6. WELCOME TO THE WEST

JAYDA

I bowed respectfully before moving any further.

Alpha Greyson eyes stationed on me as I sauntered nervously, behind me was Daemon and by my right was his beta, Axel.

It has been twenty years since my father died, twenty years ago I was here with my father, sitting at this throne room.

Everytime I meet a familiar face in the west, I begin to pray silently that none of them recognizes me although I did not spend much time in the west.

I was always with my mother in the east but I could not forget the flashbacks that haunted me.

In my flashbacks I could see Alpha Greyson, with all humility and loyalty, taking orders from my father.

I am not certain that he had a hand in my father's death but I know that my father would have been alive today if his beta was watchful over him, if his beta did not sit there and let them kill his Alpha.

The throne room had massive pillars soared towards a vaulted ceiling.

Three elders sat at the smaller thrones, side by side with the Alpha King's throne.

"Is that your father? The Alpha king?" I whispered to Daemon as my eyes were stationed on the man in the middle.

"Yes, he has been infected too, he is part of the people you have to heal" Daemon replied with a whisper as we approached further.

"And the other elders?" I inquired.

"They are well to do, you just need to heal my father"

"Father! This is Luna Jayda. She is a healer from the bloodhound pack, the best healer out there" Daemon introduced as he stepped forward.

"The best out there? You have said the same thing many times, what difference is she?" I heard his pale deep sounding voice.

"Father, she has healed many villages of this same sickness, I have seen her heal and I must say, she is very powerful, more powerful than the healers I brought here" Daemon defended, earning a convincing nod from Alpha Greyson.

"Are you sure she is capable of healing us? We can not keep running around in circles, healed today, sick tomorrow"

"I promise you, she is different" Daemon defended again.

"You are welcome healer Jayda, the fate of the crystal pack and the entire west lies in your hands, I trust my son's decision so I believe you are capable" He turned to me and said.

"Yes your majesty, I will do whatever it takes to heal your people" I bowed whilst speaking.

"Thank you for helping us" He offered a smile and I reciprocated but deep down, I was disturbed, my father should be on that throne.

I should not be helping this pack, after all they have done to my family. I am the only last surviving child of my family, princess of the crystal pack of the west but I am been introduced as a mere healer to the pack.

I am only doing this because of my compassionate personality, I do no like to see people suffer, especially children, women and old people.

From what I could, the scorpion poison was still fresh in Alpha Greyson, he didn't seem to have tohe pale facial features, swollen red eyes, dehydrated face and a lean body.

"We will make an appointment later, for now, my people needs you more" He said and I bowed.

Daemon and Axel lead me out of the massive room, my wolf kept feeding me with aversive thoughts.

"You also have the ability to multiply the venom caused by the sickness, if you do that to Alpha Greyson he will die faster. For him to be on your father's throne, this means he killed your father"

I shunned my wolf and shrugged the thoughts off, that would be very evil, besides I do not know if he really has a hand in my father's death. I can not just go around killing people because I think they all have a hand.

I am still very surprised that Alpha Greyson was not able to recognize me, even Daemon does not recognize me, although Daemon was barely in the pack. He stayed more with his grandparents.

I only saw him once or twice when I was younger and I only lived in the west for some weeks before my father decided to separate us to keep us safe from harm.

He knew deep down that his pack and the entire west was angry at him and that is why he took us back to the west to protect our family.

If we all stayed together in his mansion, we would have been all burned to death.

A knock on the door caught my attention, I jerked up in fear and kept my eyes on the door. It was past midnight, who could be knocking on my door this late?

My wolf instincts kicked in immediately, someone probably knows I am Alpha Tristan's daughter and they are here to kill me like they did to my mother.

Asides been a healer, I learned how to fight in the bloodhound pack because I wanted to protect myself from harm.

Carefully, I opened the door to meet the cold blue gaze of Daemon glaring at me intently, his shadow towered over mine at the door.

A maniac smile appeared on his face as he walked past me and got into the room.

"Are you always like that? Ready to fight?"He mocked with a smirky expression on his face.

"You came in here past midnight and you expect me to be calmer?"

He kept mute, stood to his feet and slowly walked up to me, again, his body completely shadowed mine while I sat, amused and frozen.

"Pretty luna's are usually calm, aren't they?" He asked, his face at close proximity to mine, his alluring eyes made me loose my breathe.

Somehow I forgot how to, it was like the air completely left my lungs.

I was dumbfounded, lost in the moment.

"Are you just going to stare at me? Or you are going to say something?" He questioned cheekily.

I threw my gaze elsewhere and finally the words rolled out of my mouth "Why are you here by this time?"

"I came to say Hi and spend time with you" His eyes squinted as he spoke.

"Spend time with me? I should be sleeping and so should you" I replied, walking towards the bed when he held me firmly by the arm.

Again, my breathe seized. Why does this keep happening when he does things suddenly?

I slowly turned to him with a confused expression.

"Let me sleep with you tonight" The words rolled out of his mouth.

What?!
