Time to Hustle
"Young man, do you know how strange you are?" the old man couldn't keep himself calm again. After all this was just too shocking. How can someone who is not an awakened have that kind of physical ability. Everyone needs to awaken to have powers. Mages awaken mana, warriors awaken qi.
"Strange? What do you mean strange? Is there something wrong with me or my stats data?" Alex asked, perplexed about why the old man's attitude suddenly shifted.
"Yeah, do you know how weird you are?" asked the old man while closing on on Alex. He had his eyes locked on him as if he didn't want him to disappear.
Alex moved a few steps backwards until his back hit the door. He then asked,"Wh-what do you mean by weird?"
"Your physical ability is more than that of a person who hasn't awakened yet. Can you tell me why that's so?" asked the old man while squinting his eyes at Alex.
"Well, I have been training for the past three and a half months," replied Alex after a hint of hesitation.
"Ooh, training, huh? Well, just forget it. You can leave. Take your badge in the next room on your right. But before you go, ensure that all the data you don't want anyone to see is concealed. You can conceal it by just a thought and reveal it with a thought." the old man said before returning to his seat.
"Thank you sir," Alex said before leaving the room. He went to the next room on his right. He looked at the card then hid all his physical stats as well as skills leaving behind only the name, age, badge level and job spaces. He then entered the room where after giving out his card, he was given a copper badge which he imprinted it with a drop of his blood.
Dropping to the ground floor then leaving the guild hall, Alex went back to Pilmals inn where he decided to rest well. After all, he was going to enter the dungeon the following day and he didn't want to see accidents happening. After dinner and freshening, he dived into slumber land.
Just after he fell asleep, the dagger once again got out of his backpack. The dazzling pale blue light then moved and then entered Alex's body. As more of the energy in the dagger was being transferred into Alex, the shine on the dagger kept going dim. After only a flicker of light on the dagger remained, it floated back into the backpack and the light dimmed off completely.
Morning came and Alex woke up with a bright smile. After all, he was feeling that his body was full of energy and so he just needed to find something to dispose it to. Alex himself wondered why he had just so much energy. But eventually, he dismissed it off as the result of good sleep.
After breakfast, Alex took his backpack and emptied it. He put his clothes in the closet ensuring that the backpack had sufficient space to carry the cores. After all he needed cash to stay here and thus he needed to hustle. Taking the only weapon he had, he went downstairs and left the inn.
Strolling down the street heading west of the town where the dungeon was located, Alex began preparing his mind for the battle he's going to face. It took him about Forty minutes to reach the dungeon. The dungeon was busy as usual. Groups here and there or individuals getting in and out.
Ignoring all the glances he was receiving, Alex headed directly towards the teleportation stone. There was a line as usual but it wasn't long. When it was his turn, he placed his hand on the stone holding in place for a few seconds before he was covered in a pink light and was teleported into the first floor's safe area.
After getting there, Alex took a deep breath before walking towards the door that led towards where he could fight monsters. Placing his hand on the door, he waited for a few seconds before he was teleported into the room. Bad luck as always, he was again in front of the dungeon monster. This time, it was a goblin.
Green skin, long sharp nose, bald head, crooked teeth, no clothing apart from the loin clothe. In its hand was a giant mace. Right after it spotted Alex, it rushed forth and swung its mace downwards aiming to bash Alex's head in.
Alex responded quickly. He leaned backwards escaping the mace by hair's breadth. The goblin lost its balance from the momentum and stumbled forward. Alex clenched his fist and swung it directly into the goblin's face. Being a bloodthirsty monster, the goblin had no intelligence of when to retreat but the instinct of attacking what's in front of it, ready to devour it.
BANG!
The punch successfully landed on the face launching the goblin backwards toward the wall. After a few seconds, it tried to stand only to fall again. Alex was himself was stunned by his strength. After all, since his last fight, he couldn't remember having the ability to render a rank 1 monster powerless with one punch.
He decided that he was going to finish off the monster before him and then check his status after. He strode towards the struggling goblin and used the dagger to slash at its throat killing it after a few seconds. Light then covered the goblin before it dimmed leaving behind a core.
Alex could only say that he had a regular pattern of bad and good luck respectively. After all, bad luck always finds him first. He took the core and then shoved it in his backpack before removing the card that he had been given the previous day at the guild. The following details were displayed;

Upon seeing his stats, Alex was startled completely. This was incredulous after all. Just yesterday he was having stats that were far lower as compared to what he had. He now had a job and his physical abilities had increased by at least nine points.
This was indeed incredulous! How capable was he? he had strength compared to a rank 2 middle stage warrior. What else could be said? The complicated means of obtaining money had now been lowered by a great margin. He would now just use the dungeon as a source of income and a training ground.
Alex then decided to proceed to the next stage. Two rank 1 martial monsters. When he entered, this time he was lucky that he got teleported some distance away from the two monsters. This was why dungeons were called dangerous places. After all who knew where he or she would be teleported to once they enter the dungeon?
Without wasting time, he unleashed the light steps technique to arrive in front of one of the monsters, a goblin. He then used the dagger to stab the goblin on the side of its head instantly killing it. The reaction speed of the goblin couldn't compare to Alex's improved speed.
Up next, he the struck the next goblin that was now preparing to descend its mace. He struck it in the location of the heart also instantly killing it. Light enveloped the two goblin bodies leaving behind two items. A core and a pill which Alex immediately recognized as the healing pill. Since he was going to move further, he needed this pill Incase of emergency.
Though the pill wasn't that formidable as compared to the one he was given by Simon, Alex couldn't help but feel overjoyed that he could finally have something to reverse the situation in case he was injured.
It was finally time to exploit one's own limits!
