CHAPTER 23
**Xavier pov
I was glad that I was talking to Lily she was someone I could talk to but what I couldn't decipher was the fact that I didn't know much about her but I was conversing with her like we've known each other. We only met on rare occasions when we're little. Her father was my father's friend, she dated Viktor in the past when they were little.
"That was how I banished her from the lands for the crimes that she committed" She hissed at my words.
"You didn't even care if she loved you genuinely you just acted right so that the council would be proud that they have a leader, it's sad you know that right, behaving in this manner. Now you're stuck with that lady that's also competing for the place in your heart" She uttered as she stared at me for a while.
"I'm not getting married to her"
"I need your opinion on what transpired today at the castle" I uttered as she sat beside me.
I walked in on Amelia saying these words earlier today,
"You have three days..." I couldn't hear the rest of what Amelia was saying but I could tell that she was warning Sir Rome, wondering if she wasn't even thinking of what she was doing, behaving like someone who's drunk.
"Three days for what?" I was a bit surprised when I walked into Sir Rome's office, he seemed a bit tensed over something that I couldn't decipher.
"Oh Alpha Xavier you're here" Amelia uttered as she jumped on my body and kissed me so bad that I felt like she was going to make me fall off my feet.
"What was that for?" I asked as I wiped her wet lips off my lips, she cared less about what I did which was weird.
"Just felt like doing this and that's because I've missed you" she stuttered as she giggled afterwards.
"Well respect the fact that the head of council is here" I uttered as she stared at Sir Rome in the manner that a dominant woman would to her partner and this gave me goosebumps but I disregarded it, knowing that they must have been joking with each other which can lead to this attitude.
"Come on Xavier you have the right to do anything anywhere, you're the Alpha" Sir Rome, chuckled wearing a smile on his face, I had double feelings about Amelia's visit to this office
"You see he's cool with it and I'm cool with it, well I'll leave you both to discuss... Thanks for the advise Sir Rome," she chuckles as she blows a kiss to me, I hissed as soon as she turned to Sir Rome who stuttered,
"I would be expecting some feedback"
"The feelings are the same" She walked out of the room like someone that had won a lottery.
"What's wrong with her? I guess she doesn't know I'm not settling down with her" I uttered as I filled my cup with wine, I knew this was really what I wanted at this point due to the fact that I was tired and stressed.
"Why would you say such she's a nice girl" I was shocked at his words, the wine in my mouth couldn't even pass through my throat, I spat it out.
"That thing, she's disillusional and I can't get married to her, she's just there for my pleasure and nothing more" I growled wondering if he was joking with his words or he was just saying it to know my reactions.
"That's shrewd" he retorted, as I examined his behavior, understanding the fact that he was really serious with his words and this baffled me to a point that I felt like I was on the edge.
"What are you saying Sir Rome, I thought we're way past over this, you said I can get married to anyone my heart wills" I stuttered as he wore a smile on his face.
"Well that was before I even discussed with her, I've come to realize that she's changed and would make a good wife and fit into the position of Luna in this great kingdom" I couldn't believe his words, I knew something was wrong, it's either she had bewitched her.
"Something's not right and I can feel it" I could feel it within my spines that something was wrong, he looked a bit scared and confused at this point.
"What are you saying?" He stutters,
"This isn't you" I uttered as I stood up from the seat so I could instill some sense into his head, knowing that he had the power to decide who I was to marry but this wasn't what I wanted.
"You were the one that rejected her in the first place saying I can't get married to a woman who's been banished before and this wasn't what I expected from you"
"Time changes so do we, at first I hated her but I've grown to to like her and I've seen that she's worthy of being by your side when you sit on the throne"
"This is bullshit, I'll see to the end of this" and that was how I stormed out of his office, since then I've been trying to understand what she implied.
(PRESENT)
We both sighed as the silence crept between us, I was a bit tensed and confused.
"I don't want to say much but I would say that something's wrong it's either he's getting blackmailed or there's something off about his sudden change of heart" Her words were true.
"What can be the cause of his blackmail?" I inquired wondering if she would have an idea and her words sparkled a bright idea in my head.
"A threat to his position"
"What do I do?"
"Remove him as the head of council and you'll see the truth would reveal itself, he would come begging that you should get married to Amelia like his life depends on it and then you'll get to know what changed his mind" she divulged, she was right which was exactly what I was going to do but I couldn't deny the fact that she wanted to leave.
"Are you leaving?" I inquired as she checked the leaves few meters from where we sat.
"Yes I have a sick mother who needs my assistance" she sighed,
"Here you go" I was a bit surprised when Damien gave some leaves. She was excited that it was the leaves that she was searching for all over the forest.
"This would help your mother" he divulged wondering if he was trying to get her by helping her.
"You don't know how long I've been searching for these leaves, how did you find it?"
"It's there, it's all over there once you get to that place you'll get the leaves incase these ones aren't enough" Damien divulged, pointing to the direction, I guess this was his way of saying I like you but I guess he doesn't know that I have my eyes set on Lily. She's mine and no one would take her away from me, I was the cause that separated her and Viktor, it wouldn't be hard to do it again.
"We're about leaving as well" I uttered wondering why she even cared less about me.
"I'll appreciate him for his gestures" she stuttered as she pushed me aside and hugged Damien so softly, it felt like this was what she was waiting for, it felt like she was talking to me while admiring Damien because he was seated a bit close to where we sat.
"Thank you so much I'll see you around" she utters as she whistled, calling her horse.
"Why did you do that?" I uttered as he acted strange to my words.
"What did I do?" he retorted as we got on our horses and rode back to the castle.
"Why did you give her those leaves?" I sighed,
"She needed them" he stuttered,
"Are you thinking of having her?" I hissed as I gulped down a cup of uncut wine.
"Who wouldn't like a beautiful girl of her nature she's very pretty, I wish I could call her mine if I had the chance" he uttered,
"You would be sorry if I see you four feet close to her" I punched him hard as he sprawled on the floor.
"I did nothing to upset you and you punched me hard on my face" he stutters as blood drooled off the left side of his mouth.
"She's mine" I growled,
"You have Amelia" he stutters,
"I don't have anyone, she's nothing to me never forget that" I had to make it clear to him that Amelia was nothing to me.
"She loves you so much"
"I don't want Amelia she's just there to satisfy my cock" I growled as I cared less about the servants watching.
"Come on Lily is an old friend of yours you had nothing intimate with her, Amelia was gone and came back because of the love that she had for you" he still had the nerves to talk.
"I don't need her love, it's Lilly or no one " I growled,
"If I don't have her no one would" I growled as I turned my face, staring at Amelia standing two feet away from me with tears running down her cheeks.
"Arrrrrrrgh"
