Chapter 8 Blatant Affair

Shelley turned her head to look at Adrian who was standing beside her. He did have the capital to make a woman enchanted.

But...

Thinking of the pain in his heart, Shelley wanted to say something to refuse Trista for him.

However, Adrian just walked towards Shelley without squinting and asked, "Are you alright?"

Shelley shook her head. She caught a glimpse of Trista's ugly expression from the corner of her eye.

Trista bit her lower lip with her white teeth and looked more and more pitiful. "Sir..."

She even reached out to grab Adrian's sleeves.

Adrian frowned and avoided her.

"Sorry. I don't like people wearing my clothes."

After refusing Trista indifferently, Adrian turned around and picked up his coat and Shelley's, looked back at Shelley, and said, "Let's go."

"We haven't paid the bill yet," Shelley reminded.

Adrian said, "I've paid for it."

Shelley raised her eyebrows. Adrian had given her his salary card, how could he still have money to pay the bill?

Shelley and Adrian went out of the restaurant side by side. There was no intimate movement or contact between them, but they looked match.

Behind them, Trista gritted her teeth angrily!

She made herself a mess but made Shelley get the advantages. How could she be reconciled?

Feeling the pain in her palms, Trista decided to take revenge on Shelley.

Shelley didn't know that Trista hated her because of this. After leaving the restaurant, she waved goodbye to Adrian.

"Thank you for lunch. I'm going back to the company first."

Adrian thought that Shelley would at least insinuate with him about the Cindie project, but she didn't mention anything.

He thought he might think too much again.

There might be a reason for Shelley suddenly proposing to marry him, instead of knowing his identity to fawn with him.

"Okay," Adrian nodded. He paused and then added, "When will you come home? Do you need me to pick you up?"

"No. My friend will take me home."

"Good."

It seemed that there was nothing to say. Shelley waved goodbye to Adrian and then went back to the company.

As soon as Shelley sat down, Mia rushed over and said, "Shelley, do you know Trista's reason for calling for leave just now?"

Shelley didn't speak, just waiting for her next words.

But she couldn't help thinking about where Mia got all this news and why she knew everything.

"She went to eat and was splashed with soup. Hahaha..." Mia couldn't help laughing.

She then asked, "Do you think she will be disfigured?"

"Probably... No." Shelley recalled the temperature of the thick soup at that time and didn't think it would make Trista disfigured.

Shelley had delicate skin. When the soup splashed on the back of her hand at the time, she didn't feel much pain apart from a little tingling at the moment.

It would not be a big problem for Trista.

Mia was a little disappointed when she heard that Trista would not be disfigured, but she was still very happy.

"That must be a retribution!"

Shelley didn't say anything. She smiled and changed the topic. "Enough. Go get yourself busy. Have you finished your case?"

Speaking of this, the smile on Mia's face immediately faded. "Don't ask me this. I have to do it all over again. This is already the third draft, but the client didn't say clearly what he wanted. I have never seen such a picky man!"

Shelley held back her smile and said, "You said the same thing in the last case."

Mia complained again and again, but she still handled the work properly.

Shelley studied the Cindie project all afternoon.

She wanted to discuss it with Zoe, but Zoe was prevaricated and delayed for many reasons.

Shelley felt that the way Zoe looked at her was a little weird.

But she didn't think much about it. She didn't like to speculate on others.

After all, unnecessary speculation would breed misunderstandings easily.

Before getting off work, Shelley received a message from Alfred.

[I'll wait for you at the usual place.]

Knowing that she liked to keep a low profile and didn't want to make too much publicity, Shelley's seniors would park their cars in front of the coffee shop on the next street every time they came to pick her up.

This made Shelley feel very heartwarming. She squinted her eyes and replied to Alfred.

Shelley immediately got up and packed her things when it was time to get off work.

Trotting across a street, she saw Alfred standing at the door from a distance.

Under the navy blue woolen coat, the gray sweater lined him very warmly. There was a cup of coffee in his hand, and he looked very handsome. When he saw Shelley, a warm smile appeared on his face.

When Shelley ran close, Alfred stretched out his hand to fix her hair that was blown by the wind. He then handed her the coffee and asked, "Are you running over here?"

"Yeah." Shelley smiled softly. The warmth in the palm spread to her heart.

Alfred looked at her and thought of a sentence inexplicably.

"If I'm going to see you, I will run to you."

Thinking of this, his heart softened, and he couldn't suppress the smile on his face. "You don't have to be so hurry. It's so cold, and your face turned red after running all the way here."

"I haven't seen you for a long time. I miss you, Alfred." Shelley said, "Is our teacher okay? How about the other seniors?"

"They are all fine." Alfred liked to see Shelley thinking about them. "It's cold outside. Let's get into the car first."

"Okay."

Alfred opened the car door for Shelley gentlemanly. After getting into the car, Shelley couldn't wait to ask as soon as the car drove out, "Mr. Davis said before that he was coming back. Is it true?"

"Yeah." Alfred concentrated on driving and took the time to answer her question. "He is going to take us back to start our own brand."

"When?"

"I don't know yet. Mr. Davis said that he is waiting for someone's news."

Shelley then asked some other questions, and Alfred answered them all.

Before knowing it, Alfred drove to the restaurant he had booked.

The doorman came and opened the door. After getting off the car, Shelley glanced at the high-end and luxurious restaurant decorations and said helplessly, "Alfred, you will spend a lot of money again."

"It's rare for me to have a meal with you, so I have to choose a better place." Alfred wanted to give Shelley all the good things in the world.

Being warmed by his doting tone, Shelley smiled sweetly and said, "Thank you, Alfred."

The cold wind ruffled her hair.

Under the white down jacket, there was a sweet smile on Shelley's fair face. She looked up at Alfred with gentle eyes.

Alfred naturally fixed her messy hair and then pulled up the scarf around her neck, covering most of her face, leaving only her clear eyes exposed.

The screen was indescribably intimate and harmonious.

In a black Cayenne approaching slowly on the side of the road, Michael sat in the passenger seat and looked at the picturesque man and woman at the entrance of the restaurant in disbelief.

"Mr. Layton, is that Ms. Harper?" He couldn't believe that the woman who married Adrian would have a romantic relationship with another man in the cold wind.

How could she be so blatant?

Adrian had seen Shelley from a distance.

"Yes."

She said that she had an appointment for dinner with someone in the evening, but he didn't expect that she would also come to this restaurant.
