Chapter 6
Tristan
Alpha Tony is heartbroken, I could sense his pain, I know that pain. That's why I hate that ratchet bond. The pain it leaves behind is horrible.
Keshia, my ex, the stealer. She was the love of my life and I hers or so I thought.
It turned out that she just loved the attention and money I generated.
At that time, my dad was still very active in his role, and well, Travis had already started following in dad's footsteps.
So I continued living, and I was a well-known street boxer. Me along with a group of people would box for fun with a little cash involved.
And Keshia loved the attention and the fast money. Life was going great up until that last match. See, I'd suffer many blows to the head and decided to take a step back.
But Tyler, a well-known boxer as well, challenged me to a match I denied, but later Keshia told me I shouldn't back down.
That I was being a wimp cowardly amounts to other things. so I accepted the match and began to train. When the day had finally arrived, everyone came out to support as that would be the final one.
When that bell rang, both Tyler and I put our best foot forward, but mine was the best. I knocked Tyler out, winning the title of best street fighter in Florida.
After the fight, I returned to the locker room to get changed. Everything happened so fast that by the time I threw my shirt over my head, I was on the floor.
Luckily, my brother could feel when something was wrong. He found me on the floor unconscious.
When I woke up four months later I was in the hospital, he told me that my brain started swelling and to save me the doctors had to put me in a medical coma and I could possibly lose my memory.
Depression hit me hard that day, and the only person I wanted more than anything wasn't around. I would spend weeks asking my brother for her, but he never once answered.
Then one day he bought me a brown envelope, inside the envelope there were pictures of Keshia and Troy about town.
When I was finally out of the hospital, I went to see her. My eyes couldn't believe what they saw. Keshia and Troy are making out.
My eyes never laid eyes on another woman in an affectionate way. I couldn't take the pain of another heartbreak.
And that's why I have to break it off with Sitara.
“Alpha Tristan, it's nice of you to stop by.”
“Alpha Tony, I hope you are holding yourself together for the sake of your pack.”
“I am trying my best, I'm assuming you're here because you didn't hear from me. Well that's because we hadn't found anything. It's like she 's gone without a trace.”
“And no one at the college saw anything.”
“No, they saw her left and got on a bus headed into town.”
“That's definitely odd. Maybe we should alert the others to be in the lookout and change up some rules.”
“ That's a good idea. How's your mate, by the way.”
“She is fine,I guess.”
“You haven't accepted her, have you.”
“Not planning to.”
“Hmmm.”
“What's Hmm about?”
“I know what happened in your past damaged you, but don't you think you are being a little too hard on yourself? It was not your fault she turned out the way she did.”
“Yeah but it was my fault for not seeing her true colors sooner than later. So before I fall for that trap once again, it's better I take another route.”
“Listen to me, everything in this life happens for a reason, the reason we may never know. One thing I do know is this, having a second chance mate is rare, so don't mess it up.”
After leaving Alpha Tony's pack, I headed to a little restaurant near town. The most I could do is buy her something for all this trouble I most have caused her.
Nobody should have to go through the feeling of not knowing what's next.
While standing in the line to cash for the meal, I got the feeling of uneasiness, my heart pounding, breathing shaking, and palms sweating.
Then it hit me. That wasn't me, so it has to be.
“Mate is in trouble.”
My wolf said.
I didn't think I jumped in the car and drove past the speed limit. As I approached the south side of the pack grounds, I saw madness there was blood everywhere.
Pack warriors were being taken in the hospital, and my heart began pumping in my chest. She wasn't there.
“Breath Tristan, she is still alive. I picked up her scent.”
“Take me to her.” Razor rushed in her direction.
I bolt past my brother and headed in her direction, I had one objective, and that was to make sure she stayed alive.
Travis left for our parents at the airport while I stayed behind. Her parents aren't home, and both her friends are downstairs waiting for her to wake up.
The room is filled with her sweet scent, making it hard to concentrate on anything.
“She is beautiful, isn't she?”
Razor asked.
“never said she wasn't.”
I scan her from afar.
“ Did you think about it if you want us to keep her?”
“keep her. She's not a pet.”
“you know what I mean.”
“I haven't.”
“you know I want this. You know the bond is special to us. Give her a chance.”
“I'm not sure I could.”
Splash!!
The plastic cup with water falls to the floor, and she bolts from the bed, her eyes half awake. She looks at the floor then at me.
“Where, where am i?”
“You're at the pack house.”
“The wolf, the wolf that was chasing me?”
“Dead.”
A sigh of relief left her mouth as she looked around.
“It's best I leave.”
“Not yet, sit catch yourself first.”
“Ohhh. Ok”
She sits at the edge of the bed with her hands on her lap.
“So, I remember you wanted to speak to me. Do you want to get it over with now or..”
She stands and looks me in the eyes, her black and silver pupils piercing something deep into my heart.
“Ahhh.. hmm, hmm.”
“ I know you want to reject me…”
“I accept you as my mate Sitara.”
“Huh….”
“ I said I accept you as my mate.”
“Really ?”
“Yes.. I didn't want to, but my wolf treasures the mate bond, and for his sake, I'm willing to give it another try.”
“Ohh.. ok.”
“What is that not good enough for you?”
She just stares at me with this blank expression.
“Why…”
A knock on the door stops her from finishing her sentence.
“Alpha, Sitaras parents are here. They would like to take her home.”
“Tell them she would be…”
“Bye.”
She just left
“Could you have possibly been much harsher than you were.”
Razor asked.
“I was just telling her the truth.”
“What is that not good enough for you? Uhhh, you upset me, you know that.”
“You never forget to tell me.”
“And I never will.”
He blocks me out for the rest of the night.
