CHAPTER THREE
The world was shocked at Zayn's revelation. She was the boss of Red Phoenix?
How can she be the boos, the last thing everybody knew was that the family had died in a plane crash and now they was a boss from that family.
Red Phoenix was one of the most powerful mafia families in the whole city. After the past Boss died, no one ever heard from them.
Mia looked at her friend with a shocked expression. Leah turned to look at Nora and Bruce.
"So which one of you put me in prison again? Yeah, you." Leah said with a wicked smirk on.
The men on the aisle gave way as another man dressed in black stepped in. He had one of his hands in his pocket as he walked towards Leah.
"Welcome back Don. I was a few minutes behind schedule so I missed you when you got out of the station." He said with his head bowed.
Leah looked back at him and she saw the necklace around his neck, he must be the Declan Kyler said would pick her up.
"I don't appreciate being late Declan. Deal with them and ensure Mia gets home safely." Leah said as she walked out of the hall.
A long line of black cars with a phoenix logo on the doors were waiting for her already and one of the guards pulled open the door for her.
Leah stepped into the car and rested her back before they closed the door. The cars started moving one after the other and Mia who was watching them drive off was dumbfounded.
"Please tell me I'm dreaming," Mia said to one of the bodyguards but they didn't say anything to her.
The long line of cars drove to the northern part of the city where a large palace-like mansion sat proudly. As the car drove in, hundreds of men already lined by the driveway.
As Leah stepped out of the car, they all bowed and she waved at them gently. Just then, Declan's car drove into the compound.
"Welcome home Don. We thought we would never find you." Declan bowed to her as he got to the end of the stairs she was standing on.
"Men, welcome Don Leah. She is late Don King's lost daughter and will be the one in charge now, protect your boss at all means."
Leah herself looked shocked at the information and was about to ask Declan how they knew about it when all the men chorused. "Welcome home Don."
Leah forced a smile and the doors to the mansion were pulled open and she walked in. Maids were standing on each side of the red carpet leading to the closed door.
Behind the door, there was a picture of a man and a woman whom she recognized from seeing on the TV a few times when she was young.
Just like her, the man was red haired and he was sitting on that same throne with a woman sitting on the armrest, holding his hand.
"That's Don King, your father, and your mother, Quinn," Declan said and she looked at him.
"Why are you calling them my parents? My parents died before I was even one but I've seen them…"
"When you were born, you were taken, more like someone kidnapped you. They searched for you for years and finally were convinced that you were dead. Then few days before you went to prison, we found out about it." Declan gave her some papers of her DNA matching that of King and Quinn.
"We then asked Kyler to train you. He was close friends with your father…"
"Wait, you mean Kyler in prison?" Leah asked and Declan nodded.
"Yes, it is that Kyler. He and your father grew up together and he was your father's under boss. Few years after your parent's death, he was imprisoned." Declan explained and Leah looked shocked.
Kyler was the first person she met in the prison when she got there. He was a man in his mid-fifties when she got to the prison and he was quite protective of her and she didn't know why.
He trained her day and night on fighting and thought her how the illegal world operated. She didn't actually know why but she listened to all his teachings.
"Whenever you get hit, you get up back." Kyler yelled at Leah who was laying in the dust covered in bruises and blood.
"I'm getting… tired." Leah groaned but he didn't listen to anything. The men she was fighting charged at her and kept on hitting her and she tired her best to dodge all their attacks till she finally fell on the floor too tired to stand.
"Let her be." Kyler ordered the men and they bowed before walking away. How can a man in prison have so much authority that even the officers respected him
Kyler walked to her and picked her up and handed her a handkerchief to wipe the blood rolling out of her mouth.
"Change your clothes and come for lessons later." Kyler said before turning to leave.
"He was brutal." Leah whispered to Declan who chuckled.
"He is my father and I know him well. He trains you to the extreme level so fighting bad guys won't be a problem at all for you." Declan said and Leah turned to look at him in shock.
"He is your father?" Leah asked and Delcan hummed and then she started to recognize the resemblance between the duo.
"Although he didn't really train me much but he did till I was seven. By then I could beat up some guys here." Declan replied and Leah smiled gently before patting his back.
"I'll teach you all his techniques and you'll be my training partner." Leah said and he hummed before one of the maids walked in and offered to take her to her room.
The maid walked forward while Leah trailed behind her as she looked at the large training field through the glass walls in the passageway.
She already liked this place because it wasn't just big. I was unique and beautiful. The interior was white and gold with red rubies used to make different mosaic of Phoenix and other designs.
"This place is beautiful." Leah commended and the maid smiled as she heard her but didn't say a word, it seemed likt the people here were not the talking type.
"Ma'am, lunch will be ready in thirty minutes. Please freshen up and Sir Declan will lead you there." The maid said as she pulled the door to her room open.
