Chapter 4

“You all did a good job today,” Catalina said while everybody was packing up and giving each high fives.

“Remember to be here tomorrow, 8 o’clock sharp,” Catalina stated. They all nodded before running off; once it was clear, Catalina headed over to where her parents were sitting, she sat between both. “Hey, what are you two talking about,” Catalina asks?

“We are talking about how good of a teacher that has become.” Her mother said, stroking her hair.

“Well, I have learned from the three best teachers ever,” Catalina stated.

That is good to know, Catalina I need for you to fill for your grandfather today and teach the teenagers the history of the pack. I know you know about that why.

I am trusting you with this,” William stated.

Catalina nodded; she knew all too well about the pack and what it stood for. The pack was called The Black Vendetta Pack, founded by her grandfather almost 40 years ago. With the help of two of his best friends, he started this with Alphas from another pack, which over time, they decided to emerge into a brotherly pack.

Making it the most extensive pack all over Michigan makes it unique that they accept all refugees such as omegas, rouges, and others looking for somewhere to belong without being judged on their past.

Logan had taught Catalina the same knowledge that he had taught William when he was a child, and that is “Judge no one on their past, lead them to a better future.” Catalina takes pride in the pack because she knows that one day she will be in charge, “Of course, dad, it will be an honor to teach young minds even doe I’m young myself, they need to know what our motto stands for,” Catalina implies.

“I’m so grateful; thank you baby, “William told her.

Catalina utters, “No need to thank my dad, we all got to do our part for the greater good.”

William spoke, “How did you become this good child?”

“She gets it from my side of the family,” Vanessa interrupted.

“Vanessa, don’t take all of the credit because you know me, and my father has some part in it. You see, she looks just like my mother.” William sighed.

“Is that where I got my hair color from?” Catalina asks.

“Since you were born with that color, I truly believe so,” William responded as he sat back thinking about this mother; he could only remember so little cause he was five when she passed. But one thing that he truly never forgets is the color of her hair. How white and beautiful it was, as the wind blew her hair in the wintertime with dark gray clouds, her hair was the light of the day, making her look like a beautiful goddess. The thought of thinking of his mother brought a tear to his eyes.

Both Vanessa and Catalina noticed the Alpha's pain, and they both consoled him. Catalina got up from the middle and went to sit on the other side, so William ended up in the middle. They each placed their arm around him; Vanessa spoke, “It’s okay William, you need to let it out.”

“Baby, it’s not so easy doing that, and also being an Alpha I can’t show a sign of weakness.”

Catalina spoke, “Dad, you are not weak; you are one of the strongest man that I know, and if you think for one minute that you are weak for crying, shame on you.”

“William, our daughter is right; you are not weak at all; your father raises you to become strong; you are kind and have a good heart, you put others before yourself and never ask for anything in return. And that is why I love you, not because the moon goddess put us together. It was your heart that led me to you, and every day I thank moon goddess for having you in my life and serving as your Luna,” Vanessa said.

William looks at his daughter and wife; he cannot help but smile as he embraces them with happiness. He feels lucky to have a lovely family that loves and adores him deep down in his heart. And no matter how hard it gets, sometimes he knows that he could depend on his family for support. While continuing to embrace, a male voice spoke, “Pardon me, Alpha, I don’t mean to interrupt but

Beta Taylor wants you.”

William smirked before reply “Jacob my boy, you don’t always have to address me as Alpha; you can call me William sometimes. Besides, I have known you since you were a baby. You know you are like a son to us, a son that we never had.”

It was true to the core that both Alpha and Luna wanted more children; during the time that Luna was pregnant with Catalina. She was experiencing complications, and after giving birth, the doctor confirmed that it would be hard for her to conceive another child, so they never tried again.

“Anyway, Jacob, I remember when you and Catalina were little, how you two always went poopy together,” Vanessa said.

“Mom, that is embarrassing,” Catalina said with a red face.

“But it’s true, this just tells us how time flies, and now you two had grown up and also you two are our future Alpha and Beta, this couldn’t get any better” Vanessa sighed.

William stated, “Just think Vanessa, these two made get married one day.”

“I don’t think so; dad me, and Jacob are just friends, that’s all.”

“Well, you never know Catalina, people start off being friends; that’s how your mother and I started. But it’s truly up to the moon goddess.” William told them.

Jacob looked at Catalina and gave her a wink, and from there, time seemed to go by real fast, and suddenly it dawns on to William what Jacob had told him. He stated, “Ok, it’s time for me to go, we have this meeting, so can’t be late. Catalina, remember you have the class to teach.”

“Yeah, you right will you come with me, Jacob?”

“Sure, I’m not doing anything I might as well sit in, and where you teach.” Jacob implicit”.

Catalina walks over to Jacob and gives him a light hit on the arm, and said, “Come on let’s go; I see you later mom, and dad.” Catalina spoke as they walked away.

“Later,” William and Vanessa said at the same time.

Vanessa saw she could not help but to smile as Catalina and Jacob kept on walking, William placed his arm around Vanessa shoulder, and he spoke, “My love, I truly see nothing but greatness in the both of them.”

Vanessa took another look at them once more and chuckled at William and, reply “I agree.”
