Using Sword Intent

The air trembled as if to acknowledge the coming of something extraordinary. The air around Alex distorted and began moving erratically as if there was someone cutting through it. The slime that was busy staring at Alex with disdain became alert to the sudden changes and stopped spitting the gooey liquid.

Alex's eyes sho e as he finally opened his eyelids and he stared at the slime. The swords in his hands also trembled. The slime felt as if its skin was being cut apart by a sharp blade. This made it to take a few steps back for the first time since it appeared. It could finally feel danger emitted from Alex who was currently staring at it.

Alex watched as the slime retreated a few meters behind. Alex knew that he couldn't maintain this for long thus he immediately utilized all of the remaining mana to activate his lightning steps movement technique and charged at the slime. His swords that were covered in sword intent gave out a very sharp feeling that could cut through anything.

The slime didn't have a high reaction speed and was also moving in fear and thus its reaction to Alex's sudden attack was late. Alex's sword cut through the body of the slime as Alex used the swirling wind technique first step. He vertically cut the slime into two pieces. Then, the second step followed and the sword pierced between the eyebrows of the slime. Finally, he used the third step where with the intent covered sword, he made a three hundred and sixty degree turn and slashed the slime horizontally.

After that, he paused his movements and turned to look at the slime that had yet to move. Seeing that Alex was just a few steps from it, it decided to attack. Just as it began charging the liquid in its mouth, it felt a sharp pain running from the center of its back to the center of its stomach. Then, it felt another pain on its forehead and before long, from the head all the way to the back, another pain arose.

The slime stared at Alex in disbelief as it hadn't even seen Alex's movements at all. Alex had used his everything while charging towards the slime thus his speed wasn't something that could be underestimated. He had just proven that. Alex didn't make any more movements as he solemnly stared at the slime before him.

Just like an apple that had been proportionally cut, the slime's body was divided into four equal separate parts and the liquid in its body didn't spill till a few seconds later. Alex closed his eyes and he could feel that tiredness was overwhelming him thus he decided to end things as fast as possible. He looked at the mid stage rank 2 monster that was still in a daze where he left it and he moved towards it.

He didn't play any longer and immediately slashed at it cutting it into several pieces. Alex stared at the body parts of the two monsters, waiting for them to reattach themselves but that didn't happen. Soon, light enveloped the two bodies and they disappeared in a flash leaving behind two dazzling cores.

Knowing that he didn't have much strength left, Alex stayed at that scene for a few minutes to recover some energy. The intent had already disappeared and Alex could feel that his body was really drained. It seems that using the intent wasn't something that could be carelessly be utilized. After his recovery, he decided to head back. He had spent more than enough time inside here.

Getting back to the safe area, he took several of the remaining healing portions and consumed them. Warmth spread through his body and he could feel that all those internal injuries he had gotten from the fight were getting healed. He removed the mask from his face and stored it in his inventory and further stored all of his swords too.

He didn't want much trouble and since his clothes were okay as he hadn't suffered much damage other than the internal injuries, he didn't need to change them. Holding the exit door, Alex was transported out of the second floor and he appeared in the cave where people select the floor that they need to enter.

Ignoring the stares he was receiving and immediately headed out of the dungeon heading straight to the inn. He didn't head to the guild as he really needed to have a good rest. His hands were still aching from the seven hours of swinging and he was also hungry. As for the troublemakers, they didn't appear before him. Twenty minutes later, Alex entered the bathroom and took a shower before falling on the bed to have a sleep.

.....

In a valley several meters from the guild hall...

"Why is that kid not showing up? Is it that he noticed that we were waiting for him?" a man who was wearing a black armor and held a bow asked.

"Nah, he can't. Being a rank 1 in the initial stages, he can't notice us as long as we maintain a distance of fifty meters. There must have been something wrong if he doesn't show up. Maybe there's another group that has already done the job for us and thus we are not needed for today. Anyway, let's wait for a few minutes more," replied the leader of this group.

This was the group that was sent to make things difficult for Alex and according to one of their men, Alex had been spotted leaving the dungeon and according to Alex's daily movements, he was expected to head to the guild after coming out of the dungeon. But after waiting for sometime and not seeing even his shadow, they were kind of frustrated.

"Boss, I think he went to the inn. The road he took after coming from the dungeon was the one that leads back to the inn," a middle aged man finally spoke up after waiting for another ten minutes. All eyes turned towards him and they were all burning with fury that if looks could kill, then this guy would have already been buried and his corpse would have already began rotting.

SLAP!

"You stupid buffoon! Why didn't you say this earlier on?! We could have already saved our precious time and we wouldn't have been waiting here like idiots Rico!" the leader slapped the one that gave out the information concerning Alex's movements and yelled. He was indeed angry. Why were they waiting if their target wasn't coming? Truly a waste of time.

Now that they knew that the target wasn't coming, they decided to head out and wait untill the time that Alex would once again show up. With that, they headed back to their business while Rico kept suffering in the hands of the team.

.....

Back at the inn..

Alex opened his heavy eyelids a d noticed that it was already morning. It seemed that he slept all through the night and he failed to eat. But being that he was at the peak of rank 1, he could say that staying a full day without food wasn't trouble at all. That was something that he could endure.

After a few stretches, Alex ate his food before heading towards the guild hall to sell the cores. Although it was only three cores, they were worth more as compared to rank 1 monster cores. He was in high spirits as he was going to visit the tower today. There, he could train and nobody could cause him trouble.

As he was thinking of this, a male voice interrupted his thoughts. "Finally showed up. I was wondering if you were going to evade us through and through."

Alex looked ahead of him as the group that harassed him previously blocked his path. He really wanted to smash the faces of this fellows but he knew that time wasn't right yet. He wanted to take them out as well as the master mind behind this. If possible, he wanted to beat the crap out of that guy that even his mother would fail to recognize him. As for now, he had to deal with this group.

"I don't have anything on me," Alex stated as he stared at the man before him. There wasn't any emotion in his eyes, only indifference.

"Oh? And why are you heading to the guild? Yesterday you were at the dungeon but you didn't head there so that means that you have the loot with you," stated the man.

Alex simply raised his hands and showed them that he didn't have a ring on his finger as well as he didn't have a backpack. He then said,"I have nothing on me, all the cores I got yesterday were taken by a group wearing masks. Now I am heading to the guild to see if there is a mission that I can take."

The middle aged man stared at Alex while trying to detect any trace of lie from his words but Alex's indifferent eyes showed none. Finally, he nodded his head and placed his hand on Alex's shoulder but Alex dodged the hand. He didn't want this guy to know his strength level.

Seeing that Alex had dodged his hand, the leader of the group misunderstood it as Alex thinking that he was about to beat him. Chuckling, he said," Hehe, worry not, we are not here to beat you up, we only need what you earned from the dungeon, nothing more. I hope you cooperate with us otherwise you'll get hurt."

After saying that, he led his group away leaving Alex who had a pondering look. After a while, he released a sigh and finally left and continued on his way to the guild hall.
