Chapter 2 Betrayed by Her Sister

"Don't be scared. Mommy is here..."

Her heart tightened. She crawled over, about to hold the babies, when suddenly, a foot stomped on her hand.

"Haley, you really do have some skill. You actually gave birth to a pair of twins."

Emily looked at the babies with a cold and sinister expression.

"Too bad, these two bastard children met such an unfortunate fate. They only lived a few seconds before dying."

"Nonsense! My children are not dead!" Haley's heart almost exploded.

She reached out to touch the babies, wanting to feel their faces and gently pat their little bottoms.

However, before she could touch their soft bodies, a maid walked in, coldly picking up the two babies from the ground.

"Ms. Emily, how should we dispose of these two dead infants?"

Emily didn't care at all about whether the babies were alive or dead. If they died, seeing Haley's sadness would bring her immense joy.

Of course, even if these two children were alive, it wouldn't matter. With two illegitimate children of an unknown father, Haley would never be able to turn her life around.

Emily's gaze unintentionally fell on the two babies.

Following that, she recalled that on the second day after Haley's accident, it seemed like the entire city was looking for a woman for the Winston family.

Emily began to wonder if it was Ivan who had a tryst with the promiscuous Haley.

Even the thought of it had her eyes widened in astonishment.

She couldn't utter a single word.

"Emily, we are sisters. Please take my babies to the hospital. They haven't died yet, they're still alive... The doctors can definitely save them."

Haley grabbed hold of Emily's clothes, desperately pleading, "I promise you anything you want, I can give you the shares, and I don't want to inherit the DeRoss Group. Emily, as long as you can save the lives of my babies…"

Emily snapped back to her senses and kicked Haley away with her foot.

Coldly, she said, "The two bastards are dead, taking them to the hospital won't help. Someone, carry the bastards out and bury them wherever."

"No--!"

Haley was shattered, and she desperately crawled after them.

Emily kicked her over with one foot. "Haley, you just gave birth, you better rest well. Look at yourself. You're still bleeding, Father won't even agree to take you to the hospital. You're on your own."

After saying that, she slammed the door shut.

"No! Emily! Emily! You can't do this! Give me back my children!"

Haley grabbed onto the railing of the iron gate and bellowed in agony.

Her eyes were filled with pain, bloodshot and filled with boundless hatred deep within her icy irises.

Her children had died, and Emily was the murderer.

Perhaps her gaze was too sharp, but Emily was frightened by it.

Even animals seek revenge if their offspring die. If Haley miraculously survived, she would surely be her relentless enemy.

On top of that, the shares of the DeRoss Group were still in the hands of that detestable woman.

Emily turned her head and looked coldly at the guard at the gate. "John, the DeRoss family has an esteemed guest coming in the next few days. Go attend to the front yard. You don't need to worry about here."

Emily initially didn't intend to take Haley's life. However, she had slept with the most esteemed man in Cuenca. If that detestable woman were to get involved with Ivan in the future, everything Emily had planned would be ruined.

Since it had come to this, Emily had no choice. With that, she picked up a large lock and locked the iron gate.

Haley had just given birth and the babies died. Experiencing both physical and emotional trauma, she would most likely bleed to death soon.

Emily had just reached the entrance when a maid hurriedly approached. "Miss, the two babies didn't die, they're crying again..."

Emily was utterly surprised. She hurriedly said, "Quick, take me to see..."
