Chapter 2

Dawn turned back around and forgot she still had the necklace in her hand; a smile appeared on her face, and then Dawn had realized she did not get Logan anything; her smile began to faint away with sadness. Logan had noticed the look on Dawn's face and ask, “What the wrong baby?”

“You gave me this beautiful necklace, and I didn’t get you anything,” Dawn utters as a tear roll down from her eyes.

Logan got closer to Dawn, used both of his hands, and cupped her face, and he told her, “Baby, you already given me so much already, and that is your love and our son. Those are the gifts that I value and treasure, you two are the most important gifts to me, and I wouldn’t want anything else” Logan kissed Dawn again and embraced her with another hug. Dawn became happier, and once the hug broke, he took the necklace from Dawn's hand. “Turn around, so I can put this on you,” Logan instructed. Dawn nodded and turned around to lift her hair as he put the necklace on her. Once it was on, she turned back around and faced him. “It looks perfect he said.

Dawn utter, “Let eat before the food gets cold.”

Dawn grabbed the plates while Logan grabbed a picture of orange juice and cups. They headed to the dining room where William was sitting at the table; becoming impatient, Dawn placed the plate in front of William on the table. In contrast, Logan places the cups on the table started pouring juice into them. Logan put out the chair and directed Dawn to come over and have a seat. She sat down, and he pushed the chair up for her Dawn looked up at Logan and stated, “thank you.” “No problem love,” Logan said as he patted her on the lips.

“Ew gross,” William said, turning his head.

“William just waits till it’s time for you to meet your mate; you going to kiss on her, the same way I’m kissing your mom,” Logan implies.

“Daddy, girls are yucky; I won't be kissing none” Logan let out a big laugh and stated, “You say that now; just wait in about a few years or so your mind will change.”

William said, “Don’t bet on its daddy,”

Seeing them two going back and forth, Dawn grin at the fact that both father and son are having a debate on girls, that she enjoys the life that she has with both, but before she can go deep into her thoughts. Something broke her trance, it was the sound of shattered glass, they all looked shocked, and at each other, they all got up Logan went over to Dawn, and William was at, from there he instructed them “stay here, I’m about to go check it out,” Dawn nodded.

Logan had entered the living room. From there, he saw somebody had broken the window, and he observed the broken glass on the floor. As the investigation continued, Logan caught a scent, which got a little intense to the point that Phoenix was going nuts. The smell was familiar to Logan that he tried to remember; within a minute, it returned to him, and he and Phoenix said simultaneously, “It’s gas.”

Logan turned in the direction where he came from; before he could respond, he heard another window broke. And this time, it was a grenade that had come through the window; he ran while shouted to Dawn, “Baby, get out now” Dawn scooped William up and headed to the kitchen, towards the back door, and opened it, and out they went. The minute hit the ground, the loud sound of grenade went off, blowing up half of their house down.

When they got up off the ground and turned around before they could react, a few wolves headed in their direction. From the look of these wolves, they are rouges, and Aurora told Dawn, “Dawn, I sense a familiar scent, it’s someone closer to you they’re from your father pack, let Logan know.”

Dawn told Logan, “I believe my father sent these wolves to kill us.” Logan became furious that Phoenix had taken over; he looked at Dawn and said, “We have to get away.” Dawn nodded; they began heading in another direction in the woods, passing every big tree. Dawn's fear started to become tenser because she wanted to protect William at all causes. Dawn looked at Logan to see if he was back or if Phoenix was still there. Due to having alpha blood in her, Dawn has an extreme sense that she smells a wolf getting closer, and out of nowhere, a wolf comes from behind a tree, standing in front of them, and they stop in their tracks.

Logan grabs Dawn and William and puts them close behind him, and he turns to his side to know that Dawn can hear him. “Baby, I’m going need for you to take

William and run as fast as you can, don’t worry, I will catch up” Logan giving her a wink. Dawn gave him a nod, and she was about to prepare to run; before she could, more wolves came and surrounded them. Dawn looked around to see how many wolves there were; she counted six from where she was standing.

Three were all golden brown, one was black and white, and the other two were black. Looking at each wolf in their eyes, she can see the evilness that lies among them, and she knew they were out for war. She knew she and Logan could take them, but her main concern was William. William is just a child and has not shifted yet, his safety is the most important thing right now, and she was trying to pinpoint what Aurora told her. “Dawn, I’m ready; what's your plan?”

“The plan is to get William to a safe place,” Dawn replied.

Logan had shielded both Dawn and William cause he knew in a matter of minutes that the rouges were about to attack; he was trying to figure out a plan to get Dawn and William to safety. There were so many thoughts running into Logan's mind that he overlooked one of the wolves that charged at him by clawing at his right shoulder, taking him out of his trance which Logan shifted, and

Phoenix took over. Logan’s wolf was grey and white with deep dark blue eyes; Phoenix was more significant than the other wolf. The other wolf was one of the golden-brown ones with green eyes.

As the fight began, Logan took his paws and crawled the wolf dead in his face, which made the wolf cry out a little; as the wolf backed up, Logan went in for the kill and bit down on his stomach so deep that blood was gushing out. When the wolf howls, Logan tears him into pieces. Then two other wolves came running over with their vicious looks in their eyes. Logan mind linked Dawn telling her,

“Run, run as fastest you can.” Dawn saw an open spot; it was her chance to get away, and she took it. She had William in her arms and began running fast; before she got any further, she turned around to see the other five wolves surrounded Logan than the black one-headed straight to Logan left leg and bit down on it to the point that you could hear a bone crack, Logan howl a bit. Hearing that her mate is hurt, both Dawn and Aurora say simultaneously, “Oh hell no.”

