject me. Did she even know who I was? The thought alone fueled the flames of my rage, burning brighter and hotter with each passing moment.

As I entered my room, the door slammed shut behind me, echoing the anger that consumed me. The walls seemed to close in, suffocating me with their oppressive presence. I paced back and forth, my mind a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. How could fate be so cruel? How could it toy with me, taunting me with the promise of a mate, only to snatch her away?

The room, once my sanctuary, now felt like a prison. The scent of her rejection lingered in the air, mocking me. I could almost hear her voice, soft and gentle, as she uttered those damning words. The memory of her face, the way her eyes avoided mine, haunted me. Did she see the Alpha within me and fear it? Did she sense the power that surged through my veins and cower in its presence?

The rage within me burned hotter, threatening to consume everything in its path. How dare she reject me? How dare she deny the bond that fate had bestowed upon us? I was an Alpha, a force to be reckoned with, and yet she had the audacity to turn me away. The thought of her rejection fueled the fire within me, stoking it until it roared with an intensity that threatened to consume me whole.

I clenched my fists, my nails digging into my palms, as I fought to regain control. The room seemed to tremble under the weight of my anger, the very walls quivering in fear. But it wasn't enough. The burning rage within me demanded release, an outlet for the storm that raged within.

I took a deep breath, trying to calm the tempest that raged within me. The room felt oppressive, and the scent of her rejection lingered in the air. The memory of her face, the way her eyes avoided mine, haunted me. I couldn't understand why my mate would reject me, an Alpha, a force to be reckoned with.

I took a deep breath, attempting to calm the tempest that raged within my soul. But the flames of fury refused to be extinguished. They danced and flickered, consuming my thoughts, my reason, until all that remained was a single-minded determination. I would not rest until I found her, until I made her understand the gravity of her mistake.

With each passing moment, my resolve solidified. I would not be denied. I would not be rejected. The Alpha within me demanded justice, and I would deliver it with a vengeance. The fire burned brighter, hotter, as I prepared to embark on a journey that would test not only my strength but also my very sanity.

And so, with the burning rage as my guide, I set forth into the unknown, ready to face whatever obstacles lay in my path. The drama that unfolded within me was only the beginning, a prelude to the storm that was about to be unleashed. And as I ventured into the darkness, I vowed to reclaim what was rightfully mine, no matter the cost.

She belongs to me and no wolf could dare walk past my territory.

I woke up with a heavy sigh, feeling the weight of yesterday's memories flooding back into my mind. The events of the previous day had left me emotionally drained, and I longed for a moment of respite. As I lay in bed, my thoughts swirled with regret, anger, and a tinge of sadness.

Just as I was trying to gather my thoughts and find some semblance of peace, a sharp knock echoed through my door, jolting me from my reverie. My heart skipped a beat, and I wondered who could be disturbing me at this early hour. Reluctantly, I swung my legs over the side of the bed and made my way to the door.

Opening it, I was met with the intense gaze of Marcus. My tired eyes met Marcus's fiery ones, and I could sense the anger radiating off him. Marcus wasted no time in demanding answers, his voice laced with frustration.

"What the hell happened yesterday, Xavier?" Marcus barked, his voice filled with a mix of concern and annoyance. "You disappeared without a word, and I've been worried sick!"

I sighed, running a hand through my disheveled hair. I knew I owed Marcus an explanation, but I wasn't ready to relive the events just yet. "Marcus, I appreciate your concern, but I need some time to process everything. It's not something I can just talk about right now."

Marcus's eyes narrowed, his frustration growing. "You can't just shut me out, Xavier. We've been through everything together. I deserve to know what's going on."

My gaze softened, realizing the truth in Marcus's words. We had been friends since childhood, and Marcus had always been there for me. But this time, the weight of my burden felt too heavy to share. "I promise, Marcus, I will tell you everything. Just not now. Please understand."

Marcus's anger seemed to dissipate slightly, replaced by a mix of concern and hurt. "Fine," he muttered, his voice tinged with disappointment. "But don't keep me waiting for too long, Xavier. I'm here for you, whether you like it or not."

I nodded, grateful for Marcus's understanding, even if it was begrudging. "Thank you, Marcus. I appreciate your support more than you know."

The two of us stood in silence for a moment, the weight of unspoken words hanging in the air. I knew I couldn't keep Marcus in the dark forever, but I needed time to gather my thoughts and find the right words to explain the turmoil that had consumed me.

Finally, Marcus broke the silence, his voice softer this time. "I'm serious."

A small smile tugged at the corners of Xavier's lips, grateful for the unwavering support of his friend. "Right."

With that, Marcus nodded, his eyes filled with a mix of understanding and concern. He turned to leave, but before he did, he glanced back at Xavier. "I'll be waiting"

As Marcus disappeared down the hallway, Xavier closed the door and leaned against it, feeling a mix of relief and trepidation. He knew he couldn't keep his friend in the dark forever, but for now, he needed time to heal and find the strength to face his demons.

Xavier took a deep breath and closed his eyes, trying to calm the storm of emotions that raged within him. He knew he had made a mistake by leaving her behind, but he was determined to find her. He had to find her, no matter what it took.

I opened my eyes and looked towards the dense forest that lay ahead of me. It was the same forest where I had seen her yesterday.

I had made the mistake of leaving her behind. She belongs to me after all.

I took a step towards the forest, my heart beating faster with each passing moment. I knew the dangers that lay ahead of me. The forest was known to be inhabited by dangerous creatures, and I was going in alone. But I didn't care. After all, I'm the Alpha.

I took another step, and then another, until I was deep within the forest. The darkness closed in around me, but I didn't falter. I knew I was getting closer. I could feel it in my bones.

And then, I saw her. She was standing there, looking at me with a mixture of fear and confusion. I could see the guilt in her eyes. I could smell the fear on her skin. But I was beyond mercy. I was beyond forgiveness.

I walked towards her, my steps slow and measured. She tried to run, but I was too fast. I grabbed her by the arm, and she screamed. I could feel the power coursing through my veins. I could feel the Alpha within me taking over.

And then, I spoke. "You're coming with me," I said, my voice low and commanding. "You're my mate, and you belong with me."
