Victoria

I woke up to the sound of slight chattering. But only from one voice.

The voice was unfamiliar to me and I slowly opened my eyes.

Pain wrapped me up in it's arms and I groaned, sitting up.

"Hey, Love." A female's voice greeted and I looked around.

She was the school nurse.

August sat in the corner with his shirt hanging on his shoulder.

"You were hit with a student." She said and I furrowed  my eyebrows.

"Don't you mean by?" I asked and she shook her head, giving me a smile and pointing to the door.

"You're free to leave." She said and I nodded, getting up and limping slowly toward the door.

Lunch was over and now I had Chemistry.

Groaning, I leaned against the wall for a second before looking down at my stomach.

I felt my ribs and hissed.

"You better not be broken." I told it and sighed.

When I looked up, though, August was leaning on the wall across the hall.

How he moves so silently, is beyond me.

He walked over slowly, still shirtless with his pants hanging below the waistband of his boxers.

Wait, why is he still shirtless?

"Are you good?" He asked and I looked up at him.

"I'm sorry, but do I look good?" I asked and he licked his lips.

I looked down, blood rushing to the base of my cheek.

Shaking it off, I continued limping toward my locker before pulling it open and grabbing my bag.

I might as well wait until class is over. It made no sense going this late.

When I shut my locker, August was now gone.

Sighing, I made my way to the library, grabbing a book before sitting.

Lucifer Wears Leather.

Sounds boring.

I chuckled, opening it and getting engrossed, forgetting about everything around me.

A chair in front of me pulled out and I looked up to see someone sitting down.

It was a guy. Short, buff and had a lot of acne.

Guys have a disadvantage there. They had no makeup to cover the scars and pimples.

"Hey." He said, his voice a tone lighter than that of a regular boy.

His teeth at the top were rotted and his gums were very dark.

Turn off.

I smiled, though. Never judge a book by it's cover.

"What's up?" I asked and he smiled, leaning forward.

"Aren't you a pretty flower." He stated and I was uncomfortable.

"Aren't you an ugly fuck." I heard from behind him and I looked up.

August. For once I'll say,

Amen.

The guy, as expected, got up and looked at him before looking down and walking out of the library.

August looked down at me, a shirt now covering his chest and I was honestly displeased.

Shirtless was the way to go.

"Thank you, so very much." I told him and he nodded, taking a seat.

He motioned to the book I was reading and I held it up for him to see.

He got up and grabbed another book before handing it to me.

Stephen King.

I loved his books. But then again, who doesn't?

I smiled happily, taking the book and placing it next to the one I was already reading.

"Do you read?" I asked him and he shrugged carelessly.

"Sometimes." He answered and now I was intrigued.

"Do you like Stephen King's books?" I questioned and he nodded once.

"The only books I read." He said, leaning back in his seat and shutting his eyes.

"Why are you here, though?" I asked, not being rude.

"Got bored." He replied casually and I nodded, going back to reading.

"You like my company, don't you?" I smirked cockily and the end of his lip tilted upward.

"Perhaps." He replied, rolling his eyes.

He pulled out his phone and looked at something before cussing under his breath.

"You have to be fucking kidding me." He mumbled, massaging his temple.

"I'm not going to mind your business. But I hope everything is okay." I glanced up at him and he looked at me.

He studied me for a while, but his burning gaze was too much for me to handle,

So I looked away.

After a while, the bell rang and I got up, grabbing the books and taking them to the counter.

I'm borrowing these for sure.

I felt him stand behind me and it was confirmed when the lady behind the counter went pale.

Her eyes widened when she saw a grim looking August staring at her coldly.

Yikes. I'd run away.

She quickly stamped the book and handed it to me. I nodded and walked out of the library.

"You scare everyone like that?" I asked and he glanced at me.

"Yes." He said darkly, nodding at me before he walked away,

Disappearing into the crowd.

I went over to my locker and grabbed my book before heading to Math.

I sat down next to Ciara and she looked at me.

"He hasn't killed you yet?" She asked and I laughed, rolling my eyes at her idiocy.

"No, Ciara. He's not that bad." I told her and she shook her head.

"He killed more people than I can count. So I think not." She replied and I sighed, my eyes dropping to my hands.

"He..." I trailed, not knowing what to say and she laughed, grabbing her phone and scrolling.

"Don't make me change your mind about your boyfriend." She said, emphasizing the last word and making me cringe.

She snickered at my face before grabbing a bag of jellybeans from inside of her bag and I wondered how she managed to fit so many things in there daily.