Dawn looks around quickly to see where she can hide William, and she notices some big brushes with a big tree in the background. The bushes were so big that you could not tell if anyone was hiding in them. Dawn rapidly headed over to the brushes, and she put William down gently, and she told him, “Baby, hide here, don’t come till one of us, come get you no matter what.” Scare and shaking, William nodded and went into the brushes; once she knew that William was safe, she ran back to the area where Logan and the other wolves were fighting.

While running, Dawn shifted into Aurora; Logan fought off one of the black and white wolves with his teeth tug at the ear; the wolf was growling and trying to put back. The black wolf still had Phoenix's leg, and that when Aurora sprang into action with a surprise attack on the black wolf, she got on top of the wolf, and they both rolled into the grass; when they stopped, they got separated. Aurora and the other wolf had done a stare down, showing their teeth to one another. Aurora aims for the wolf's right arm, and which she bit down on it that made the wolf fall to the ground whimpering in pain as she cultivates him; with her sharp teeth, she had to drag him further away, and suddenly the wolf broke lose. Aurora wasted no time roaring at him; from the rage through her eyes. Aurora tackles the wolf to the ground and sinks her teeth into the wolf's throat; deep in the wolf's throat, he screams in agony as the blood splatter all over, including Aurora's face.

She turned around and saw that Phoenix had token down two wolves when which that only left two more. Aurora sprinted back into action and got one wolf from behind and ripped the head off, and once she dropped, Aurora strode over to the next wolf and crawled at its throat, and the wolf fell. Aurora looked over to where Phoenix was; she saw him standing up and, she noticed that he was limping with one of his legs. Aurora went over and approached him to see he was okay; Phoenix looked deep into Aurora's red eyes and went towards her face and gave her a nibble, showing that he was okay.

Aurora took her head and rubbed it towards Phoenix's face, and from there, Aurora headed to where William was, and Phoenix followed behind her; once they got to where William was, they shifted back to human form, at the same time which they both were completely naked. Dawn ran around to search for clothes immediately; she was able to find a man's long white tee shirt and some black jeans, she gave the jeans to Logan, and she put the shirt on. Logan was struggling a little bit, trying to lift his leg to get into the pant leg. “Here, let me help you,” Dawn said. As she walks over and grab the pants and kneel, she opens them up so that Logan can put his legs in. Logan lay his hands on Dawn, shoulders for assistance. And he lifted his left leg first and hurried up and placed it into the pants, and the other leg was easy to do.

Once they were covered, they went over to where William was. “William baby, it’s safe to come out now,” Dawn calls him. Less than a minute, William came out from the brushes; still a little frightened, he ran over to his parents, and they all embraced each other. The excitement was short-lived because when Dawn's senses were starting to take over, she looked over to Logan and stated, “More rouges are coming, and they are close.”

“Okay, let go,” Logan said.

The minute he got up and they were running, Dawn saw that Logan was trying his best to keep up; from the look of his wombs, the wolf got him good. Knowing the wolves are getting closer and closer. Dawn had to decide, a decision that she knew that an Alpha would make in this type of situation, and that was to fight.

“Logan takes William and gets out of here.”

“What about you?” Logan asks.

“I’m going to distract them, which will give you both enough time to get you and

William somewhere safe.”

“Hell no, are you crazy? I’m not leaving you here to fight alone.”

“You have no choice Logan, you wounded, and from that bite from your leg, you want to be able to survive another fight because they can smell the blood, and if I know these types of rouges, they are going to go for your weak spot. And I can’t have that,” she said.

“Dawn, I’m not going to let you do this, - Before he could say more, Dawn cut him off. “Look, Logan, it is not about you or me; it is about getting William to safety, so please stop arguing with me, okay. I have alpha blood in me, I’m strong, and I have to do this.” She said with tears flowing down her eyes. With that, Logan knew that there was no way to stop her when Dawn set her mind to do something. That was one of the reasons that he truly fell in love with her, Dawn never showed any fear, but most of all, she thought of others before herself. “Dawn, if you do this, you have to promise me you will catch up,” Logan stated.

“I promise, now go; we don’t have much time.” She places William into Logan's arm, and she kisses him, and she looks into Logan's eyes, and they kiss each other, and she pulls away from him. She shifted back into Aurora; from there, their eyes had locked, and she gave him a wink with one of her eyes. From there, she headed to the location of the rouges. Logan held William and started running while limping in the other direction; once running, he had to stop because his left leg was in so much pain, but he knew he had to keep going to protect William by keeping him out of harm's way. “I will protect him at all costs or die trying,” he thought.

As he was going further and further and out of nowhere, Logan heard a loud howl of a wolf cry out that had stopped him in his tracks. Both he and Phoenix were feeling the pain, and Phoenix was going crazy, telling Logan, “Our mates are hurting; go to them.” Logan gained up enough strength and started running back; even in pain, Logan tried to ignore it because the only thing that was his mind was Dawn. He minds link Dawn by saying, “Dawn baby, hold on, I’m coming.”
