Chapter 5

That afternoon, a familiar person suddenly found me.

It was Jasmine.

No longer the proud figure at the set, she looked disheveled.

She sat in a corner of the cafe and asked me, "You must be angry at how Cecilia treated you, right?"

"I know, you worked so hard to live up to Simon, and she ruined it all. I have photos of her spending the night with Simon. Once it's exposed, if you stand up and say that you are the rightful girlfriend, she will be destroyed." She added.

Silence was my response.

I finished drinking a whole glass of lemon water, shaking my head and rejecting her.

I knew she held a grudge, but I underestimated her madness.

Her cherished acting career was easily destroyed by Simon, causing her to lose her sanity.

That night, Cecilia and Simon's intimate photo became a trending topic.

A so-called informant revealed, "Simon has a girlfriend whom he has been together with for several years. I have seen them having meals together, and that person is definitely not Cecilia."

To prove her words were not false, she also posted a photo.

Due to it being taken secretly, the picture was a bit blurry, but one could still see the woman in the photo with short hair, a slim figure, and a teardrop mole at the corner of her eye.

She was looking up, brightly gazing at the man opposite her.

As I looked at the photo, I was somewhat stunned.

This was taken two years ago, shortly after my grandmother passed away.

That photo took me back to the past.

During that time, my mood had always been quite low.

Simon took me to a newly opened niche restaurant.

They served homemade dishes from my hometown.

The seasoning used was exactly the same as my grandmother's decades-long habit.

I took a bite and knew he had specifically brought me here, so I raised my head and sincerely thanked him.

"Thank you, Mr. Turner."

He just smirked and said, "Diana, does anyone call their boyfriend like that?"

He asked me to call him Simon.

I couldn't get used to such intimacy, so I could only address him by both his first and last name.

"Diana!"

I snapped out of it and saw Simon walking in with a stern face, striding towards me.

He raised his hand and gave me a slap, then grabbed my collar and pushed me towards the edge of the table.

A photo was forcefully thrown in front of me.

It was a photo of me and Jasmine sitting in a dimly lit corner of a cafe.

His voice was ice-cold, "What else are you not satisfied with? If it weren't for your resemblance to Cecilia, you wouldn't even have the qualification to prostitute yourself for money! And now, you join hands with someone else to frame Cecilia. How can you be such a malicious woman!"

My cheek stung from the intense pain, and the tightly clutched collar choked my neck, causing waves of suffocation.

I opened my mouth and struggled to speak, "It wasn't me."

"I rejected her." Simon refused to believe me.

He forcefully squeezed my chin, scrutinizing my face up and down, as if he wanted to gouge a piece of flesh with his eyes.

After a while, he coldly laughed, "Trash, truly despicable."

He let go of me and watched as I weakly collapsed to the ground, then slammed the door and left.
