Chapter 6 Call it a Truce

Logan had just reached the door when a series of heavy coughs came from inside the room.

"Cough, cough, cough..."

With Oliver pushing the door open, a pungent smell mixed with Oriental herbal medicine and disinfectant filled the air.

In this nearly one hundred square meters bedroom, various medical instruments were placed all around, and nurses wearing protective clothing and medical masks were constantly recording data from the instruments.

This scene was no less imposing than the intensive care unit of a hospital!

The emaciated old man lying on the bed had an oxygen mask on his head and various tubes inserted all over his body.

If it weren't for occasional coughs, anyone who came in would have thought that the old man had already passed away.

Upon entering the room, Logan frowned slightly.

The valuable medicinal herbs placed beside the old man's bed.

The priceless Cordyceps, casually piled up like garbage in the corner.

Ginseng, which is usually hard to find, was as common as cabbage.

The bundled stack is placed on the table.

Not counting those instruments, just these medicinal materials used to prolong Lord Thorne's life are already worth millions!

At this moment, a middle-aged doctor in a white coat walked over respectfully and said, "Mr. Thorne."

"Mr. D, this is Sir Claude."

"He is a renowned physician I specially hired from abroad."

"It is also thanks to him during this time, otherwise the old man would have..."

Oliver began to introduce, "Sir Claude, this is the Mr. D I mentioned, known as the Dragoctor in the medical world."

Logan simply nodded and then looked at Lord Thorne on the sickbed.

Claude immediately raised an eyebrow, feeling that this person was very impolite.

He had spent several years studying abroad and had more than twenty professional papers published in journals, possessing a wealth of clinical experience.

With such qualifications, any colleague who saw him would treat him with courtesy.

Logan appeared young, so why was he so disdainful of him?

A nameless anger suddenly burned in his heart, and he emphasized his voice, "Mr. Thorne, although I have been abroad for these years, I often communicate with colleagues in the industry, and I have never heard of someone called the Dragoctor."

In the medical field, qualifications have always been the basis for speaking.

As someone hired by House Thorne, it was impossible for Claude to be unreasonably overshadowed.

If this were to spread, wouldn't it become a subject of mockery?

"If you haven't heard of it, it can only mean that you haven't reached that level yet," Logan replied calmly.

Claude's eyes narrowed, ready to lose his temper.

Facing such a tense atmosphere, Oliver quickly changed the subject, "Sir Claude, how is Lord Thorne's condition now?"

"Lord Thorne's health hasn't improved much."

"But I use the specially-made Ten-Ginseng Decoction every day to nourish him, and it should sustain his life without much problem."

The medical staff ground several precious Oriental herbs, such as ginseng, winter grass, summer grass, and snow lotus angelica, into powder using instruments.

After filtering the powder, it was added to the protein solution and infused into Lord Thorne's body through an intravenous drip.

"Sir Claude, you truly deserve to be Mr. Montgomery's apprentice, as you have thought of combining ancient formulas with modern technology."

"Thanks to you, otherwise Lord Thorne probably wouldn't have made it to this point," Oliver couldn't help but say.

Claude felt triumphant in his heart, but he waved his hand.

"These are all my responsibilities. If it weren't for my admiration for Lord Thorne's character, I wouldn't have agreed to be a visiting physician at House Thorne for three months."

Then, he looked at Logan intentionally and said, "However, this young person who dares to call himself the Divine Healer must have some exceptional abilities."

"Can you handle it?" Although Claude spoke humbly, everyone present could sense the strong resentment in his words.

"Are you kidding me?" Logan shook his head.

"What did you say?"

"This so-called Ten-Ginseng Tablet of yours not only does not benefit the old man's health at all, but it will also deteriorate his condition even faster." Logan said coldly.

Upon hearing this, Claude's face immediately turned dark.

"You can eat a meal messily, but you can't speak nonsense!"

"If my Ten-Ginseng Tablet is ineffective, how could the old man have held on until now?"

Looking at Claude, who was speaking passionately, Logan casually said, "Your idea of combining Western and Eastern methods is not wrong, but the mistake lies in choosing the wrong subject."

"Whether it's ginseng, snow lotus, or even angelica as an auxiliary material, they are all tonics. Ordinary patients will be fine after taking them."

"But the old man's body is extremely weak right now, and these tonics are more poisonous to him than venom."

"Never push it too far, do you understand?"

Logan's voice was not loud, but with each word spoken, Claude's complexion became paler.

In the end, Claude's face had turned extremely pale.

"Claude, you have worked hard these days, go and rest."

"With Mr. D here, you don't need to worry."

Oliver shook his hand, and his previously gentle tone carried a hint of coldness.

Upon hearing Oliver's words, Claude's already pale complexion turned even more ashen.

Obviously, Lord Thorne of House Thorne highly agreed with Logan's words.

After thinking for a moment, Claude immediately bowed and said, "I was being audacious just now. I will entrust the task of treating the old man to Mr. D."

After speaking, Claude stepped aside.

He still felt somewhat unconvinced in his heart and wanted to see if this guy was really capable.

"Mr. D, please!" Oliver said respectfully.

Logan nodded and walked directly to the sickbed, carefully observing Lord Thorne.

Unlike everyone else's cautious approach, Logan's diagnosis was extremely relaxed. He casually felt the pulse and pressed a few times on the old man's body.

After a while, he stopped and began to contemplate with closed eyes.

"Mr. D, how confident are you in treating the old man's illness?" Oliver asked anxiously.

"Although the old man's condition is bad, fortunately, it hasn't reached the point where it's completely incurable."

"I'm 80% confident that I can cure him."

After regaining his composure, Logan slowly opened his eyes. His originally indifferent gaze became as sharp as a drawn blade!

"Good!"

Oliver was overjoyed, "With Mr. D's help, there is hope for Lord Thorne's recovery. Now I can finally get a good night's sleep!"

For the past year, he had been running around for Lord Thorne's sake, exhausting all his efforts, to the point where he couldn't sleep at night.

Once Logan opened the box, he solemnly opened the cloth bag inside. Inside the bag were eighteen silver needles of varying sizes. "Are these... acupuncture needles?"

Claude's expression changed slightly as he saw what was inside Logan's box. Although he was a returnee, his mentor was an ancient Oriental physician. He had some knowledge of acupuncture. As far as he knew, there were very few practitioners of the ancient acupuncture method in Drakoria.

Even if there were, they were all over fifty years old. Even if Logan had been studying medicine since birth, he wouldn't be able to master the art of acupuncture, right? How dare he use acupuncture to treat illnesses? Claude observed coldly from the side, wanting to see how Logan would actually treat the patient.

Logan picked up the silver needles and was about to start needling after a brief pause. Everyone held their breath and focused their attention. "Stop!" A cold shout came from outside the door.
