Chapter 1 Blame Yourself for Loving the Wrong Person

Adeline Collins was pregnant. She happily walked home, holding the test result in her hand, contemplating how to surprise Jasper Foster. He had been on a business trip for over a month and would be home tomorrow.

When she entered the house, she noticed a pair of women's shoes in the hallway that didn't belong to her.

Adeline frowned. She recognized those shoes, as her sister Molly Collins had bought them not long ago.

But wasn't Molly supposed to be on the business trip with Jasper?

"Jasper, be gentle..."

Suddenly, a soft feminine voice came from upstairs.

This voice... it was her sister Molly's voice! Adeline bit her lip tightly, and her body staggered. Who could Molly's brother-in-law be other than her own husband, Jasper? Instinctively, she climbed up the stairs. The closer she got, the more pronounced the heavy breathing of the man and woman in the bedroom became.

"Jasper, what if my sister comes back later?" Molly's voice was alluring, while Jasper's voice was exceptionally cold and deep, "I don't care about her."

"Slow down... Jasper, she always wanted to have your child. Now that I'm the one who's pregnant with your child, how are you going to explain it to her?"

The man's voice remained cold, "I don't care about her."

Adeline's heart turned cold. After a while, she pulled her hand back from the doorknob, turned around, and left. She still didn't have the courage to face the scene inside the room.

What use would it be to open the door? It was well-known that Jasper despised her for this matter. She had disregarded everything and insisted on marrying him. In their two years of marriage, in order to conceive a child for Jasper, she had visited numerous hospitals and tried various medicines. And now, when she finally became pregnant with his child, he was being intimate with her half-sister in their bedroom. Molly was even pregnant, too.

Silently, tears streamed down Adeline's face as she walked out of the villa. It was raining heavily outside. Helplessly, she walked in the pouring rain, her ears filled with Molly and Jasper’s piercing words.

The intertwined sounds of whispers floated in the air.

No wonder Jasper wanted Molly to be his assistant and why he always took her along on business trips.

So they were involved all along...

Molly, standing by the bedroom window of the villa, neatly dressed, watched Adeline's figure with a sneer on her lips.

The heavy breathing Adeline heard just now was edited by her.

Jasper's voice was recorded.

She had long anticipated that Adeline didn't have the guts to come in.

"My wife is Adeline, have some self-respect. I have no intention of divorcing for several years."

The heartless voice of Jasper rejecting her echoed in her ears.

Molly sneered coldly, took out her phone, and dialed a number.

Unknowingly, Adeline found herself on the bridge in the pouring rain.

On this gloomy day, there were hardly any cars on the bridge.

Suddenly, a large truck raced in her direction!

Distraught, Adeline had no time to dodge.

"Bang!"

The impact sent her flying through the air, and she crash-landed heavily on the edge of the bridge.

She felt her internal organs shifting, blood streaming down from her head, staining her vision red.

In a hazy state, she saw someone getting out of the car and checking her breathing.

When the person confirmed that she was still alive, they made a call, "Mr. Foster, she's not dead. Should I hit her again?"

Adeline's heart throbbed with pain as if it had been run over by the truck itself.

The driver just asked for Mr. Foster.

In her entire life, she only knew one Mr. Foster, Jasper.

The man she once loved, who gave her everything beautiful and emotional, Jasper.

Was it because she had revealed his affair with Molly that he wanted to get rid of her?

To give Molly's unborn child a proper status?

But she also had his child in her womb...

"Don't blame me. Blame yourself for loving the wrong person!"

The driver hung up the phone and ruthlessly kicked Adeline's body with his leather shoe.

From where she landed, it was less than two meters from the edge of the bridge.

The driver, a strong adult man, kicked Adeline's broken body a few more times, and soon her body was hanging in mid-air.

"See you in the next life."

Adeline fell from the bridge.

At that moment of fading consciousness, she saw Jasper from under the cherry blossom tree of their youth.

He was still the young man in white, elegant and gentle as jade.

"Jasper, I hate you..."

Las Vegas.

A tall and imposing man with an air of nobility stepped out of the conference room, and his assistant hurriedly approached him.

"Mr. Foster!"

"Mr. Foster, madam is in trouble."

The man furrowed his brows slightly and continued walking forward without stopping, "What has she done this time?"

"Madam...she was hit by a car and thrown into the sea. They couldn't find her body."

The man's pupils suddenly contracted.

At that moment, Jasper's phone rang. It was a call from the hospital.

"Mr. Foster, madam didn't want me to tell you, but I thought you should be prepared."

"Madam is pregnant, already over three months..."

Six years later.

An international flight from Europe landed in Denver.

Adeline walked out of the security gate, dragging her luggage.

Six years ago, she was called Adeline. After experiencing death once, she abandoned her original surname and changed her name to Adeline Wilson.

Her chestnut hair fell casually, and she wore a bright red shirt and a black coat, giving her a cold yet mysterious appearance.

Behind her, there were two children, both wearing matching black coats and dragging identical suitcases. One was a boy and the one was a girl.

Although these two little ones appeared to be only around five or six years old, their aura was so noble and aloof that people dared not approach them.

"Adeline!"

Violet, who had been waiting at the exit, waved and greeted her, "Over here!"

Violet Wood was a well-known plastic surgeon in Denver. Five years ago, she had the opportunity to participate in Adeline's plastic surgery during her studies in Europe, and they gradually became best friends.

Now that Adeline had returned to Denver, of course, Violet had to come and greet her.

The woman rushed over, eagerly pulling the suitcase from Adeline's hand, "I've prepared the house for you. Let's go now!"

"Thank you."

Adeline smiled faintly and turned to introduce, "Bennett, Lauren, this is Auntie Violet."

"Hello, Auntie!" Lauren sweetly blew a kiss to Violet, "Please take care of us in the future!"

Bennett glanced at Violet indifferently, "Auntie, don't you have a boyfriend yet?"

Violet paused, "How did you know?"

The little guy shrugged, walked up, snatched the suitcase from Violet's hand, and dragged both suitcases, one large and one small, forward, "Women who do too much physical work will have a hard time finding a husband."

Adeline helplessly stepped in to mediate, "He may have a sharp tongue, but he's not really bad-hearted. He just said that because he's worried about you getting tired."

Violet rolled her eyes, "That's about right."

Afterwards, she linked her arm with Adeline's, "Why did you suddenly decide to come back?"

"And you only brought Bennett and Lauren. Where's Blake?"
