Where am I?

Clarissa was up early the next morning. She packed her books into her bag as she prepared to go to the library. She turned to her best friend who laid on her bed with no intention of leaving anytime soon.

She had a hangover from last night. “How were you able to get up this early?” Issei asked as she tried moving her body but it didn’t respond to her wishes.

“I have a better alcohol tolerance than you do” she pointed out.

“Oh, thanks for reminding me about that. Could you do me a favor and hand over my assignments at college today? I don’t think I will be able to go today. This headache is killing me slowly” she cried out as she looked at Clarissa with pitiful face, hoping she would say yes and take it along with her.

“No” Clarissa said before grabbing the bag that she had been arranging for the day.

“Come on, please just this once, look at your poor sick friend and help her” she begged.

Clarissa sighed before looking at the bag of bones lying down on the bed. “Just this once and after this I won’t ever help you again”

“Oh thank you so much, my guardian angel” Issei said as Carissa walked towards her bed to pick up the assignments, placing it into the bag she was taking along with her.

She grabbed her ear pods from the table and plugged them into her ears before leaving.

It was the beginning of a new day and although it was still a bit dark, it was a regular day for her. She walked down the road a bit before approaching the bus stop.

On getting there she sat down waiting for the bus along with other early birds. They weren’t too many, just the few serious-minded people that had to get to town before the traffic started.

The first bus arrived and a couple of people rushed in, virtually everyone who was waiting entered into the bus.

But Clarissa sat still, the bus wasn’t going in Clarissa's direction. She sat waiting for the bus going to the campus to arrive. Although she had a car, she enjoyed taking the bus. From her house to the campus was about a 45-minute drive and she tried to take a nap most times while on the bus as it drove to campus, it helped her recharge and get ready for the day.

As she sat on the bench waiting for the next bus, she spotted someone standing in the distance.

The person then started walking towards her in a weird way which made her scared, as the same person was also dressed in black along with a hoodie over his head.

As the person got closer to Clarissa, she had already placed her hand into her bag ready to pull out her pepper spray to defend herself.

The place where she had chosen to study was mixed with humans and it was her duty to hide the identity of the wolves, it was something most humans knew already but she preferred to keep it on a low.

The person got closer before taking a seat right beside her.

Clarissa’s hands were still inside her bag as she clenched onto the bottle of the pepper spray like her life depended on it, she observed the strangers movement just one funny move and he would be screaming, she said to herself.

“Excuse me” the deepness of the strangers voice made her spray the contents she had in my hand immediately.

“OH MY GOSH, WHAT’S YOUR PROBLEM?” he cried out as he held his eyes struggling to open them in order to see but he couldn’t causing him to fall off the chair, his hoodie fell off his head while he was trying to get rid of this burning sensation.

“YOU!” Clarissa said immediately remembering the guy from the party last night.

“ME? Why would you do that. Do I look like a thief or a bad guy?” he asked as his eyes were still burning.

“I’m sorry but you scared me and besides who wears a hoodie this early in the morning?” She asked.

“EVERYONE WITH BRAINS!” he yelled, she turned to her bag pulling out her bottle of water she had kept for the day.

She turned the water into his hands trying to help him wash his eyes

“So what if I was an old helpless man would you have also sprayed me?”

“No matter who you are, creeping up on somebody like this is not good, maybe next time someone would stab you in the face then you’d know not to sneak up on people”

“Well not everybody is as close-minded as you think or evil. Ahh! my god it burns” he cried out.

“Let me see” Clarissa moved closer to him not wanting to seem like a heartless person, Gabriel slowly opened his eyes and she was right about the color of his eyes yesterday, they were blue and beautiful but now they were a bit red because of her actions

Although the flashing light at the club was a little bit dim she was able to see it.

As she smiled subconsciously, the streetlight gave her some help as she observed him closely.

“Why are you smiling, there’s nothing funny”

“Shut up or do you want another round of spray in your eyes?” she asked as she let go of his face.

“Whatever, you’ll be fine you just need to rest your eyes and you should avoid rubbing the…..” she paused staring at him as he was already rubbing them.

“My goodness what did I just say?” she immediately slapped his hands away from his eyes

“Ouch”

“Good, now don’t rub them and go to the hospital if you still feel a burning sensation” she instructed.

“Hold on, are you a doctor?” He asked

“ And why should I answer any of your questions”

Clarissa had resumed her sitting position which she was before Gabriel had planned to ruin her morning.

“Hold on, you pepper sprayed me, the least you could do is say sorry”

“Sorry? You brought that up on yourself, now I’ll love it if you leave me alone and stop talking. I don’t want to be disturbed” she said about to plug back her ear pods.

“Come now that’s just rude, I’m still here. You should consider my feelings” he said trying to keep his eyes opened but she did not utter a word as she moved away from him before plugging them in.

Before he got the chance to say another word the bus arrived.

“Took it long enough” Clarissa voiced as she stood to her feet.

“Hey I don’t even know your name!” he called out as Clarissa carried her things onto the bus, she didn’t even turn to look at him nor the direction where the bus was headed.

She grabbed a seat before turning to the window to see him trying to tell her something but she didn’t pay attention as she thought it was one of his stupid questions again.

“She must be blind even I with my eyes hurting can see clearly but she can’t” Gabriel said as he watched it fade.
