° Trauma °

Victoria

The images of last night were the only things I remembered.

I'd never witnessed anything like that before.

Then his coldness afterward scared me more.

I laid on the bed in my hotel room, my eyes red and puffy from crying.

I was traumatized.

My stepmother had kicked me out because I stood up for myself.

"You ugly bitch!" She screamed in my face and I smiled at her.

"That's you, Samantha, but what am I?" I asked innocently and she blew a fuse.

It was funny to see actually. I'd probably go back home in a week or two.

I walked into the bathroom and heard the door knock.

Walking over to it, I looked through the peephole and saw that it was August.

I really couldn't deal with him right now. He'd make things worst if anything.

"Go away." I said, my voice coming out hoarse and uneven.

I walked away from the door and went into the bathroom, using it before getting back out.

I screamed. Full on screamed. I was startled.

The door was locked but there August was, standing in the dark corner of the room.

Dracula confirmed.

He stepped out and walked over, sitting on the bed, before he laid.

Taking his gun out, he placed it on the small nightstand and sighed.

"Look, I'm s-" He paused, groaning. "I'm mildly remorseful for your encounter last night." He finished.

I thought about it, but that was a bad idea.

I started shaking again, a panic attack sweeping me up in its arms and holding me hostage.

"Fuck." He mumbled, getting up and walking over to me. "Victoria, relax." He said and I shook my head,

Fighting to breathe.

He stepped forward slightly before pulling me to him and allowing me to hug him.

I was shocked. But I knew this wasn't something he'd usually do,

Judging by his tensed body.

Surprisingly, he was comfortable. His presence was now...calming.

I squeezed him tightly, tears beginning to run down my face as I remembered what I saw.

And I had nobody to help me. Nobody that would understand.

I missed my old life. The old me. A ball up sunshine that showed no sadness.

But look at me now. A depressed pigeon.

"Speak." He said blankly and I laughed.

"You don't know how to comfort someone, huh?" I asked and he looked down at me emotionlessly.

"Here." I placed his hands on my back and taught him a few things.

"That helps you?" He asked and I nodded, stepping away and laying on the bed.

I sighed, letting out a shaky breath.

"I just never saw anything like that, you know? On TV, yeah, but in real life it's so...raw." I told him and he nodded slowly.

He walked over and laid on the bed, staring blankly up at the ceiling.

"Come on." He said, standing up and reaching for my hand.

I gave it to him slowly, but unsurely and he pulled me up and straight outside to his car.

He unlocked it and opened my door for me.

"Thanks." I told him and he nodded, getting in on the other side.

"Where are we going?" I asked and he shook his head.

He sped away and my mind flooded.

What if he's going to kill you?

You did witness two crimes.

He's definitely going to kill you.

Are there oreos in heaven?

Why does his car smell so good?

I felt the car coming to a stop and realized that he parked at the side of the road.

There were nothing but trees surrounding us and I was convinced that they'd find me in a shallow grave somewhere here.

He got out and walked around, opening my door for me.

I hesitantly got out and he took my hand, shutting the door and dragging me into the forest.

By the way he walked and navigated, I knew he'd been here before.

So I let him, a murderer, take me deep into a forest because like the idiot I was,

I trusted everyone.

But I soon saw a clearing that seemed almost unrealistic.

There was a black pond in the middle and around it was clear. No grass or trees.

But the trees surrounding that area casted a shade over it, making it dark and gloomy almost.

I let go of his hand and walked closer, looking around with an amazed face.

Then I walked closer to the water and realized that I couldn't see what was in it.

I turned around and looked behind me for August, but he wasn't there.

"Boo." I heard from next to me and I screamed, jumping slightly.

"You asshole." I laughed as I caught my breath, shaking my head and sitting on a rock near the pond.

"How'd you find this place?" I asked him and he shrugged carelessly.

"Mission." He said and I nodded, grabbing a stick and poking the water.

I was occupied until I heard the sound of a gun being raised up.

I looked over to him and saw him holding it to my head.

"August?" I called quietly, scared for my life. His face was void of emotions and his jaw was tensed.

"I won't kill you." He said, still not putting the gun down.

"Please." I said, looking down at my hands.

"Look at me." He demanded and I did. "I won't, kill you." He said and I sensed truth behind his words.

"Okay." I answered and he nodded,

Pulling the trigger.
