Chapter 6:New apartment
Imogen pov
I opened the door to my new apartment and was instantly struck by the beauty of the space. The walls were a soft, neutral color, and the windows let in plenty of natural light. The furniture was modern and stylish, and there were small touches of art and greenery throughout. The kitchen was sleek and well-appointed, and the living room had a cozy, inviting feel. I couldn't help but smile, taking it all in.
Maxwell left as soon as he dropped me, I was overwhelmed and I internally thank the moon goddess for making me come across the interview luckily I was given the job with all these benefits
I entered the apartment and tossed my bag onto the couch, not even bothering to take off my coat. I was completely transfixed by the beauty of the apartment, my eyes darting from one detail to the next. I wandered around the space, taking it all in, my hands running over the smooth surfaces. Everything was perfect, from the tile in the kitchen to the soft rugs in the living room. I was utterly captivated, lost in my little world.
I didn't expect to see myself in such a place so soon, I thought I would still be sleeping from pub to pub or at the old man's apartment
I entered the bathroom and turned on the faucet, letting the water run until it was the perfect temperature. I added a bit of bubble bath, and the room was soon filled with the sweet scent of lavender. I undressed, leaving my clothes neatly folded on the counter. I stepped into the bath and felt the warm water envelop me, soothing my tired muscles. I closed my eyes and let the stress of the day melt away.
I stepped into the bath, and the warm water surrounded me, enveloping me in a feeling of comfort and relaxation. I let my body sink into the water, feeling the tension release from my muscles. I could feel the stress of the day melting away, and I took a deep breath, savoring the moment. My mind drifted, and I found myself lost in thought.
"How could I not have noticed?" I said out loud, I couldn't what happened on that day, I was so sure Adam would have picked me but unfortunately, he didn't and today I was told that I have babies in my womb
I stepped out of the bathtub, I couldn't help but feel frustrated. I had been hoping that the bath would relax me, but it had only made me more aware of the stresses in my life. I dried myself off and wrapped myself in a soft, cozy bathrobe. I felt the plush fabric against my skin, and it was a small comfort amid my stress. I stood there for a moment, trying to figure out what to do next.
I opened the wardrobe, hoping to find a few clothes in it because I had nothing to wear. I exhaled sharply and a faint smile appeared on my face as my eyes caught sight of the few clothes inside the wardrobe, my eyes scanned the clothes inside. There were a few dresses, but none of them were quite right my size. I decided to go with a shirt instead, even though it was a bit too big for me. I pulled it on, and it hung loosely on my small body. I stood in front of the mirror, trying to decide if I looked okay. The shirt was a little too baggy, but I didn't have anything else to wear. She sighed, knowing that I would just have to make do.
It was just for tonight and after tonight, I would visit the thrift store and buy a few clothes for myself before earning enough money to buy expensive clothes from big malls
I opened the wardrobe again, and this time, I pulled out a pair of jeans. I slipped them on, and they fit perfectly. I grabbed my new apartment keys and wallet and headed out the door. I walked down the street, looking for a cab to take me to my destination. It was already, and the air was cold. I took a deep breath, enjoying the fresh air. Finally, I spotted a cab and waved it down.
I had to get my clothes from where I stayed before so that I find something to wear. I approached the chauffeur, I noticed that he was dressed neatly in a suit and tie. He opened the door for me, and I got into the backseat of the car. "Good evening, ma'am," he said, his voice calm and professional. I smiled and said, "Good evening to you too." The chauffeur closed the door and got into the driver's seat. He started the car and told I told him the address of where I was going
The car pulled up in front of a small, unassuming apartment building. I opened the door and stepped out onto the sidewalk. The chauffeur turned to look at me, and I smiled and handed him some money. "Thank you," I said, and he smiled and nodded in return. He drove off and I made my way into the small apartment
The kind man that took me in wasn't in the apartment now, I assumed that he had a night shift. I wrote a letter for him and dropped it on the table before packing my bags to leave
I walked out of the room, closing the door behind me. I had packed a small bag with my little belongings, since I moved into this city, I own just a few clothes, just enough to get me through the next days. I locked the door, then turned and started walking down the street. I could spot a taxi stand a few blocks away, and I began to walk in that direction.
I got close to the taxi and opened the door to the taxi and climbed inside. The driver looked at me expectantly, and I gave him the address of where I was going. He nodded and started the car, pulling away from the curb. I sat back in the seat, looking out the window at the passing cityscape.
