CHAPTER TWO
Anya's POV
"I poisoned you. I, Anya, The one you never concerned yourself with, thinking she was not a threat. I have been drugging you since the rogue attack." I paused watching his facial expression carefully, I didn't want to miss a single thing. His eyes widened again before they turned to fury, He struggled countlessly to mind-link his beta but I know he was too weak to do that.
"What are you trying to do? Mindlink your beta? Stop trying because you would never be able to do it. The poison has weakened your system so much that you are nothing but a living corpse now. Even turning wolf can't save you now." I said tauntingly.
"You made me suffer so much. It was torture having to wake up next to your face every single day. You deserve this, you deserve worse than this and nobody will ever suspect that I had a hand in your death" I said. His face was wrenched in pain. He clutched his chest tightly as he groaned in pain.
The doctor had told me that everyone would think he had a heart attack and died because of it. It would look more natural to everyone.
"I hope you rot in hell, it was made especially for people like you" I uttered bitterly as he finally stopped breathing. He lay with his hand on his chest and his eyes wide open. I chuckled happily, tears streaming down my face. I had done it. I finally got what I always longed for. Revenge! sweet when the plan works out.
I finally avenged the death of my parents and my pack even though it was not easy having to pretend to love the enemy. I had always fought the urge to kill him by plunging a dagger into his throat whenever I set my eyes on him. But I held myself back and my patience had finally paid off. I hope my parents can finally rest in peace now, I closed my eyes, reveling in the victory for a while, I spat on his body as I opened my eyes, the feeling of disgust, rising in my stomach.
I continued reveling in my victory for a while before screaming out for help. The guards rushed in, watching everything that was happening.
"No, you can't die. You can't leave me behind. Please wake up," I waved loudly like I was concerned. I cried my supposed mind out. But deep inside, I was smiling, relishing in my victory. I finally got the revenge for myself and my people like I have always wanted.
The beta and some omegas rush in and in, and within moments, all I could hear was loud wailings from the omegas
"Get out, we will get his body ready," the beta orders, and the guards bow before leaving.
"On your way out quickly get the doctor. We need to confirm before making any decision. We can't act in haste," he said to them trying to take control of the situation.
"Luna, stop crying now. The doctor will be here soon," he said to me, maybe in a bid to console me, I nod my head in the affirmative while drying my eyes, "Doctor? What a joke. He's dead and there's nothing that can be done about it. Even his wealth and power that he had always boasted about can't revive him now." I thought within me as I saw the rush and haste they were all in.
The doctor came in, hurriedly checking his pulse. He listened to his heartbeat with his stethoscope. sighing as he did so, "The Alpha is deceased. Time of death 4:00 pm," he pronounced the Alpha dead using his hands to cover his eyes and covering his head with the blanket. I started to cry again.
"What really happened? I thought you said he was getting better?" the beta asked curiously.
"He had a heart attack. A heart attack is very common for old and sick people like him," the doctor replied, trying to explain the situation.
The beta sighed. "But what made him suddenly have a heart attack? Only the Luna had been talking to him." He asked, I felt my heart beat somewhat increase but slowly return to normal because I was assured nothing would be exposed.
"Well his health was already unstable and anything could lead to a heart attack. As I stated, it's common in older people." The doctor replied, making me smirk inwardly, then I heard the beta sigh loudly again.
They paid their respect to him. I had already done mine by spitting on him, that is what he deserves, I watched them move in turn.
"Luna, don't cry anymore. You have to be strong for your pack. We can't question the will of the moon goddess," the beta consoled me.
"I was not expecting this to happen so soon. I did not expect him to die so soon. I am not prepared," I sobbed, as they both looked on in pity.
"Nobody was prepared," he said.
"I was. I was very prepared. I've been prepared since I stepped into this pack as his wife. I was prepared since the rogues attacked him. I was prepared when his health started to deteriorate." I said in my mind.
"Alert the pack of the Alpha's death while we prepare for the funeral," the Beta said to the Omega as they both left.
Soon enough, I hear louder wailing from the members of the pack saying he was a good man., "Good man? They delude themselves. He never cared for anybody but himself. He was very selfish. He went to pointless wars just to conquer and show his power to the world. He was willing to allow thousands of his people to die in a war without a cause. He had no conscience, They should be glad he's finally out of their lives. His funeral should be a celebration party for everyone. He doesn't deserve anyone's sad tears. They must be crying because they lost their beast of an Alpha but I am crying because of how happy I am that he's gone. I am elated. My heart is filled with so much joy more than I can fathom." I watched on to their wailing.
