Chapter 2
Sitara
Finally I'm done with college, done with dorms and canteen food. I can't wait to be back home with my parents and start my career.
I'm almost finished packing when I hear the footsteps of my friends approaching, Kyle, my blonde hair friend with black eyes and a checky smile. I could hear his heavy feet shaping against the floor.
Mariah, my brunette haired friend with Grey eyes and sparkling white teeth in her ballerina flats, takes light steps.
I could also hear her squealing, and I could sense her big bold smile. It's weird that I could hear and sense these things, especially since I have no wolf.
My wolf never came, I didn't hear her nor did she communicate, my father said it must have something to do with an accident I had during my childhood.
Nevertheless, I still make the most out of it.
Knock!
The door opens, and I can't help but smile at their smiles, I haven't seen them both in so long. By long, I mean a couple of months.
They are both older than me, so they finished college a year before me. They used to come check on me every day, but as their roles in the pack became more demanding, I saw less of them.
'Let's get out of these prison walls and go grab a bite.’
Kyle said, grabbing two boxes and heading towards the door.
“Yeah come on, I'm hungry.”
“You're always hungry.”
Both Kyle and I say nsync.
“How about we drop off these boxes at home first, and then we go get that bite?”
“Sounds good to me, mom and dad should be home by now.”
“SItara.”
I heard a voice calling out to me as we walked through the parking lot, I turned around to see Kelly running in my direction.
“Hey what's up.”
“Nothing much. I just came to tell you goodbye. It was nice meeting you. Hopefully, we meet again one day.”
“Hopefully.”
Kelly is one of the girls I became friends with after Kyle and Mariah left. She is one of the kindest girls I've ever met after Mariah and my mother.
“When we meet again, I will be a luna.”
“Really, you found your mate. Ohh Kelly, that's awesome. I'm so happy for you.”
“Thank you, look out for an invite to the wedding.”
“Will do.”
I hurry back over to Kyle and Mariah.
The trip home wasn't a long one, not when you are excited to return to the place you grew up. As we approach the pack grounds, I see warriors training, the young she wolves doing their morning runs.
Alpha Tristan helping his drunk brother into the Alphas house ,ohh how things never change.
I didn't wait for the car to come to a stop as we approached the front of my home, I pooped the door open and ran straight inside.
“Surprise.”
My body froze as mom jumped from behind the couch along with dad and some of my friends who I grew up with at the orphanage.
“What, how did you do it?”
“Congrats Sitara on completing your degree.”
“Thank you.”
“Awww honey, you're finally home. It's been so long.”
My mother embraced me with a bug hug before dad dragged me from her arms and into his
The day went by pretty great. After the party was over, I spent the rest of the night watching movies with mom and dad.
A loud knock woke me from my slumber, it's my mom.
“Sitara, don't forget the meeting with the Alphas.”
‘Shit’
I jump from my bed, rush to the bathroom, and then hurry some clothes onto my body. After putting my shoes on, I grab my bag and head for the door.
Dad was already standing there with two slices of toast and a mug filled with hot chocolate tea.
“Thanks dad.”
With that, I ran across the field towards the pack house where the Alphas office is located.
“Sitara.”
Gamma Tia called to me as she saw me rushing through the front door and heading in the direction of the stairwell.
“Yeah.”
“They aren't here yet, so you're on time. Have a seat in the waiting area. My knees shake with nervousness, so I sip the hot chocolate to see if it would help.
Before graduating, I applied to work at the packs hospital, but they had no space, so I applied elsewhere.
Which isn't a problem, the problem is I didn't inform my protectors. Alpha Travis and Tristan, that's what got me into trouble.
“Sitara they are ready for you.”
"Have a seat, Tristan pointed at the seat in front of him."
“I believe you know why you're here.”
“Yes, and I would like to apologize for not informing you before I went ahead and applied elsewhere.”
“You do know why it's considered wrong to not inform your Alphas."
“Yes, it's because you both have to insure the members of your pack's safety. This means you would have to check the institution to make sure it's safe for me.”
“Correct.”
“So have they responded to you yet?”
Travis asked.
“Not yet, hopefully by Wednesday.”
“Do you have your heart set on going there?”
“Not really, I just want to get out there and help as many people as I can.”
“So what would you say if I told you we have an opening at the packs hospital and the spot could be yours.”
“Really.”
“Yes really.”
“Then I will take it, thank you.”
I couldn't hold back the smile that spread across my face. They just made me so happy.
“You are to report to work bright and early on Monday. Don't let us regret this.”
“I wouldn't, thank you.”
“Alphas, your next meeting will begin in ten minutes. Alpha Kane is already outside.”
“Thanks, Sitara, that's all, and we hope to see you at the Ball tomorrow night.”
I nod my reply as I turn towards the door, bumping into a large man . He stretched his hand towards me, catching me before I felt. A strange feeling washed over me, and my eyes snapped shut. All I could see was a green field filled with blood.
people screaming and crying, then a splash of water followed by black.
“Are you OK, young one?”
His voice is rough and hunting. It leaves chills running through my insides.
“Yeah, yeah, I'm fine.”
I pull my hand from his.
“Such pretty eyes, I have never seen anything like it.”
“I'm blind in the left.”
I respond and leave the office.
