Chapter 7

Our laughter erupted when our fun was over.

"Do you know the lyrics?" I asked Kahina.

"No, but I love the beats though," she laughed.

"Let's do an English song now," she suggested.

"Which one?" I asked.

"How about...... Let's see how seductive you can be. I'll shoot a video of you singing ‘Bed’ by Ariana and Nicki. It's going to be fun!"

"Ooh... Let’s do it!" I agreed only because I was tipsy, otherwise I would never have done it.

"Go near the pool, and get some water on you," she ordered.

"My suit will be sticky," I complained.

"That's the whole point. Don't be timid, I know you, Avah."

"Fine," I huffed.

She played the song and started recording. Thank God I knew the words otherwise, I would look like a confused sexy woman. While I sang and danced, I turned to face the other side, so she could take a video of me twerking. Well, this was not something I do every day, the alcohol helped.

I found his eyes looking at me. I didn't want to panic. I refused to panic. So I kept going, but my eyes locked on his. The movement of my waist, hands, hair, and my head were all seductive. I couldn't help but check what he was wearing, while I sang that part of the song about sweatpants. Ironically he had sweatpants on.

I blushed at the thought that crossed my mind. I continued until the very end, I licked my bottom lip and blew him a kiss. When the music changed I felt like a spell broke, and now I was back to reality. Before I could embarrass myself further, I went back to Kahina.

What the hell did I do? Why did I stare at him like that? I must be mad. Shit!! And what was he doing here? No!!!!!! I wanted to scream in frustration, but I couldn't. I went to the table holding my cocktail and chugged the whole glass.

"You look sexy in this video," Kahina complimented as she watched it again.

"For real?" I couldn't believe it, "Let me see."

"You should change your career and become an artist."

"Tone down the flattery, Kahina."

"But it's true. You can't see it yourself but I can."

"Fine."

I was still embarrassed though. What I did was what I usually do in the shower or in my room. Why did I put myself on display like that? Why???? Wasn't I embarrassed enough? Why would Namjoon see it of all the people!!! Fate was playing a terrible joke on me.

I suddenly stood up, "I'm going to the bathroom" I announced.

"Okay, okay" said a distracted Kahina.

On the way, I wished the ground would open up and swallow me alive. I have never been so embarrassed in my life. Like the fuck! And why was Namjoon there of all the places on this earth? Who brought him here? My embarrassment morphed into anger.

I started hitting my head on the wall near the washrooms.

"Why?????" I kept moaning.

"Are you okay?" someone asked behind me.

"Noooo, I want to die," I continued.

I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Hey" he said.

Wait..... I stopped. I know that voice. It can't be.....it can't be... I really wished it wasn't.

I turned to face him. Lord! Could this day get any worse? Namjoon stood in front of me. Hands in his pockets. He was wearing a gray shirt and some gray sweatpants. I wished I could run away, but I couldn't. His eyes watched me like a hawk.

"Are you okay?" he asked the second time.

"I'm okay," I whispered.

"Why are you hitting your head on the wall?" he asked.

"Noooo, well...mmmh, it's nothing," I fumbled with my words.

Pause. Hold up. This has never happened in my whole twenty-six years of existence. Me....shy... I never thought I would live to see this day.

'He is a person like everyone else, get a grip' I scolded myself.

He kept watching me. He didn't waver. When people say he is the most attentive person, they are right.

'Aaaih! Look elsewhere please' I begged in my head.

"I'm okay. Actually, I'm perfect, thank you for asking," I said this time with some confidence.

He didn't look convinced though. I felt this boldness within me. So I stood on my toes, raising my hand and placing it on his shoulder. Damn, he had large shoulders, and why was this man so tall? Fighting for the tallest spot. I thought the pictures were exaggerating his height, but they weren't. He was so tall that he was towering over me.

Damn, we were so close now. I could feel his breath. I should say something, but what? ‘Think Avah, think’ I tried to focus while I felt losing myself in his gaze.

I opened my mouth, as to speak, but no words came out. My mind went blank for a split second, and instinctively I raised my toes and…

I ran away from him.

I ran all the way from the washrooms back to my friend. I stopped when I was in front of her. I was panting so badly like I had climbed a mountain. Clearly, I was unfit.

"Hey, hey....what is it?" asked Kahina.

"You won't imagine who I saw..."

"Who?"

"Guess?" I said.

"You are wasting my time. Namjoon?" she said nonchalantly.

"How did you know?" I asked.

"Well, first I don't think anyone can make you run in this world except him or zombies. And since we are not in a zombie apocalypse it leaves only one answer."

"Really?" I was impressed.

"Hell noo, dummy.... I saw Jungkook in the elevator as I was coming to your room. I'm not a seer you know...."

"Why didn't you tell me? Maybe I could have been prepared mentally."

"And what exactly?" she asked. "Avah, you are in love with this man, nothing can prepare you ever!!!"

Her explanation made sense, but still, why did I feel so slighted? I mean I couldn't prepare myself that much, but at least I wouldn't have freaked out when I saw them as I did.

"You are so in your fangirl era."

"And you are a bad friend," I said pointing at her.

I felt like I needed to win this argument. I needed a win and she was exhibiting some hater behavior right now.

"If you don't stop pointing at me, I will throw you in the pool!" she threatened.

"As if you can," I retorted as I folded my arms on my chest.

She stood up quickly and ran towards me. The instinct in me to run won and I ran across the swimming pool.

"You will regret calling me a bad friend!" she yelled as she ran after me.

We ran around the pool and went to the other side. While running, I didn't notice I stopped around their table. It didn't even hit me when I tried to use them as my shield.

"I call a truss," I said while I was panting.

My body felt so heavy today.

'Was it because of all the alcohol we had consumed?' I wondered.

She stood on the other side of the table.

"No, I will get my revenge," she said stubbornly.

"If you don't stop, I'll give you an injection while you sleep and you won't know which one," I threatened.

"You psychopath!!!" she yelled. "How can you be a doctor? I will never trust you again."

"Well, you were a bad friend."

While we were busy arguing, someone coughed. We both stopped and tried to locate the sound.

"Who the hell is coughing on such a hot day?" Kahina yelled as usual.

We both looked at the table between us.
