Chapter 6
Seth POV
This call was from Wesley, and it could be said that it was quite unfortunate. I have to admit that my feelings towards Lorena have changed. I really want to be close to her, and when I look at her, I can't help but want to touch her more.
And the act of forcing her with my own wolf, I still regret it. Perhaps at the time, I just wanted to consider the big picture. Despite my best efforts to control my own wolf, it seems that I have had a significant impact on her.
I want to say more to excuse my behavior. I can't say if it's hypocritical or cowardly, or if I can't give a reasonable explanation for my actions. I told Lorena about my mother's unhealable wound left by her distance from my father, I know her mother is also very important to her, I hope to gain her understanding.
I thought my thoughts about her would be much greater than hers, until I clearly felt the restlessness of her wolf from Lorena. The scent of roses with a hint of urgency rushed straight to my brain, and I had to struggle to control Adam to prevent my behavior from spiraling out of control. But I have to admit that my reason is about to run out.
"Seth, are you with Lorena? I have something urgent here." Wesley's voice came through the receiver, with a background of obvious noise and faint music.
"Talk." I struggled to keep my annoyance in check.
"Nola came looking for us to drink, she's had a lot, we couldn't stop her."
"What?"
"She said something about a broken heart and insisted we join her, I'm afraid she's going to get into trouble if she keeps drinking like this, do you want to come over?"
"Okay." I agreed without hesitation, then regretted it as soon as I spoke. I hung up the phone and looked at Lorena, who was currently curled up on the couch, looking very fragile. And yet, I was about to leave her here.
"We're not leaving here!" Adam protested angrily.
"No, we'll be back soon," I soothed Adam in my mind, then bid farewell to Lorena, who still looked a bit confused, and drove to the address Wesley had given me.
This was a bar, and I was familiar with it. The bar looked brightly lit at the moment, but it was clearly being used for a private event, with only a few figures visible inside. I pushed open the door and went in.
"Look who's here!" A flirtatious voice rang out, and I looked ahead to see Wesley and a few familiar faces. The voice that sounded flippant was Shawn Ortiz, I remembered, and he was the owner of this bar. The Ortiz family was one of the prominent families in my pack, and Shawn was one of my childhood playmates who was also set to take over as the leader of the Ortiz pack. To his left sat Wesley, my Beta, and to his right Erik Morris, another one of my playmates who had taken over as the Alpha of the Full Moon pack. I had also heard of his twin brother Ronald, who was said to have mated with Lorena's sister.
Nola was sitting at the far end of the table, smiling at me with no trace of drunkenness on her face.
"Nola said she wanted to see you no matter what, and I had no choice but to come up with this plan," Shawn's expression held a hint of malice, which made me uneasy. I moved past him and looked at Wesley, "You agreed to this?"
Wesley gave me a apologetic expression, and I tried to suppress my annoyance as I looked at the person who had orchestrated everything, Nola.
"Nola, so you went to all this trouble of calling me out, for what?"
"Seth, don't be angry, it was my idea. After all, we haven't seen each other in ages," Nola suddenly put on a pitiful expression.
"We saw each other yesterday," I coldly interrupted her.
"I know, but we haven't sat down and properly talked since you got your mate, and I miss you," she said. Nola displayed a pitiful expression, as if trying to use this method to make me stay. My wolf snarled at her,“Don't play this trick ever again!”
I looked around the table, picked up an empty glass, and then picked up the red wine on the table and filled it halfway before drinking it in one gulp. "Don't play such childish tricks next time, my time is limited." I admit that I said this with some anger, and I couldn't understand Nola's behavior and actions. All I wanted at the moment was to run home and see the person I wanted to see.
I crept back home quietly, walked into my room, and saw Lorena curled up in the blankets, sleeping soundly. I couldn't help but walk over to her quietly, lie down beside her, and wrap her in my arms. For some reason, the anger and frustration in my heart disappeared in that moment.
It wasn't until the next morning when she woke up that she jumped away from me like she had been shocked. That's when I was awakened by her actions.
"I... I'll go downstairs for breakfast!" Lorena's face was red as if it had been cooked, and even this made me think she was adorable.
After changing clothes, I went downstairs for breakfast. I saw Lorena sitting straight at the table, with the redness still on her face. I found it even funnier, so I purposely walked over and sat next to her.
"Take Lorena and move out after breakfast," my father said before I could say anything.
"No need," I replied. I hadn't even had a chance to speak when Lorena quickly gave a negative answer, "But I can move out."
I didn't know what to say at the moment, just as a familiar voice came from the doorway, "Seth, I'll drive you."
A tall figure walked in from outside, the person was wearing a light blue denim shirt and white casual pants, with his hands in their pockets, handsome beyond compare, it was my beta, Wesley.
He rarely came to my house in the morning, usually he would go directly to the company to find me. He didn't seem to have any apology for last night's event today.
"It's you," Lorena saw him and was surprised.
Wesley also immediately responded to Lorena, a gentle smile appeared on his handsome face, "Yes, I came to pick Seth up for work. He drank a lot last night because of Nola's little prank."
"Mate doesn't look at us, she likes Beta, us, sad." Adam's tone was somewhat resentful.
I coughed heavily, but Lorena seemed to ignore me, continuing to laugh and chat with Wesley. I pulled on my tie, my usual good manners suddenly made me feel like I wanted to drag Wesley out and beat him up.
"Wesley, have you had breakfast yet?"
"No."
"Why don't you have some?" Lorena began to invite, "Seth's breakfast is pretty good."
"Eat what? Come with me, I have something to say to you." I finally couldn't hold back and pulled Wesley out the door. I dragged him all the way to the yard before letting go.
"What? I came over just to pick you up for breakfast. That's too much," Wesley said as he looked at me.
I snorted, "What was your purpose today, coming over specially?"
"Come on, last night's thing was my fault. I'm here to apologize," Wesley smiled. "Don't say anything, with a cute girl like Lorena at home, I would want to come back too."
My face turned completely black, "Wesley, it seems you're attracted to her beauty and have lost your mind. I'm warning you, she's my mate." I felt a strong sense of being offended.
"Don't be angry," Wesley smiled, patting my shoulder with a knowing expression. "You see, I'm here to prove that you really like her."
But this only made my irritation grow.
"Shut up. From now on, stay away from Lorena,"
