CHAPTER ONE
Clang!
The sound of the gates closing was heard as a red-haired lady stepped out of the prison yard. She had a bright smile on her face as she walked out to get her things.
"I hope we don't see you again Leah."The man said, handing her her things as he smiled at her and she chuckled slightly before collecting her bag.
She stepped out to the parking lot where she had expected her boyfriend, Bruce, to be waiting for her but she was met by no one.
"Should I get you a taxi?" The worker who stopped next to her asked and she smiled at him before declining politely.
She turned on her phone and a slight smile crept up her lips as she looked at the wallpaper. It was the picture of her and Bruce on their two years anniversary date.
She hadn't used a phone in five years because of being stuck in prison after she was thrown there for no reason five years ago.
"Bruce." She said excitedly as the person she was calling answered the call. "You should be here by now. Have you forgotten I'll be getting out of prison today?"
"No babe, I didn't forget but something important came up so I couldn't be there yet and I don't know when I'll be back. Maybe you should take a taxi home." He said from the other end of the phone and her excited face turned to a sad one before she hummed and hung up.
"Leah." A familiar voice called her and she looked up to see her best friend, Mia leaning against her white sports car.
Mia was wearing a white suit with a jacket hung over her shoulders. She looked like a business woman with a bright smile on her lips.
"Mia." Leah rushed to her and pulled her into a hug. Mia rubbed her back gently as tears of joy rolled down their eyes.
"It's so good to finally see you out of prison. I've been waiting for this day for years." Mia sniffed as she wiped her tears.
"It's so good to see you and hug you. It's so good to finally get out of those prison clothes. Geez." Leah twirled and Mia chuckled.
"I didn't know you'd be coming to get me. I thought Bruce would." Leah sighed and the look on Mia's face changed and Leah could tell something was wrong.
"What's wrong? Did something happen to Bruce?" Leah asked.
"You look lean, Leah. Weren't you fed well in there?" Mia tried to change the topic.
"The food wasn't enough but I've gotten used to it. I can't wait to try homemade dishes." Leah smiled gently before returning to Bruce's topic.
"What about Bruce? You haven't told me about him." Leah said as she got into the car next to Mia who already rushed in.
"It's…"
"Don't tell me it's nothing because there clearly is something." Leah cut her off before she could say nothing was wrong.
"Well Leah, promise me you won't throw a tantrum if I tell you." Mia said as she rested her back and turning off the engine.
"I'm not like that anymore Mia. I'm no longer a kid." Leah sighed and Mia looked at her with doubt. "Trust me."
"Remember that lady you slapped back in the club that day and got you arrested for assault?" Mia asked and Leah rolled her eyes before nodding affirmatively.
"Bruce and her kinda dated after you left. They have been together since all these years and now they are getting married today. Bruce is at the wedding so he couldn't pick you up to continue you guys secretly dating or break up with you."
Everything seemed to crash around Leah immediately she heard everything Mia said. That couldn't be possible. She trusted Bruce. He would never do anything of such to her but Mia would never lie about something like that.
Mia seemed to understand what was going on in her head so she took her phone and showed the screen to Leah who looked at it. It was a picture of her boyfriend and a lady smiling beautifully as she looked up at Bruce.
Under the photo, a caption. "Soon to be newlyweds. Bruce and Nora."
Leah suddenly felt angry and she felt the urge to go over to him and beat the hell out of him. "Take me to him Mia."
"What did you say?" Mia asked her, shocked. "Don't tell me I heard you right Leah. Are you crazy? You want to wreck the wedding so you'll end up in jail for life?"
"I don't care." Leah frowned with her fists clenched.
"But Leah, this isn't right. There's nothing we can do about Nora getting married to Bruce. I'm not as influential as they are and your company has fallen." Mia said nervously and Leah glared at her which made her gulp.
"If it's about the influence, whatever." Leah took her phone out of her bag and dialed a number offhand and it rang for a few seconds before the receiver took the call.
"Yes. Right now." Leah said before hanging up. "Take me to Starlight Boutique please."
Mia obediently did as her friend asked before she threw a tantrum. Mia stayed in the car as Leah stepped into the boutique and got out after a few minutes.
She was dressed in a black shirt, white suit trousers, and its jacket hanging over her shoulders. She had dark shades on and her hair was combed to one side.
She looked like a badass CEO who was oozing out a very dangerous aura. "Please Mia, take me to the wedding venue."
"Why are you dressed like you're going to arrest them all?" Mia giggled and a wicked smirk formed on Leah's lips as she hummed.
"Let's see what will happen when we get there Mia," Leah said as she got into the car and Mia looked confused but entered the car anyway.
"Don't do anything crazy Leah." Mia sighed as she drove towards one of the well known hotels in the city. Dynamic Hotel.
The place had cars driving in and they parked the car far from the entrance looking at those entering the building.
"The wedding is being held on the ground floor. It's the one immediately you step in." Mia said and Leah hummed before getting out of the car.
Mia stepped down after her and they walked into the hotel. They could tell the party was going on in the large hall after the receptionist's office.
Leah showed the screen of her phone to the bodyguards and they let them enter. Mia looked at Leah shocked.
"How did you get the invitation?" She asked in a shocked tone.
"That's not for you to worry about Mia. Just watch and see the drama unfold." Leah said as she looked at Bruce and Noah standing on the stage and exchanging their vows.
"Do you, Nora, accept Bruce as your husband?"
"I do!" Nora replied.
"Do you, Bruce, accept Nora as your wife?"
"I do."
"Anyone against this marriage should speak up now or remain silent."
"I am against this marriage." Leah's voice spoke up and everyone looked in her direction. "I'm so against it."
The look on Leah’s face showed she was ready for action and she definitely was, she spent a year in prison cause she fought for her boyfriend who is now about to marry the fake bimbo she fought with, surely it wasn’t going to happen under her watch.
Leah walked forward as everyone looked at her in shock, she liked the attention she was getting now and the look on Bruce's face, nobody can play with her and get away with it.
And right now the two new couples will spend their honeymoon in prison.
