Chapter 5

"What's all the noise about?" At this moment, Darwin walked out of the office.

"Mr. Solomon!" Tony hurried over, pounding his chest in frustration, and explained the situation again.

Standing behind Darwin, Bella looked surprised. "Mr. Potter, Fiona might have just been momentarily distracted. Calm down, there will be other opportunities. It's not worth getting upset and harming your health!"

Fiona glanced at Bella, her face cold and intimidating. It seemed her earlier warning had been in vain.

"Miss Robbins, who are you accusing?" she asked sternly.

Bella said, "Fiona, you've misunderstood, I… Darwin…"

Darwin looked deeply at Fiona.

The fox that had pretended to be a harmless rabbit for five years had finally shown its true colors.

"It's okay," Darwin said calmly, as if comforting Bella.

Bella lowered her head in a grievance, looking very afraid of Fiona.

"Fiona, she can't accuse you, but I can, right?" Darwin said indifferently.

Fiona was taken aback, her eyes suddenly feeling a bit sore.

Darwin didn't trust her.

He pulled out a few data sheets from the file and placed them in front of Fiona. "Even if someone tampered with the data, the signature on these is yours, right?"

"Yes," Fiona responded.

"Then you can't escape responsibility," Darwin sentenced Fiona, "I'll give you three days to sort this out, or the company will follow procedures and report it to the police."

Fiona glanced at him, quickly suppressing the grievance that welled up inside her.

Darwin was always a vengeful person and wouldn't tolerate anyone defying him.

Fiona had voluntarily offered to leave and firmly rejected his attempts to make her stay.

But she didn't do it, and she definitely wouldn't take the blame.

"Fine," Fiona replied fearlessly.

Darwin became gloomy suddenly.

Fiona's stubborn and fearless demeanor inexplicably irritated him.

He said nothing and turned back to the office.

Bella glanced at Fiona with a victorious look and followed him into the office.

Soon, rumors of Fiona betraying the company spread.

Fiona didn't bother to explain much and took her computer to the company's library.

She had been involved in Tony's project plan from the beginning and had personally conducted the R&K needs assessment.

If there were no errors in the data, R&K would definitely adopt it.

Thalassa called immediately after hearing about it.

"We have to find out who did this!" She was furious. "I'll find someone to help you!"

"And then what?" Fiona asked.

"Clear your name, of course!" Thalassa replied, "And give them a good beating!"

"But the big deal is still lost," Fiona said solemnly, "So many people's hard work over the past six months, it's such a pity."

"Fiona, what are you thinking?" Thalassa asked.

"Not only do we need to catch the person responsible, but I also want to win this deal back!" Fiona said firmly.

"What can I do to help?" Thalassa asked decisively.

Fiona added, "There's a cruise party tomorrow night, and R&K's boss, William Newton, will be there. I'll optimize the plan tonight and take the new proposal to him."

"I'll handle the invitation for the party, but I've heard William is notoriously strict. Your proposal has already had one mistake..." Thalassa stopped there.

Her biological father died in a car accident when she was ten years old.

A few years later, her mother met a wealthy businessman and remarried.

That year, Thalassa also went abroad to study with the help of her stepfather. After returning from her studies, she often accompanied her parents to parties and had some understanding of important figures.

Fiona said, "How will we know if we don't try?"

Thalassa nodded. "Alright, I support you!"

"Once this is all over, I'll treat you to a big meal!" Fiona said with a smile.

"Absolutely!" Thalassa said excitedly, "By the way, you can't skimp on the dress for the party. I'll come pick you up later, and we'll go shopping! And remember, you're essentially a star, so stop with the two-faced act, okay?"

Fiona responded with a smile, "Okay."

She should indeed be herself.

Darwin, standing by the floor-to-ceiling window on the third floor of the library, was stung by Fiona's gentle smile, and a sudden anger flared up inside him.

She had never smiled at him like that.

Wyatt, standing nearby, could clearly feel the temperature drop a few degrees. He raised an eyebrow and glanced at Darwin. "Darwin, aren't you being a bit harsh about the sales department contract issue? You know Ms. Woods well. Such a careless mistake couldn't possibly be her doing."

"She insisted on leaving my protection," Darwin said coldly, looking at Fiona. "She deserves it."

Wyatt wanted to say more but held back.

At that moment, he saw Fiona smiling as she got into a black Mercedes on the roadside, looking as lively as a young girl.

Wyatt was stunned. He had never seen Fiona so animated. He looked at the car, then at Darwin's darkened face.

Darwin, with a frosty expression, turned and walked away.

The next evening, a luxurious cruise ship docked at the pier.

Various wealthy and powerful individuals, including some celebrities, were dressed to the nines and boarded the ship.

Fiona and Thalassa had already boarded.

However, they didn't have invitations; they had employee badges.

The party was so popular that anyone with some reputation wanted to attend.

Thalassa couldn't get the invitations, so they had to blend in as staff

Thalassa looked apologetic.

Fiona didn't mind, as long as she could get on the ship.

As the party started, she changed into her dress and climbed out of a low window.

She had just landed and put on her high heels when she heard laughter behind her.

She frowned, thinking how unlucky she was to be caught just as she came out.

Turning around, she saw a handsome mixed-race guy with adorable curly hair, holding a champagne glass and looking at her.

"Sir? Do you need help?" Fiona hesitated for a moment and then asked, bracing herself.

"You..." The mixed-race guy looked at the low window and then at Fiona.

Fiona was preparing to make up a lie.

However, the mixed-race guy said dreamily, "You're so beautiful, like a princess escaping from a fairy tale!"

Fiona was speechless.

She was wearing a golden mermaid strap dress, with her waist-length hair styled in big waves. Her skin was delicate, and with her naturally beautiful face and exquisite makeup, she looked stunning.

In the moonlight, at the moment she turned her head, the sea breeze tousled her long hair.

To the mixed-race guy, she looked breathtakingly beautiful.

"Sorry, I have something to do." Fiona didn't want to waste time and walked away.

"Wait, I don't even know your name!" The mixed-race guy snapped out of it and hurried to follow.
