Chapter 4

"I would love to know when I am going, and how much is the deal," Olivia let out relaxing on the chair.

Mr. Braxton had a troubled look as he didn't seem to know how Olivia is going I take the news.

Clearing his throat, he prepared himself to tell her the truth.

"The three days are the twelve, thirteen, and fourteen of this month," he said.

The expression on Olivia's face hardened immediately as she couldn't believe her eyes.

"What? you don't mean, it, right? Are you both kidding me? meaning I'm left with barely a day to prepare myself for the trip? for Christ's sake, I am a human and not a robot," she said.

Jordan was scared that her anger might cause her to deny the contract so he decided to convince her as fast as he could.

"Wait, don't get mad because it is so prompt, look at the money he is ready to offer, Ashton is a millionaire, he will give you more than you bargained for," Jordan explained trying to persuade Olivia.

She didn't seem to be on the same accord but then, when she heard the amount for just a three days trip, she hopped on the idea.

"You aren't serious, are you? how come he is ready to give me ten million Francs, that's a lot," she said.

Jordan nodded his head in agreement with what she said. If a man could give that kind of money, that means he has a lot to throw through the window. But then, this was a private and personal show__it could be bargained or not.

Jordan had placed his cards already and was determined to convince her as soon as possible.

"I didn't tell you, Mr. Ashton is paying you a two-way ticket and offers to lodge you if that is okay with you,"

The first part was good but there was a string on the second part of his sentence. It is out of the question that Mr. Ashton lodges her. Besides, she would love to live in the best hotel in town, and eat in the best restaurants; it is best known that Lendamor had dishes inspired by the Italian taste.

'Sweet Lord! these are the only things that can make my stay in Lendamor a pleasant one,' she thought wriggling her nose.

It was not a bad idea, especially as she looked forward to her shopping rights, she deserves them so dearly.

"I think I'll accept only the two-way ticket, it wouldn't be a hard task to sort myself out. By the way, I hope you are going with me," Olivia asked raising a brow.

Mr. Braxton who didn't expect this question choked violently till Olivia had to pass him a bottle of distilled water which he had a long gulp from its content.

This is already a clear sign that the reply is going to be no. Jordan seemed a little stressed out as he looked at her with stunning eyes. He knew how to be dramatic.

Instead of him replying to the question being posed, it was Olivia who answered her question.

"It is evident that you aren't coming right? Why? can you tell me why you wouldn't be present when you are my manager?" She questioned starting to make a fuss.

This is not the first time that they both had such quarrels, but then it only meant that the manager wouldn't be present at the first half of the service, but will show up before the show comes to an end.

"This one is different, Sweet Olivia, and it is so easy so do not bother complicating things," he said.

The girl dug her nails in her palms as she restrained herself from swearing, it is aching to know that her life is like a string and the manager keeps pulling at to any

the direction he wishes her to go.

She released a sigh of resignation. Not that she was resigning from her job, but from the things that made her want to strangle Mr. Braxton so badly.

The only thing that kept consoling her is the fact that she needed some time with herself and while she is in Lendamor, she will enjoy that moment before it ends.

Standing, she straightened her skirt which seemed twisted right now. Staring at the hefty man that sat before her, she announced in a sweet voice,

"I thought I'll spend some time in the office but I don't think that will be necessary as I barely have a day to arrange the things I will be needing," Olivia explained.

Although she wasn't in accord at some point, she didn't make it a big deal especially as she is going to be paid and will have some bonuses attached to it at the end.

On the other hand, Braxton had a great smile as things seemed to finally smile his way at the end. He always had a way to wrap Olivia sadly around her tiny hand and causing her to obey him at any time. It is not a bad thing especially as they all have a fair part from whatever they receive with the bonuses being enjoyed by Olivia alone.

She couldn't boost her net worth, but she was enough to take proper care of herself which is why she doesn't bother too much, besides, working with Jordan for over fifteen years has given her the courage she needs to fight through life.

"We are business partners for life," Olivia always says when they interview her about her relationship with Jordan.

She walked her way through the office and when she touched the doorknob, she stopped when Braxton's baritone caught her attention.

"Don't forget, the plane departs at nine a.m prompt. Your ticket will be given to you at the airport. Please, be good okay?" he added assuring himself that everything is fine.

A bright smile flashed through Olivia's features as she nodded while answering playfully, "Yes Boss, a happy long weekend without me," she said playfully.

"Same to you," he said.

Although it was Tuesday, her sarcastic way to end the discussion only left Manager Braxton in awe.
