CHAPTER 1: MY FIRST DAY
POV: ELIZABETH
I admired the streets of New York's upscale district through the car seat window as Mr. Richard drove in silence, my hands sweating with nervousness and the fear that everything would go wrong plaguing my soul. It was already my fifth job interview and I wasn't prepared for another no...
Mr. Richard is the Carter family chauffeur and an old friend of my family, he watched me grow up, he was my late father's best friend and, since my father died, he and his wife have been very supportive. He's the one who got me this job interview and, even if I don't get it, his help has made me happy!
(...)
Mr. Richard parked the car in front of a luxurious mansion like all the others in the neighborhood, and I was delighted because each one was more beautiful than the last.
We entered through the service area and I was even more impressed by the wealth of detail... everything was so, so perfect!
Outside, there is a beautiful swimming pool and a wonderful garden. Inside, everything is beautiful and elegant. And honestly, I'd never seen such luxury before.
Mrs. Megan Carter welcomed me without much enthusiasm, she is a very chic and well-groomed woman, tall, blonde, slim and blue-eyed, her hair is short and wavy. She is undoubtedly beautiful, but very thick, arrogant and snobbish. We immediately realize that money and beauty are not synonymous with education.
"Elizabeth, you're very young, do you have any experience with housework?" Mrs. Megan asks me with a look of contempt and I'm ashamed.
"Yes, I have... I used to accompany my mother on her cleaning jobs, and I always helped her with everything..." I say, looking at her seriously and she takes a deep breath, showing her dissatisfaction with every word.
"It doesn't make much difference to me what you did with your mother... what matters is how you perform your duties working for me," she says without looking at me.
She's completely cold, snobbish, barely looks at me and, when she does, expresses all her pride in her gaze. She talks to me looking at her hands and admiring her huge nails, which at that moment are more important than my insignificant presence. So I take a deep breath and try to give her the best possible answer. I'm in no position to give her the answer she deserves.
"If I get this job, I will fulfill all my duties to the best of my ability." I answer her seriously.
She remains silent for a few seconds, looking thoughtful, while my hands break out in a cold sweat, waiting apprehensively for an answer.
"Well, Elizabeth... I see you don't have any experience, but I urgently need a maid." She looked at me with disdain. "Then you can stay for a trial run. If your work is good, you'll stay. But, as I've already told you, the final word rests with my husband, who is traveling. " said Megan, expressing her pride in every word that came out of her mouth.
"Yes, ma'am... Thank you! "A shy, relieved smile formed on my lips.
"Don't thank me yet! Well, we don't have a cook or a housekeeper, just two cleaners who come at weekends to help clean the house. Even though it's a big house, we don't have a lot of work. It's just me and my husband, but we travel a lot. We don't spend much time at home. So you'll be the only maid responsible for everything, including our meals. Don't worry, you'll be very well rewarded for it. "
After talking and giving various orders, she sends me into the kitchen to prepare something. And I do! I'm very happy because I've finally got my first job. But I hope it works out, after all, it's still a test.
On the fridge door there was a list of the main meals in the house, the menu for the week and the times of all the meals, so far nothing too difficult, or out of this world, so I started preparing quickly.
(...)
After doing some chores around the house, I prepared dinner and went out to meet Mr. Richard to leave. He was washing his car and asked me to wait.
So, while I was waiting for him, I sat on the grass in the garden and stared at the pool, admiring the beauty of the roses, when someone touched my shoulder.
"Are you the new maid?" said a male voice as he approached.
Startled, I stood up quickly and looked at him: "Yes, sir, nice to meet you! I'm Elizabeth," I said, holding out my hand to shake.
He smiled and looked at my hand: "I'm just as much an employee as you are," he took my hand. "Satisfaction, I'm Dan, the house gardener. Satisfaction first, because pleasure always comes later," said Dan, looking me over from head to toe, and I could see the look in his eyes and his mischievous smile.
Dan is a handsome man, a little taller than me, and has a beautiful pair of green eyes that make him even more handsome and seductive. He has a brusque manner and I confess that I wondered what his caresses would be like.
I gave him a slight smile and we flirted. "I thought you were the boss. I said in a relaxed tone.
A shy smile formed on his lips and he looked me in the eye. "It'll be really nice to have someone else to talk to in this house. Especially at night." He said seriously.
"I can imagine how empty it must be here at night, but I'll only be working during the day."
"That's a shame," he lamented, looking at me. "But during the day I'll have company, it'll be less lonely."
"Have you been working here long?" I asked as I discreetly admired his beauty.
"About two years, give or take." He said thoughtfully.
"What are the bosses like?" I asked curiously, trying to find out more about the people who were now my bosses.
"I think you must have met Mrs. Megan, for her we only exist to serve her, Mr. Matthew is more pleasant, but he doesn't talk much," he said as he looked at me.
"I'll do my best to get used to the boss's ways," I replied with a shy smile.
We continued talking, but were soon interrupted by Mr. Richard, who said we could leave. I said goodbye to Dan and we left.
I got home, spoke to my mother, made dinner and had a shower. Then I went to bed. After all, it had been a tiring day, as I'd never worked before and it would take me a while to get used to it.
(...)
After getting ready for my second day at work, I waited for Mr. Richard in front of my house.
On the way, Mr. Richard told me that his boss had already arrived from his trip, as he had picked him up at the airport at dawn.
We arrived at the mansion, I changed my clothes and prepared breakfast following the instructions on the menu. Then the boss came downstairs and said she was going to wait for her husband so they could have breakfast together.
The boss is taking a while, so Mrs. Megan told me to call him in the guest room and I went. To do what? She's the boss! I just didn't know that a maid's job also included waking up the sleeping boss.
I reached the corridor leading to the guest room and saw that the door was ajar. Figuring that this was the room he was sleeping in, I knocked on the door carefully and, as he didn't answer, I decided to go in.
When I entered the room, I saw a man lying on his stomach, wearing only black boxer shorts, which would leave anyone senseless, or rather, imagining a thousand and one crazy things.
He has a broad, well-defined back, a shapely ass and thick thighs, everything I love in a man. I couldn't see his face, but his back and ass made me lose consciousness, and I decided to leave the room immediately and go into the living room, where I informed her that he was asleep. She then decided to have breakfast on her own. I served her and left!
A few minutes later, I came back and started cleaning up. Then I saw my new boss coming down the stairs, wearing only white shorts and no shirt.
Leaving his entire chest exposed, which is definitely a beautiful sight. With all due respect, a charming man! His slightly disheveled black hair made him even more charming. Without a doubt, Mrs. Megan is very well served!
"Good morning!" he looked at me seriously. Where's my wife?" asked Mr. Matthew in the husky, attractive voice of someone who had just woken up.
"Good morning, sir, Mrs. Megan left with a friend right after breakfast," I said seriously.
He took a deep breath and ran his hands through his slightly messy hair: "Good, then I can finally have my breakfast in peace."
