Chapter 6 Willingly Fallen?

"Sorry, I have something to do. I'll listen to your fairy tale next time," Fiona said, no longer wanting to waste time, and walked away.

"Wait, I don't even know your name!" The young man snapped out of his daze and hurried to catch up.

At that moment, several security guards ran over from behind, seeing the young man and quickly loosening their steps. They took a deep breath and walked quickly toward him.

"Sir, the cocktail party has already started. Your parents are looking for you everywhere."

The handsome young man anxiously looked in the direction Fiona had left, about to chase after her.

"Hold up, I need to find someone." Before the handsome young man could finish speaking, several bodyguards exchanged glances and dragged him away.

Fiona was tall, slim, and curvaceous. Her naturally fair skin seemed to glow under the lights on the cruise ship. Just by standing there, she didn't need to do anything special to attract numerous gazes around.

"Who is she? I haven't seen her before."

"Is she a new rising star? You know, those women in the entertainment industry who have a bit of beauty, they would do anything to climb up to our aristocratic circle."

"Look at the way those men are staring at her, they must have already stripped her with their eyes."

"Maybe she's hoping for that?"

The elite women whispered to each other, covering their mouths as they laughed together, filled with disdain and malice.

Fiona grabbed a glass of champagne from a passing waiter's tray, ignoring the various gazes around her. Her heart was set on finding Newton. Her appearance only made those who were observing her more certain that she had wormed her way in to fish for a rich man.

Tonight's cocktail party was the 20th anniversary celebration of the renowned luxury brand, Armie Country. Prominent figures in Armie Country had all been invited, and everyone came to show their faces. Wyatt's parents were overseas for a project inspection and encountered some unexpected circumstances, so Wyatt became the representative in their absence.

"Darwin, you never used to bring Ms. Fiona to occasions like this." Wyatt, carefree as ever, sat on the makeshift sofa and glanced at Bella, who was taking photos everywhere. "She does look more like Lilian, but her personality... She's miles behind Ms. Fiona."

Darwin didn't even look at Bella.

"You've been mentioning Fiona a lot lately. Do you like her?" Wyatt's eyes sparkled as he stared at Darwin, asking.

Darwin raised his eyes and looked at Wyatt, his tone cold in a warning manner. "Don't test me."

"I’m sorry! I’m sorry!" Wyatt raised his hands in surrender.

Darwin had always been like this. When he got tired of something, whether it was his own possessions or not, he would smash it to pieces and wouldn't give it to anyone else. Unexpectedly, it seemed that he had the same attitude toward women.

"Mr. Darwin!"

At that moment, Bella rushed over in a panic. Wyatt clearly caught a hint of disgust on Darwin's face.

"Fiona! I saw Fiona!" Bella ran up, her voice urgent.

After a moment, Darwin, Bella, and the curious Wyatt stood by the mast, looking down. Fiona looked dazzling without even trying. In the crowd, she stood out at first glance.

Just as Darwin saw her, coincidentally, a portly middle-aged man stood in her way, trying to hand her a business card. Fiona didn't know what to say. Her stunning face was adorned with a faint smile.

Darwin's eyes were filled with darkness.

Seeing this, Bella hurriedly looked concerned and said, "Mr. Darwin, I just heard that Fiona is here to find a rich man."

Bella stomped her foot and murmured, "Even though Mr. Darwin doesn't want her anymore, he still gave her so much money over the years. Why would she come out so quickly to find someone else?"

"Bella, that's not fair. Even though Darwin has found you, don't you think Ms. Fiona deserve to find someone new?" Wyatt teased, one hand in his pocket, the other swinging a glass of red wine.

He smiled at Bella.

Although Wyatt appeared very kind and looking like a gentleman, Bella inexplicably felt a hint of unfriendliness.

"I'm just feeling sorry for Mr. Darwin." She leaned closer to Darwin.

"Don't pay attention to others, go and have fun." Darwin evaded without a word, avoiding Bella's hand trying to touch his arm.

Bella stiffened. Nodding with a sense of grievance, she said, "Got it."

Before leaving, Bella glanced at Fiona again. Fiona seemed so plain at the company, and Bella had seen her casual photos before. Ponytail, plain clothes. Compared to now, Fiona was completely transformed, a graceful and enchanting figure, like a different person. Bella clearly knew that compared to Fiona's allure, her own sweet and cute image was no match.

Fortunately, Darwin didn't like women who heavily applied make-up.

Bella withdrew her gaze. Thinking it over, she still felt dissatisfied with Fiona's dazzling presence. Suddenly, she thought of something, her eyes brightened, and she immediately walked downstairs.

As Bella left, Darwin and Wyatt saw Fiona accepting the business card and putting it into a delicate and exquisite handbag and the portly middle-aged man walked away.

From a distance, Darwin didn't notice that Fiona let out an imperceptible sigh of relief and surveyed her surroundings. Finally, she found her target for tonight.

Wyatt turned his gaze back and looked at Darwin.

"Mr. Darwin, all these years, you truly buried such a beauty."

Fiona used to be attractive but Wyatt always found her dull and lackluster, like an emotionless robot. No matter what Darwin did, Wyatt felt as if she never got angry. Wyatt remembered vividly that one year for Lilian's birthday, in the cold winter, Darwin went crazy and insisted on having a cake from a well-known bakery.

However, that bakery had long closed its doors. Fiona somehow managed to buy the cake Darwin wanted at three or four in the morning. However, when Darwin came back, he changed his mind and found the cake bothersome, so he simply threw it away.

Wyatt happened to be at Darwin's place that day. Fiona's hair was wet with snow, her slim figure trembling from the cold, and her hands pale from freezing. Wyatt thought Darwin had gone too far. Unexpectedly, Fiona didn't get angry nor did she show any signs of frustration. After tidying up the garbage bag that held the cake, she left Darwin's house and returned home.

There were many incidents like this. Looking at Fiona now, who could be described as a worldly beauty, Wyatt felt that things were becoming interesting.

"This is all on purpose," Darwin coldly uttered.
