Chapter 6 Tensions and Temptations

CHAPTER 6

ALPHA XAVIER'S POV

Arriving at the office, I was glad that Christian kept to his words, staring at him as he waved his hands, he was already waiting for me. This was surprising, remembering I thought he was in the kitchen preparing his breakfast.

"I thought you were cooking when I called?" I inquired, wondering if he had other secret powers that he didn't want to talk about.

"I wasn't, I only lied to understand your words which sounded very scary to me, I was at that coffee shop when you called" He divulged pointing to the coffee shop, opposite the gates of the office.

"Yeah right " I understood her words.

"We have to find a way to deal with these clients" I trembled at the fact that I was going to sit and watch this company go down the drain without doing anything to stop it.

"About that I have a suggestion which is very stupid because"

"Tell me about it" I chimed in to his words, ideas was all I needed at this point not useless words.

"I think we should put up a meeting with all the staffs and inform them about their salary reduction which would give us enough funds to hold on for a while before we come up with a better solution" His words were the worst plans I could ever imagined, the consequences of this action stared right into my face.

"This idea of yours would scare off our most valued staffs and this would be to our detriment. We can't risk this" I shaded off the thoughts of Christian's idea as I walked over to the telephone.

"Get me a bottle of whiskey"

"What do you mean? This is our only option," He was persistent on his words, this is surprisingly the only way out of this and I couldn't help but shed off a tear that escaped my eyelids.

"This means we have to see others fall because we're too proud to fall" I argued against Christian's words, his words were too good to be true, the adverse effects were more heavier than the advantages he was speaking about.

"Sometimes they have to make sacrifices for the greater good of this company" Christian declared as he walked over to the door and collected the bottle of whiskey and two cups.

"This is insane" I uttered as I downed the whole cup of whiskey at once, trying to ease off the tension that overcrowded my mind.

"Well our company is insane but this might be the only chance we have to make it sane again" Christian was trying hard to have me conjoined to his idea, but a part of me was still relentless.

"Can we talk about this another time, I need days to think through this" I growled in croaky tone.

"I'll give you time, I'll let the clients give us half a year to sort the issues"

"Do that because it's the only way we have saving grace" I appreciated his thoughts, this thought in particular and not the former one.

"Remember I'm just a phone call away" I was infuriated that Christian was still in my office.

"Bye" I sighed as I refilled my cup and gulped it to the last drop, my mind was raging with thoughts. I didn't even realize when I slept off on my desk.

The alarm for the mid-day lunch with Aurora pulled me out of the shackles of slumber.

"Fuck, now I've got to meet Aurora with a mouth filled with the olfaction of alcohol," I chortled as I walked out of my office, heading into the elevator.

I got into the lounge, had my bath and changed my clothing, wearing something mild; a black leather jacket, ash colored T-shirt and a blue jeans, not leaving out the beautiful brown timberlands shoe, I stepped out packing my hair in a ponytail style, Christian was surprised wondering why I was dressed like an idol. I cared less about the admiration chants from the workers.

Half an hour later, I stepped out of the car staring at Aurora seated at the table, I guess she must be pissed that I kept her waiting for over thirty minutes.

"Jeez you look ravishing, more like a snack. I could eat you just about now" Aurora uttered as she hugged me instantly, planting a soft kiss on my lips.

I was so happy staring at Aurora's beautiful face, she wore this beautiful purple gown that barely covered her eye catching boobs.

"What's with the change of attire?" I expected this question from her, anyone who would see me like this would definitely want to know the reason behind it.

"Well just decided to" I lied, couldn't tell her that my company was on the verge of falling.

"Hmm, well it's cool and I love it" Aurora gestured wearing a broad smile on her face.

"Knew you would,"

"Ma'am what would you like to eat?" The Waiter interrupted our conversation, staring at Aurora, I knew she was ready to knock out the lights out of the waitress but I held her hands down, rubbing them slowly as I eased off her anger.

"We'll have the chicken sauce with the mint leaves, the oak pie and that this stakes” I was wondering why Aurora would have meat all through her diet. It felt very weird to me.

"Isn't that a meat diet?" I knew what it was, but I didn't know the reason behind it, which I curiously asked,.

"Yeah I want my hips bigger and my skin more silk than ever" She stuttered,

"Well I'll just have a glass of brandy" I uttered, having no appetite for meals.

"Fine taste for sultry wines sir" she licked her lips; I knew what she was trying to do.

"Hmm," she stared into my eyes, distinctively.

"Get us our orders peasant” Aurora growled, as everyone's attention was drawn to her.

"Why did you do that?" I was pissed at Aurora's attitude, always being insensitive.

"I had to, she was already drooling staring at you"

"Are you scared of losing me to another woman?"
