prologue
With the first ray of the morning, Ayzel went to his study. She has already packed her small luggage. This time she was determined to leave this place as soon as possible. Only she and her lord knew how she had spent the last night.
"I am leaving you, your job, and this place forever. There is my three-month salary which I am supposed to give on the sudden resignation."
Fortunately, Asma Khala and Aliya were not there. How would she tell them? And poor Burhan was also unaware that his sister is leaving this place forever.
"This is my last day of the job here. I never thought this would end like this." she wiped her tears and turned to leave. She was afraid that Zain would lock her here.
"you are right and wrong at the same time, Miss Ayzel." Zain's calm and dominant voice stopped her. She turned back to listen to him.
"This was supposed to be your last day of the job here. And in the end, you made it bad with your own decision." he paused and said some final words.
"Mark my words Miss Ayzel not every ending is an end. Sometimes the ending means a new beginning." His words made her shudder.
What is the meaning? She couldn't decipher the hidden storm beneath his calm face.
Ignoring him, she moved to exit. An eerie silence was prevailing in the mansion. The sound of air was prominent there. The mansion was weirdly more hollow and empty. She could not see anyone. When she reached the gate, surprisingly no guard was there either. What is the mystery behind it?
She was dragging her suitcase and aimlessly walking on the road. In anger, she left, but now she has no place to go. She tried to call Sameer, but his number was unavailable. Going back to the orphanage was not an option either.
She covered a distance of miles. Suddenly a van stopped her way. She was horrified now. A man came out, and before she could react, he sprayed something on her face and she fainted.
Poor,.helpless girl was abducted. But who was her enemy to do such a thing to her?
Slowly she gained consciousness. At first, she could not understand anything. She tried to move her limbs, but then a harsh reality hit her. Her limbs were bound. She bounded like an untamed animal through ropes on a chair. Dread and horror spread through her mind and body. She struggled but only to hurt herself.
The room was dark, only a single bulb was hanging on the ceiling above her, providing light.
"Help"
"Help"
"Is there someone?"
"Let me go!"
She was screaming for help. But no one came to save the innocent soul.
After some time, she saw a silhouette of a man coming in her direction.
Was he a foe or helper?
She struggled more.
But that sillhaute was of Zain. Now she can see him. A smile of hope came on her lips. Her heart rejoiced.
"Sir you came. Ya, Allah shukar (thanks). Sir, please untie me. I don't know who kidnapped me. Please help me, save me." she said frantically.
But Zain did not make a single move. He was keenly observing the show of her helplessness. His face was emotionless.
Stoic and stone face.
"Sir?" a lump formed in her throat.
And truth hit her like a force equal to a ship against an iceberg.
"So...it..is..you behind my kidnapping?" she merely whispered. She was praying that he would deny her blame. But a sudden dark smile on his face proved her right.
"So my bride-to-be is intelligent too. I am amazed," he said astonishingly.
"I can't believe you can go to this limit." she shook her head.
"Please Zain let me go. I beg you. For Allah's sake." this time she did not entitle him. She was crying.
"My dear squirrel. Do you know I always get What I want, either in an easy way or a hard. Last night I offered an easy way but you ruined it." he angrily placed his hands on the arms of the chair. She shrieked in horror. And then he stepped back.
"Let me tell you one thing about myself. You know as a husband and wife, you should know about me. Right wifey? I already told you how I get what I want. But do you know what I do when I don't get something?" he asked her. His face was getting darker and darker with every second.
" When I don't get a thing...I ruin it," he said and then started laughing maniacally.
"And believe me nobody wants a ruined girl."
And now she understood her life has ended. Her dreams are shattered.
"Think, my future wifey, if the news of you being a prisoner here spreads out. Nobody would accept you. This society will never accept you. And you know with which words society will call you."
And he did not need to explain this to her.
"I am not afraid of you. Do whatever you want. All my life I was not fed by this society. And I don't care about them."/She mustered up her courage. Zain was surprised too at her bravery.
"I was already expecting this drama from you." he faked a yawn and then continued. " But Azyel, think about the people who fed you. Your dear orphanage." now all her bravery was drained.
"At my one order, your poor old Mrs. Khan and those little orphan kids would be on the roads. Tsk. Tsk. And because of whom. YOU. ONLY YOU. Because their Ayzel Api (sister) , because of her silly mind, denied a powerful man."
"You won't do this." she tried to warn him.
"Oh yes I can do that, and I will do it. The decision is in your hands." she closed her eyes in defeat. The flow of tears was still pooling on her face.
"After one day I will come back to receive you, my life. Until then I hope sense will come into your mind."
He again came close to her. He removed her dupatta from her neck. Her breath got uneven. She thought of his dark intention.
But surprisingly he placed the dupatta on her head and spread it in bridal style.
"In simplicity your beauty is exotic. Don't know what you will do on our wedding day. Maybe I will become the first groom who would die on his wedding day by the killing beauty of her bride."He was not sounding like the earlier psychopath. His bipolarity made her think about how she would spend a single moment with him.
"Until then, take care of yourself. My sweet Squirrel." he went away whistling, leaving behind a numb Ayzel.
