I was lying on my bed when there was a sound that opened the door and didn’t even knock.
I no longer bothered to look who it was because no one but Brandon would dare come here without knocking.
I lifted my head and looked where Brandon was. He was sitting in front of the computer. I was bored so I would ask him what he was doing. I stood up and walked near to him.
"What are you doing? Are you playing?" I asked him. "Can I play with you? I'm so bored," I said and approached him.
"I'm not. It's about the wedding.” He said but the latter was almost like a whisper but still enough for me to hear.
I looked at the screen and saw the wedding. I get the glimpse of ‘You are cordially invited to'. I slowly stepped back and sat down near the window.
"Don’t you think it was too early to prepare for that?" I said bitterly.
I know it's too selfish to ask that but that's what's on my mind. I looked outside and I was still amazed with the surroundings of their house. The forest and the green leaves are relaxing to the eyes.
"It is, but it needs to be prepared,” Brandon uttered and turned to me.
"Can't I just live for one day without it being mentioned?" I could feel the pressure of this marriage.
I glanced at him and smiled. I know I shouldn’t be like this. It’s making me uncomfortable to hear that someone else is already planning what’s going to happen in my life. I feel sad for no reason.
Brandon looked at me. It was as if he was reading my face and what was on my mind. I looked outside and diverted my attention.
"I'm sorry. I made you uncomfortable," Brandon said and turned off the computer and turned back in my direction.
"It would be uncomfortable for me if I were you. I'm sorry I didn't think of that." Brandon added and I looked at him.
I stared at him with a question in my mind and stayed for that second and decided to ask him.
"Do you want this wedding?" I asked him.
"Are you sure about this?" I asked him again. Brandon sighed and leaned back in the chair and was silent for a moment.
"Whether I like it or not, it doesn't matter to Shania," he told me and I waited for what he would say next.
"I am preparing this because I want it to go smoothly,” he continued and took a deep breath, “This is my wedding anyway I still want to give my best.” Then, he also looked outside.
I was silent for a moment when another question came to my mind. I look at his face and he is already looking at me as if he knows I will ask him again.
"Don't you want to marry the person you love?" I asked him because if you were to ask me I would rather marry the person I feel no matter who he is.
"Because I like that.” I smiled and looked out the window again.
"Who doesn't want such a wedding?" He said and I could see him smiling in my head, but right now his face is serious.
"Everyone wants that- that's why I'm getting married," Brandon said but the latter was almost whispering.
I looked at him and tilted my head to read the expression on his face.
"You're bored, didn't you say?" Brandon told me when I was still saying nothing.
"Super bored,” I said and pouted.
"Get dressed comfortably, let's walk outside." He told me and then he immediately left the room.
Take a walk? Outside? Me? And Him? Really? That would be awkward.
I am so bored right now. I was told that it is dangerous for me to walk alone so I guess I don't have a choice but to come with him.
I'll enjoy the scenery until my eyes get tired so I could see them in my dream later.
I changed comfortably as Brandon told me and waited for him to knock on the door so we could go out together.
There was a knock on the door and I didn't bother to open it because I knew Brandon had just entered the room but only a few seconds passed and no one came in so I decided to open it and I saw a maid.
Great! Thanks for ruining my expectations Brandon.
"Mr. Brandon said he'll be waiting for you downstairs.” The maid told me, and she was still not leaving so I looked at her with a question in my eyes. Then, I remembered that they can't leave unless we tell them to.
"Okay. Thank you! You can go," I uttered and she left after I said that.
I went in front of the mirror to get one last look of myself, and I fixed my hair a little then I'm ready to go.
I walked fast and I also quickly went down the stairs. I am looking for Brandon from left to right, but I can't find him so I decided to look outside if he is already there.
I pop my head first to see , but I can't see him either. Then, I decided to go out and look for him but he wasn’t there.
"Where did he go? Maybe it was cancelled? Should I go back inside? Should –the hell I will. I'm already here so I'll take a good look at the place,” I said to myself.
I am thinking if I should go alone, actually I already have done it.
I start to walk slowly to appreciate every little thing that surrounds Brandon’s house. There are so many flowers which the butterflies are flying to and fro.
Trees provide fresh air with a cool breeze. The grasses are long enough to reach the heel and are not that difficult to walk through. I was busy searching when someone grabbed my arm which surprised me. I immediately gasp and hold my breath.
Then, “Shit!” I exclaimed, my heart throbbed and then my senses calmed when I saw it was Brandon. He looked at me as if he could kill me at any moment.
"I told you to wait, didn't I?" His face questioned me directly and I removed his hand from me.
"You told me? When?" I answered him back. He told me nothing, he told the maid not to me, so whatever.
"I told the maid that you need to wait.” He told me I had already started walking towards the house and passed him.
"Shania," he called and I could feel the frustration in his voice. I turned to him and he looked me in the eye and I stopped walking.
"The maid told me you would wait for me, not the other way around. Brandon, straighten out your facts,” I told him what the maid told me.
It's not my fault that he's not there when I come down! I looked for him everywhere and I was bored so I couldn't wait for him that long.
I continued walking after I said that and went inside my room without even stopping. I closed the door and almost heard its band echo in the house.
I opened my closet to change my clothes but it looked like I was looking at someone else's closet so I went out and looked at my bedroom door. I'm sure this is my room and whose clothes are those? Where did my belongings go? I went out of the room to ask one of the maids if my room had changed. I saw Brandon walking closer to me.
“Shania I–“ he said but I continued walking as if I hadn't seen him.
I saw a maid and got her attention. She walked over to me when she saw me calling her.
"Yes miss, do you need anything?" She asked.
"Did my room change? What room should I go to?" I asked her. She looked at me in a puzzled way.
"You don’t know?" I was trying to guess but she did not answer me. Maybe she doesn’t know or is clueless about it.
This is making me crazy for real. I really want to change clothes.
"Where did my clothes go?" I asked again. She glanced at me. Then behind me, I can feel Brandon's presence but I ignored it and kept hoping to find an answer from the maid even though she literally looks like she didn't know a thing.
"We were told to throw them away, miss,” she finally told me.
“Alright,” I replied, but then, “Wait! What? You threw my clothes?” I said almost out loud, realizing the truth of what became of my clothes.
The maid left suddenly after she saw me going hysterical. I’m doomed, what will I wear now? I muttered to myself as I held my temples.
"The clothes in your closet are for you," Brandon said behind me and I turned and gaze at him slowly and for a moment I admit he is handsome.
I shook my head to wake up to my dream that Brandon is handsome.
"Are you kidding me?" I told him. I can tell that those clothes are expensive by just looking at them.
"You don't have to buy me new clothes, Brandon,” I told him but deep inside I was so happy. My heart is dancing because of my happiness.
"I know, but even if I don't need to, I still want to give you the best thing and your clothes is the first thing I can start with," Brandon said then he put his hand in his pocket that made him very cool.
