Chapter 1 The Jade Pendant.

Under the cover of night, at the upscale Windsor Entertainment Club.

Inside the VIP lounge, a slender and graceful young woman was lying in a double-sized bathtub, her face flushed.

Her breathing was deep and heavy, her body weak, and she felt feverish all over.

As she heard a voice, the young woman's eyelashes fluttered.

With her weak and limp hand, she picked up the phone, "Hello..."

"Lolita, did you even bother to cover for me properly?" Lilian shouted on the other end of the line, "I am the resident singer and model at Windsor. How could you go clean rooms instead and embarrass me?"

Lolita's head was throbbing, and she replied in discomfort, "Cleaning rooms is better than being taken advantage of..."

"So what if you're taken advantage of? You think I'm a rich girl like you. If you were a true friend, you would have covered for me properly!" Lilian exclaimed, "Windsor is a place frequented by wealthy people. If it weren't for a rich heir at the high school reunion tonight, I wouldn't have asked you to cover for me!"

After ending the call, Lolita sighed and her head started to spin even more intensely.

With her weak hand supporting herself on the edge of the bathtub, she stood up. She had been down with a cold for two days, and it seemed that she now had a fever. She fainted just now in the bathtub...

As she passed by the bed in the room, her head started to spin again, and her body felt light as she collapsed onto the bed.

Little did she know, there was already a guest staying in this room.

In the dim light, the man on the bed slowly opened his eyes and looked at the woman lying in his embrace.

A waitress?

Hans had consumed quite a bit of alcohol and furrowed his brows, "Leave."

Lolita's fever was causing her to feel unbearably hot, and she began to lose consciousness.

She tugged at her neckline, "So hot..."

A fragrant scent, reminiscent of a young girl, wafted over. Hans' eyes darkened. Was this woman trying to play with fire?!

Lolita murmured in her dream, "Dad, Mom, I know the company needs money... but I really can't..."

Money?

Hans narrowed his dark eyes. So that's it. Is she willing to sleep with a stranger for money?

But as the woman continued to lie next to him, he feared he wouldn't be able to resist. Hans pushed the woman away with a furrowed brow, "Leave quickly if you don't want trouble."

"Let's go," Lolita said.

With a light push from him, she rolled a complete circle!

Just as Lolita was about to fall off the bed, Hans quickly reached out and grabbed her arm, pulling her back.

The touch of the girl's skin on his fingertips was soft and smooth, causing his self-control to slowly crumble...

"Ah!"

Lolita woke up in the morning and was scared to the point of almost fainting.

She pushed the man's hand that was wrapped around her waist away and hurriedly looked for her clothes.

"It's over, it's over, it's over!!"

The clothes of the man on the bed and the woman's clothes were scattered on the floor vaguely.

The strange feeling on her body and the mess on the floor indicated that something had happened, even to her, who was inexperienced in such matters.

The room was dark, and she couldn't see the man's face on the bed clearly!

"Damn it!"

Lolita slapped him hard twice.

But Lolita didn't dare to make a scene because she had come to fill in for Lilian, so she endured the pain in her body and quickly rushed out of the room after putting her clothes on.

...

When Hans woke up, he found that the woman from last night had already left, and this was the first time in many years that he, who suffered from insomnia, had slept so deeply.

As he reminisced about last night, he noticed a jade pendant lying on the bedsheet beside him —

It was carved into the shape of a rose, delicate and beautiful!

Hans picked the jade pendant up, and his eyes abruptly narrowed. He dialed a number: "The woman from last night, did you arrange it?"

"The woman from last night?" Vincent was confused. "The manager said you locked the door as soon as you entered, otherwise, I would have arranged a beauty for you. Mr. Ford, as the richest man in the country, do you lack a woman by your side?"

Hans squinted his ink-black eyes; so, the woman from last night might not be connected to Windsor?

"What? Based on what you're saying, did you...?"

"Let's discuss business matters in a proper place from now on." Hans hung up the phone.

He clenched the jade pendant tightly, and a curve formed on the corners of his thin lips.

At this moment, his secretary called, "Mr. Ford, the meeting scheduled for ten o'clock is about to begin. Why haven't you arrived at the company yet?"

"Postpone it by half an hour."

Hans put his clothes on, picked up the jade pendant, and walked out of the room.

...

Fir City, the landmark building in the city center.

The K&G Group Building was playing a news segment about K&G's CEO, Hans: "In early April this year, according to the latest financial report in the country, K&G Group's CEO, Mr. Hans, once again topped this year's rich list with a personal wealth of 130 billion."

"However, at yesterday's new project launch event of K&G Group, Hans was still absent. The appearance and mystery of this richest man have aroused countless curiosity and discussions in the media. They are all vying for interviews!"

After the meeting, Hans stood tall in his 50th-floor CEO office, in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows. His long fingers held a glass of wine, seemingly ruling the world.

Behind him, his secretary, Brown.

According to the news report, "Mr. Ford, after Global Finance Advisory released its latest rich list, several media outlets want to interview you..."

Hans took the jade pendant out from the morning and pushed it forward, saying, "Set aside those plans, handle a personal matter for me."

Secretary Brown immediately closed his schedule and responded, "Yes, Mr. Ford, please go ahead!"

"Last night, I had too much to drink in Windsor and bumped into a woman. Room number 1, VIP. Find her," said Mr. Ford.

Secretary Brown was taken aback. Mr. Ford actually had an encounter with a woman?!

But he quickly realized and quickly asked, "Alright, should we give her some money?"

The reflection of Hans's stern face, like a godly dwelling, shone through the floor-to-ceiling windows. A smile formed at the corner of his lips as he said, "No, I plan to marry her."

Secretary Brown was shocked again.

The documents in his hand fell to the ground with a clatter. "Mr. Ford, did you say... you want to marry the woman from last night?"

Hans looked at the jade pendant in his hand, and for the first time, a warm smile appeared on his thin lips. "This belongs to her. I've been searching for this girl for many years."

The jade pendant was strung on a red thread.

Just like the matchmaking red string!

Only then did Secretary Brown understand that Hans knew this woman. He respectfully took the jade pendant and said, "Understood, Mr. Ford, rest assured, I'll handle it right away!"

At this moment, Hans's phone rang. It was a call from Mrs. Fu, the wife of the Fu family.

Secretary Brown couldn't help but sigh. As the richest man in the country, only Mrs. Fu dared to urge Mr. Ford to get married!

Hans picked the phone up and hung up casually, a wicked and cold smile appearing on his lips. "Want to see me get married? Fine, but I'll only marry the woman I want!"

Then he picked his suit jacket up, his tall figure leaving the office, with his secretary bowing respectfully and watching him leave.

Immediately after, Secretary Brown called Windsor Entertainment Club and asked, "Hello, can you tell me who the woman in room number 1 was last night? Please give me her name and address."

"Please wait a moment," the person on the other end of the phone said. "Hello, last night, one of our resident singers went in to help clean. Her name is Lilian..."
