Chapter 3
Lorena POV
After having dinner, I went upstairs to take a shower. As I was carrying my clothes to the bathroom, Seth walked in and frowned, "I don't like other people using my bathroom."
Thank you for not directly expressing your disgust towards me.
I puffed my cheeks and angrily glared at the man behind me.
"I have a germaphobia," Seth added.
"Fine."
I nodded, realizing that I also have a germaphobia now. Who cares about using it anyway?
But with his personality, even if he rejects me in the future, no woman would be able to tolerate him.
"I didn't want to argue with him, so I took my clothes and went to shower in the shared bathroom on the second floor. When I came back, Seth had finished showering too.
The man in front of me was wearing a navy blue pajama, sitting at the desk working. His skin was pale, and the collar of his pajama was casually open, revealing his delicate collarbone and alluring neck. Even though I despised him, I had to admit that this man had the most noble temperament I had ever seen.
I walked over and silently packed up my computer and textbooks that had been pushed aside.
Seth suddenly glanced at me sideways, "Where's the sofa in my room?"
"Oh, King had it moved out, so I wouldn't have to sleep on the sofa at night," I replied dismissively.
Seth froze for a moment, then his gaze shifted to the only large bed in the bedroom, and his handsome face became serious.
"Well then, you sleep on the floor at night, and I'll take the bed."
I didn't argue with him either, and it just so happened that I didn't want to sleep in a stranger's bed. "Well, then you'll have to give me a backrest and a blanket. I can't just lie on the floor."
Seth said indifferently, "That's your own problem."
That dismissive tone instantly chilled my heart. I had no idea where the cushion and blanket were. I was already tired today and didn't want to conflict with Seth.
But the more I retreated, the more I received Seth's indifferent attitude instead of his compromises and cooperation. I gave him a deep look and turned to walk towards the bathroom.
Suppressing my anger, I filled a basin with water and walked towards the bed. Seth seemed to realize something and quickly came over, grabbing my arm with a cold face, questioning, "Lorena, what are you doing?"
"I'm going to pour water on your bed. Since I can't sleep, you shouldn't expect to sleep well either."
Seth was taken aback and then warned sternly, "Do you dare?"
"What do I not dare?" I coldly stared back at him. "Seth, I've tolerated you for long enough. You wanted me to show a cooperative attitude, and I did, but what about you?"
"You have cleanliness issues and won't let me shower in the bathroom. I went outside to shower, and you took the bed. I didn't argue with you. I just asked you to get a cushion and blanket. You know very well how you treated me.
Seth is much taller than me, so I have to look up at him. It's been quite a while since I've been talking, and I can feel my neck getting a little sore. But the emotional distress is even worse than the physical discomfort.
"It's just a blanket, why don't you go outside and get it yourself?"
"I'm not familiar with this house at all, how would I know where things are?" I said angrily. "Seth, let me reiterate, we are in a partnership, and you are a businessman. Do you treat your business partners the same way you treat me? If you don't respect me, I won't respect you either."
As I said that, I started walking towards the bed.
"No, you can't go." Seth grabbed my other arm as well.
I tried to break free from him, and we started pushing and shoving each other. As it turns out, men are stronger, and the water in the basin poured onto my chest.
The air suddenly became quiet. Seth looked down at me, and I looked down at myself. I had just finished showering, and my freshly changed thin pajamas were already soaked, with my chest being particularly unpleasant to look at. The color of my bra inside was clearly visible.
Seth's gaze deepened.
"What are you looking at?" I felt my face burning, partly from anger and partly from embarrassment, as Seth stared at my chest. I don't know why, but my brain malfunctioned for a moment, and I acted boldly. I grabbed the remaining half-pot of water and poured it all over Seth's lower body. The water splashed onto the wooden floor.
Seth looked at his own miserable lower half, his handsome face turning as dark as a storm approaching. "LO-RE-NA!"
He gritted his teeth, his eyes filled with such hatred that it almost felt like he wanted to kill me on the spot.
"What are you looking at? It's only fair." I instinctively gathered my courage, straightening my posture. The damp skin beneath my wet pajamas trembled.
Seth clenched his fists tightly, angrily walking towards the door. However, when he reached the door and realized his soaked pants, he grumbled and went back to the changing room to change clothes before slamming the door shut.
He left, and strangely enough, I felt relieved. I guess Seth, who was so angry, probably won't come back. After mopping the floor, I decided to move the mattress and blankets from the bed onto the floor.
As for that bed, I have no interest in lying on it anymore.
It's 10 PM now.
I checked the time and realized it's already this late, Seth probably slept outside. Well, someone as wealthy as him probably has plenty of houses to stay in. Who knows, he might be having a great time right now.
I put down my book, went downstairs to pour warm water, and prepared to go upstairs to sleep. Suddenly, I heard the sound of a car outside.
I don't know if it's Seth coming back or the Ruby couple, but I really don't want to deal with it anymore. Planning to hurry upstairs, I suddenly heard a familiar man's voice from outside.
"Seth, the young master, got drunk and I brought him back." Immediately, the door was pushed open and a young man, dressed in a deep green velvet shirt and with a handsome appearance, helped the tall Seth into the house. I stood on the stairs, holding a cup of water and looked down carefully. The newcomer seemed familiar, as if I had seen him before, Wesley.
I was planning to quietly leave, but at that moment, Wesley caught sight of me looking down from the stairs. "Lorena, come and help me."
I really didn't want to get involved, but I had no choice but to reluctantly walk over. Wesley smiled at me, signaling a greeting. I could only awkwardly nod in response.
"Long time no see," I nodded towards Wesley, "I'll show you the way, I definitely can't help with carrying him."
"Okay, no problem," Wesley understood very well and he seemed very familiar with the place. He asked me to walk in front while he supported the heavily drunk Seth.
I quickly walked up the stairs and opened Seth's bedroom door. As soon as Wesley arrived at the doorway, he couldn't help but burst into laughter.
I followed his gaze and saw the empty bed, devoid of pillows and sheets. There was a mattress on the floor a few meters away.
It was quite amusing. But this was a special situation.
"Where should I put Seth?" Wesley asked tentatively.
"I'll sleep on the floor, you can put him on the bed," I casually waved my hand.
Wesley was dumbfounded, "But there's nothing on the bed."
"If there's nothing, then there's nothing," I said nonchalantly, "He said he likes sleeping on a hard mattress."
Wesley didn't ask any further questions, and with a knowing expression, he placed Seth on the bed and left. I looked at the man lying on the bed with nothing and couldn't bear it, so I rummaged through the wardrobe and found a blanket to cover him. Then I returned to my own mattress on the floor and peacefully fell asleep.
