CHAPTER THREE
CHAPTER THREE
Imelda's Pov
Few months later.
I and Alpha Xavier sat on a large rock overlooking the valley, enjoying the peaceful view. The sun was setting, casting a warm golden glow over the trees and the river below. They had just returned from a successful hunt and were basking in the afterglow of their victory.
"That was quite a hunt," Alpha Xavier said, breaking the comfortable silence. "You were amazing out there, Imelda."
I smiled, feeling a warm flutter in my chest at his words. "Thank you, Xavier. You weren't too shabby yourself."
Alpha Xavier chuckled. "I try to keep up with you, Imelda, You're a fierce hunter."
Imelda leaned in closer to him, feeling a sudden surge of boldness. "Speaking of fierceness," she murmured, "there's something I've been wanting to ask you."
Alpha Xavier turned to look at her, his eyes curious. "What is it?"
I took a deep breath, gathering my courage. "I know we've been friends for a long time, but I can't help feeling like there's something more between us. I've been trying to ignore it, but I can't anymore."
Alpha Xavier's eyes widened in surprise, and I could tell just by looking at him that his heart skipped some beats.
I know he had always felt a strong connection with me, but he had never dared to act on it. Maybe he was afraid of ruining our friendship.
"Imelda , I..." he trailed off, at a loss for words.
I took his hand, my eyes locking with his. "Xavier, I know it's a risk, but I can't ignore this feeling anymore. I want to be with you."
Alpha Xavier's heart swelled with joy and relief. "Imelda, I want that too. More than anything."
We leaned in, our lips meeting in a soft, tender kiss. It was like a spark ignited between us, and we both felt a rush of heat and desire.
As we pulled away, we looked at each other, our eyes shining with love.
"I can't believe we waited this long," I whispered, a smile spreading across my face.
Alpha Xavier chuckled. "Better late than never, I suppose."
But as we sat there, basking in the glow of our newfound love, a shadow fell across us. We turned to see Alpha Blake standing there, his expression dark and brooding.
"Well, well, well," he sneered. "What do we have here?"
I and Alpha Xavier stood up, our bodies tensing in preparation.
"What do you want, Alpha Blake?" I asked, my voice steady despite the fear i felt inside.
Alpha Blake's eyes flickered over to Alpha Xavier before returning to me. "I heard you made a truce with your father," he said. "I also heard you've been spending a lot of time with this one."
I stepped forward, positioning myself between Alpha Blake and Alpha Xavier. "What's your point, Blake?"
I had to do this now because i felt like Alpha Xavier would jump on Alpha Blake to kill him as i could sense his anger already.
Alpha Blake's expression twisted with malice. "My point is that I don't trust you, Imelda . You've always been a wild cat, and now that you've got yourself a mate, I'm even more wary of you. I don't want you causing trouble for my pack."
I narrowed her eyes. "We have no intention of causing trouble, Blake. We just want to live in peace and protect our pack."
Though Alpha Blake's hands itched to cut off my hands at the mention of 'We.''
Alpha Blake snorted. "Peace? You think you can just declare peace and everything will be fine? This is a dangerous world, Imelda. You should know that better than anyone."
Alpha Xavier stepped forward, his voice firm. "We're not afraid of danger, Blake. We're prepared to do whatever it takes to protect our pack and our loved ones."
Alpha Blake's eyes gleamed with a dangerous light. "Is that so? Well, I hope you're ready for what's coming, because I won't hesitate to take what I want... Brat!" Alpha Blake said.
With the way he sounded one could tell vividly that he hates Alpha Xavier.
With that, he turned and stalked away, leaving I and Alpha Xavier standing there, our hearts racing with fear and adrenaline.
"We can handle him," Alpha Xavier said, his voice low and reassuring. "We'll face whatever comes together."
I nodded, feeling a spark of love and gratitude for the man standing before me. I knew we had a long road ahead of us, but with him by my side, i felt like they could face anything.
We stood there for a few moments longer, watching as Alpha Blake disappeared into the shadows. I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that settled in my stomach. I knew Alpha Blake was not to be underestimated, and we needed to be prepared for any kind of attack.
Alpha Xavier sensed my unease and put his arm around me. "It's going to be okay, Imelda. We'll be ready for whatever he throws our way."
I leaned into him, feeling comforted by his presence. "I know," I said, "but we can't let our guard down. We need to be vigilant and prepared for anything."
Alpha Xavier nodded. "Agreed. We'll make sure our pack is ready for any kind of attack."
I let out a deep breath, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. I knew i was in good hands with Alpha Xavier by my side. Together, we would face whatever challenges that came our way.
As we made their our way back to the pack, I couldn't help but think about the plot twist that had just occurred. I had always known that Alpha Blake was a threat, but now it seemed like he was actively plotting against us.
I knew we had to be careful and stay one step ahead of him. But with Alpha Xavier by my side, I felt like we could handle anything. I smiled to myself, feeling grateful for the love and support of Alpha Xavier rendered to me.
The road ahead might be rocky, but I am confident we would face it together
